Chapter 51 - Chapter 50: Old Man… Can You Still Get It Up?

With Hanzo's death, Konan finally accepted Hidan completely, even submitting herself to him as his "maid."

That bond in turn brought Hidan a startling gift.

Because he had slain the leader of Amegakure and inherited the blood of the Uchiha clan, the system rewarded him with the combined affinities of Fire and Lightning.

For Hidan, who thrived on chaos, it was perfect—lightning ninjutsu at his fingertips.

Jumping down from Konan's back with a flushed grin, Hidan glanced lazily at the mournful salamander.

As a summon beast, it had little intelligence only enough to sense that its master was gone.

Beyond that, it could not think.

Konan, soft-hearted as always, whispered:

"Can you spare it? Hanzo controlled him. He's innocent."

Hidan chuckled. "Relax. I won't kill it. But it's not going free either. In the future it'll march in my summon army."

The pepperfish blinked dumbly, but Hidan's plan was clear. Once he mastered the Rinnegan and gained the Animal Path, a beast like this would be invaluable.

For now, he sealed it inside his crimson blood-sea dimension.

"Genjutsu."

His Sharingan spun, drowning the salamander in illusion. With a heavy thud it collapsed onto an island inside the blood sea, locked in eternal sleep.

Hanzo's corpse, meanwhile, Hidan tossed carelessly into the crimson tide, where it sank slowly into darkness.

This was no ordinary sea...he had tested it.

Anything dropped within would be preserved, never corroding, not even flesh. Perfect storage.

He turned back to Konan, eyes gleaming mischievously.

"My maid… You still haven't told me your full name. Shouldn't a master know what to call you?"

Konan's voice grew soft, haunted by memory.

"I grew up in war. I was just an orphan… they called me 'Konan.' That became my name."

Hidan smirked. "Then remember mine. I am Hidan, the survivor of Uchiha. Your master from now on. Disobey me, and…" His gaze slid wickedly over her curves.

"You'll be punished."

Konan flushed under his shameless stare and quickly changed the subject.

"Where are we going now? Back to Konoha?"

She didn't doubt his words. Even if she knew about Danzō's plots, she'd never connect Yahiko's death to him.

Hidan could easily shift the blame. And Danzō wasn't the type to defend himself publicly.

Hidan stretched lazily. "Nothing left to do here. We'll stay in Konoha until the curtain rises. No need to run around."

By his estimate, he was thirteen. Naruto and Sasuke should be five or six, still children.

In about a few years they'd graduate from the Academy.

That would mark the true beginning. The real show.

He hopped onto Konan's back again with a laugh.

"Let's go, my cute maid."

She obediently carried him, her mature body soft beneath him. His breath teased her neck, and though her heart pounded, she didn't resist.

Bit by bit, the cold kunoichi was yielding becoming exactly what he wanted.

Hidan's grin widened. Patience. I'll enjoy her properly later…

"Kamui."

A swirling vortex swallowed them, leaving only silence. In the distance, within a dark tower,

Mikoto Uchiha and Izumi waited unknowingly for Hidan's next visit.

Spatial travel was simply the best. Faster than any plane, ship, or train...instant arrival.

At that same moment, Sarutobi Hiruzen sat at his desk in the Hokage's office, studying a book with grave seriousness. His brows furrowed as though he were parsing forbidden secrets.

Then—whrrr! A vortex tore open, and Konan stepped through carrying Hidan on her back.

"Who—?!" Hiruzen jolted, the book flying from his hands...smacking Hidan squarely on the head.

Smack!

Blinking, Hidan caught it and yawned, then looked at the cover.

"...'Icha Icha Paradise'? Author…"

"!!!" Hidan froze.

"!!!" Konan's eyes widened.

"…." Hiruzen coughed into his fist.

Konan blinked at the smiling old man in shock. This kind looking elder… reading something like this in broad daylight? He's worse than Hidan!

Hidan tossed the book back with a grin.

"Old man, so you're the real pervert sage. Jiraiya's true disciple!"

Hiruzen's face darkened. He roared:

"Next time...knock on the door! You can't just appear like this!"

But the words rang hollow. Against an immortal Uchiha brat with a Mangekyō, he wasn't confident at all.

Sigh... children really grow too fast. Hiruzen thought inwardly.

"Anyway… what do you want?" Then he said trying to change the subject.

Hidan smirked. "Don't you think I've lost something? Like… oh, I dunno… a place to live?"

"…" Hiruzen adjusted his pipe. "Konoha is built by the sweat of its people. We don't hand out homes to freeloaders."

"So you won't arrange anything for me?"

"Build your own house!" the Hokage snapped. "And stop interrupting my reading!"

Hidan leaned in with a devilish smile.

"Oh? In the Hokage's office today, I saw something very interesting. What do you think, Konan?"

Catching on instantly, Konan tilted her head innocently.

"Yes… I too saw something the master mentioned. If word spread, I wonder what people would say…"

Hidan grinned. Smart girl. Worthy of my maid.

Hiruzen: "..."
