A full day.

That was how long it took them to traverse the outer forest zone.

They had entered a region of grasslands.

Although the number of wild Pokémon in this area was still considerable, due to the lack of cover or hiding spots, most encounters were direct.

Ambushes were rare.

In these grasslands, it was easy to find brute-force type Pokémon.

For example, entire herds of Tauros.

They dominated the terrain, and almost no other Pokémon dared to challenge them.

It wasn't worth it: a group of wild bulls that could go berserk at any moment was better left alone.

There were also herds of Rhydon and Rhyhorn.

They were even more troublesome and fearsome than Tauros. Their defensive capabilities were massive, and if you didn't have the means to confront them, the wisest choice was to stay away.

But aside from these two species, there was another Pokémon that especially caught Cain's attention.

Kangaskhan.

A Normal-type Pokémon, one that Cain knew could Mega Evolve.

Kangaskhan was famous for the relationship it had with its offspring.

It was said that the little Kangaskhan lived in its mother's pouch for three years before becoming independent. The mother would give her life to protect her child.

And the most striking part was that during Mega Evolution, if the baby was still in the pouch, both Pokémon would be empowered at the same time.

It was the only known case in the entire Pokémon world where a Mega Evolution affected two Pokémon at once.

Cain and his Pokémon's arrival in the grasslands instantly shattered the area's tranquility.

It was like throwing a stone into the calm surface of a lake.

And soon those ripples would disturb the entire prairie. At first, nothing major happened. But everything changed when they encountered a herd of Tauros.

Tyranitar and the others had set their sights on a few Tauros in the group that stood out due to their strength.

That's when Cain realized just how obsessed his Pokémon had become with battle.

It all started with Tyranitar.

In the previous forest, to avoid delays, Cain hadn't actively sought out strong wild Pokémon herds. The few that attacked on their own were usually Quasi-Elite level, and Aggron and Blaziken could defeat them in a couple of blows.

Tyranitar hadn't even participated.

During that month, except for battles against Vigoroth, which did motivate him, his routine had been nothing but training after training.

He was nearly going crazy from boredom.

So now that, in the middle of the prairie, he sensed a slight danger emanating from some Tauros... how could he possibly resist?

He had to fight, no matter what.

And if he felt that way, what about Aggron and Blaziken?

Their obsession with reaching Elite level bordered on the pathological.

Cain didn't doubt that both would eventually break through. What worried him was that this fixation might end up harming their bodies.

Looking at the three blazing stares of his Pokémon, Cain reclined in his sand chair, resting one elbow on the armrest while gently petting Riolu on his lap. His head was starting to hurt.

Was he raising a bunch of battle addicts?

It seemed like he couldn't control them anymore...

With resignation, he waved a hand: go ahead.

Then, he took out a Poké Ball and released Florges.

"Flott~!"

The moment she appeared, Florges felt the fresh prairie air and smiled sweetly.

With that smile as the trigger, a wave of flowers began to bloom around her, covering the ground with vivid colors.

Florges, with her white petals, looked like a true flower fairy, blending seamlessly into the field she had just created.

And that field of flowers continued to grow little by little.

Which quickly caught the attention of other prairie Pokémon.

Cain knew Florges had remembered the place where she had once lived, and that was why she reacted like this, enjoying the atmosphere and the flowers.

As a Pokémon that controlled flowers, creating a field like this was no problem for her.

Cain said nothing. As long as Florges was happy, he was satisfied.

He had only summoned her as a precaution, to prevent Tyranitar and the others from going overboard with the Tauros and accidentally getting hurt.

But clearly, Cain had underestimated their self-control.

Even though they were brutes in combat, and preferred to smash with a single blow rather than use two, that didn't mean they were brainless.

What kind of brute is more terrifying?

The one with intelligence and strategy.

"Tyraaan!" Tyranitar shouted something to Aggron and Blaziken, and the three quickly mapped out a plan.

From a distance, Cain watched without interfering. He wanted to see if their autonomous combat ability had improved.

What they had learned from Kommo-o, and the tricks they'd picked up thanks to Vigoroth... it was time to put it all into practice.

Soon after, they had everything decided.

With the prairie's cool breeze blowing in their faces, Blaziken was the first to act: with a "fwoosh!", his body was engulfed in flames and he charged directly at the Tauros.

His fiery crimson figure instantly caught the herd's attention.

Blaziken accelerated more and more.

The Tauros began to stir.

White vapors shot from their nostrils as their hooves scraped the ground impatiently.

Blaziken appeared before them in the blink of an eye.

He didn't even give them time to react.

Boom!

A kick to the forehead of the nearest Tauros slammed it to the ground.

THUMPP!

The impact was so strong it made the ground tremble slightly.

And using that same momentum, Blaziken flipped backward and moved away from the group.

Then...

The whole herd exploded in fury.

Without caring for their fallen companion, they charged madly after Blaziken.

He, taunting them, stood still and waved a finger at them, challenging them.

He waited a few seconds... and then ran again.

"TYRAAAANN!"

"GRRRAAAHHHH!"

From a nearby point, Tyranitar and Aggron, already prepared, roared with enthusiasm.

Cain watched silently... and put a hand to his face.

"I take it back... This was Tyranitar's idea, no doubt."

The plan was clear: Blaziken would provoke and draw their attention, and then...

They would charge the entire herd head-on, no detours.

Tyranitar twisted his body as he activated the move Dragon Dance.

Thanks to the techniques learned from Kommo-o, he could now do it faster and with greater effect.

Aggron, with a powerful roar, caused massive rocks to rise from the ground.

Which, immediately after, disappeared.

This wasn't throwing a stone into the lake...

This was dropping an atomic bomb!
