Chapter 73 - Shrek Are the Villains

PS: Sorry, I slacked off a bit these past two days. Since I had to rush for the full attendance bonus before publishing on the 1st, I had no choice but to pad with some original plot scenes. I promise, once it's officially published, it won't be this filler-heavy.

At this moment, the eight people from Canghui Academy had also sat down, separated from the Shrek group by two tables. Out of the corner of Tang San's eye, he noticed the middle-aged man—clearly their teacher—leaning toward a young man and whispering a few words.

Soon, that young man stood up and walked toward Tang San's table—specifically in the direction of Dai Mubai.

A faint trace of disdain flickered in Dai Mubai's evil eyes. Tang San could see it clearly, and naturally, so could everyone else—but Dai Mubai didn't even bother to glance at the other party. At that moment, a waiter happened to bring over the first dish for their table.

Suddenly, the young man from Canghui Academy quickened his pace. In the waiter's startled cry, he bumped straight into him. The dish tipped, falling directly toward Dai Mubai's head.

"Don't waste food," Tang San said lightly.

His left hand shot out like lightning, steadying the waiter's body, while his right hand lifted to catch the falling plate. Using Controlling Crane, Capturing Dragon, he held the dish perfectly steady without spilling a drop, and gently placed it onto the table. At the same time, his left hand pulled the waiter safely aside.

The Canghui Academy youth froze for a moment. Because the waiter's body had blocked his sight, he hadn't clearly seen Tang San's movements. Soon, a sly smile spread across his face. "My apologies."

Though he spoke politely, he still kept walking forward, appearing to pass beside Dai Mubai—but one of his feet suddenly swept sideways, kicking toward one of the wooden chair legs beneath Dai Mubai.

It was only an ordinary wooden chair. If one leg broke, Dai Mubai would surely lose balance and fall. The youth's movements were extremely subtle; his upper body didn't move at all. Without careful attention, no one could notice.

But the instant his foot moved—Dai Mubai also moved.

Does a tiger have a good temper?

Of course not.

After suffering quite a bit of frustration from Zhu Zhuqing these past few days, Dai Mubai had long been holding back his anger. Faced with such provocation, how could he possibly let it pass?

With a dull bang, the youth from Canghui Academy felt as though his foot had slammed into an iron plate. A jolt of numbness ran up his entire leg—then Dai Mubai's palm had already swung out.

The young man's face changed drastically; he raised both hands in a hurry to block—but his hands were instantly forced apart by the soul power embedded in Dai Mubai's strike. The palm still landed squarely on his chest.

The young man's tall body bent backward like a rag doll, sent flying several meters. He crashed into two tables in succession before slamming into his own group.

The middle-aged teacher from Canghui Academy hastily stood, lifting both hands to catch the youth by his shoulders. Even so, the young man's face turned pale, and with a spurt, he vomited a mouthful of blood, his body collapsing weakly.

Dai Mubai straightened up, stretching his waist casually from the palm strike. "Oops, my mistake."

The evil-eyed white tiger's nature was on full display—his face full of scorn and arrogance, so excessive that even his own companions found him irritating. For example, Yun Chuan, who was hiding in the shadows.

After booking his room, Yun Chuan had planned to rest. But then he remembered that something like this had happened in the original story, so he quietly hid nearby to observe. And what did he see? Dai Mubai and the others provoking people first—then acting all arrogant and domineering afterward…

Wasn't this a textbook villain move?

Back in his previous life when he read the novel, he'd vaguely felt something was off. Now, seeing it in person, he realized—Shrek were totally the villains!

Sometimes, when you look at things objectively, the conclusion becomes obvious.

Shrek's "education" truly had some serious issues!

The restaurant instantly erupted in commotion. The diners near both tables quickly stood up and backed away to avoid getting caught in the crossfire—but most didn't leave. Instead, they looked excitedly at the scene before them.

After all, watching soul masters fight usually required going to the Great Spirit Arena—at a hefty price. Seeing a free fight right here? Of course, the ordinary people with martial souls were thrilled. Moreover, this city was used to the presence of spirit masters.

The rest of the Canghui Academy group could no longer hold back. The remaining six students all stood up at once, glaring angrily at the Shrek group, ready to charge. But their teacher stopped them.

He helped the injured youth into a chair, then looked at Dai Mubai with a dark expression. "Which academy are you brats from?"

Dai Mubai's evil eyes glinted. "Oh? You want to question me? You're not qualified." He sat back down nonchalantly.

Fatty—Ma Hongjun—moved even faster, especially when eating. He had already started, munching away while saying, "Hmm, not bad. Could use a bit more fire, but it'll do."

The teacher's face turned iron-blue. "Such arrogant brats! Teach them a lesson!"

The students had been waiting for that order. Aside from the one Dai Mubai had injured and the single female student, the other five immediately charged toward Tang San's table.

"Fight? I love fighting!" Xiao Wu exclaimed excitedly, leaping up from her seat and rushing forward without hesitation.

As soon as Xiao Wu moved, Tang San naturally didn't stay still. A faint purple light appeared in his eyes.

Neither side had released their martial souls yet. The five charging youths were momentarily stunned when they saw the delicate, pretty girl coming to meet them. Though she looked young, Xiao Wu was already about 1.7 meters tall. Her big, bright eyes and innocent face made her look utterly harmless. Their momentum faltered instantly.

Oscar stood beside Tang San and muttered, "Aren't you going to help? Don't let Xiao Wu get hurt."

Oscar had never seen Xiao Wu fight and didn't know how strong she really was. The other side came from an Advanced Spirit Master Academy—each should be at least over level twenty, and there were five of them.

But Tang San didn't move. He smiled faintly. "You've been fooled by Xiao Wu's appearance. Those guys are the unlucky ones."

After years of training, Tang San's Purple Demon Eye had already reached the Microscopic Realm (Ru Wei Jing Jie). What he could perceive now went far beyond before.

The Purple Demon Eye had four stages—Broad View, Microscopic, Mustard Seed, and Vastness. At the Broad View stage, vision improved greatly, allowing one to capture every visible detail clearly. At the Microscopic stage, according to Tang San's memory and the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record, the Purple Demon Eye should allow even greater precision—slowing perception of all motion to feed his nerves information faster, letting him react instantly.

But after reaching this stage in this world, Tang San found that his Purple Demon Eye had changed slightly. In addition to its original effects, it could now detect a soul master's spirit power level—though only if that person's level was lower than his own. Stronger ones were unreadable.

He didn't know why, but this ability was undeniably useful—it allowed him to instantly gauge whether his opponent's soul power surpassed his.

Right now, using his Purple Demon Eye, Tang San could clearly see that among the seven Canghui Academy students, aside from the female student and their teacher whom he couldn't see through, the remaining six students' soul power levels were fully visible.

The one who had provoked Dai Mubai earlier and been beaten had spirit power of level twenty-seven. The five in front of them now were all below level twenty-five.

Tang San knew Xiao Wu's combat experience better than anyone. With her level twenty-nine soul power, and striking preemptively, she would never be at a disadvantage. Not to mention—he was watching close by.

The five youths halted for a moment, but Xiao Wu did not. She blinked her big eyes and smiled sweetly. "Hello, brothers."

The five young men froze, glancing awkwardly at each other. Faced with such an adorable girl, their fierce demeanor suddenly faltered—they hesitated, unsure what to do.

And at that instant—Xiao Wu moved.

Her foot seemed to slip, and she pitched forward toward one of them. The youth instinctively raised his hands to catch her—only to see a black braid whip toward him.

Before he could react, Xiao Wu's Scorpion Braid had already looped around his neck. Using the momentum of her "fall," she coiled up and flipped backward, her feet planting squarely on his chest.

With his neck entangled and panic setting in, the youth raised his arms to block—but Xiao Wu's feet weren't striking—they were the pivot. In a blink, she flipped forward again, sending him flying through the air.

Even Tang San had suffered from her Soft Skill the first time they fought, let alone these Canghui students—academy-trained but lacking real combat experience.

Xiao Wu moved like lightning, not pausing for a second. Using the force of her flip, she launched at the next opponent.

The remaining four hadn't even recovered when the second youth tried to block, raising his arms to guard his chest—but how could he block Xiao Wu's soft skills?

Though he successfully caught her legs, he was stunned to find there was no strength in them at all—soft as silk. Her legs slipped under his arms, wrapping firmly around his neck.

Then Xiao Wu's body twisted backward—The second man was also thrown flying.
