Chapter 161 - Chapter 160: Song Jie’s Plan, Mo Fan Has Changed!

Instructor Zhan Kong walked to the water dispenser, took out a plastic cup, and filled it with water for Song Jie.

He came over with a smile, handing the cup to him. "You came to see me, so I assume you've decided to become a Military Mage?"

"No."

Song Jie's answer was direct.

Zhan Kong paused mid-gesture, then calmly took the cup back and drank from it himself.

Song Jie glanced at him speechlessly. Just a moment ago, he was all smiles and hospitality — now he wasn't even pretending anymore!

"What's the matter?" Zhan Kong asked, knowing Song Jie must have something important to say.

"Instructor Zhan Kong, you must have heard about the Bloodthirsty Ants in Jinshan, right?"

"I have."

"I encountered something else in Jinshan," Song Jie said gravely.

Zhan Kong's interest was immediately piqued. "What was it?"

"Someone entered Jinshan looking for me," Song Jie replied. "They even wanted to use me for experiments."

Hearing that, Zhan Kong's expression darkened, a crease forming between his brows as a terrible thought crossed his mind.

"Did they do anything to you?" he asked sharply.

Song Jie nodded.

In truth, this was part of his plan — he wanted to use this incident as an opportunity to make his Demonization public.

After all, Mo Fan would reveal his own Demonization later. If Song Jie revealed it first, it would help normalize the ability's existence.

Besides, an investigation into Lu Nian's group would only expose that they had tried to harm him.

As for the exact events of that night — no one had survived to tell the tale. Ding Yumian and Mu Lei hadn't witnessed it directly, so the truth remained known only to him.

Zhan Kong's expression grew grim. He had already received intelligence that Lu Nian had gone rogue and left the military.

"Song Jie, stay here for now. I need to go to the Imperial Capital immediately," Zhan Kong said, already standing up.

"The Imperial Capital? Why are you going there?"

"Lu Nian might make a move against Mo Fan. I have to stop it!"

Without another word, Zhan Kong rushed out the door.

Watching him go, Song Jie also left the Southern Military Department, heading straight for Jinlin City.

His plan was unfolding perfectly. Everything was proceeding exactly as he had predicted.

Late that night, deep in the wilderness.

Mo Fan and Zhao Manyan sat beside a campfire.

Not far from them was a serene lake where the girls were bathing, their laughter echoing across the water.

The men's imaginations ran wild.

"Mu Nujiao, why is yours bigger than Bai Tingting's? I never noticed before!" Song Xia blurted out, her voice full of playful curiosity.

The others stared at her in disbelief. They had always assumed Bai Tingting was the most well-endowed, but apparently, Mu Nujiao was the real dark horse.

Mu Nujiao's face turned scarlet.

She hadn't been like this before... but after spending so much time with Song Jie... It was far too embarrassing to explain!

The boys sitting by the fire could barely contain themselves.

"Hey, Peng Liang, aren't you a Shadow Mage? What are you waiting for?" someone whispered.

"Yeah! If I had Shadow magic, I'd already be over there!"

"You awakened Shadow Element but can't even use it properly — what a waste!"

As the teasing grew louder, Mo Fan suddenly stood up, his tone cold.

"If anyone dares to sneak over there, don't blame me for turning hostile!"

Everyone froze.

"Mo Fan, what's your problem?" Shen Mingxiao snapped.

Luo Song also stood up. "Yeah, who are you to decide that?"

Even Zhao Manyan frowned. "What's gotten into you today? You're usually not this uptight."

Mo Fan looked at him and said firmly, "Mu Nujiao is my brother's girlfriend. What do you think?"

"You mean... she's Song Jie's girlfriend?" Zhao Manyan asked, stunned.

Mo Fan nodded.

Zhao Manyan was speechless.

The goddess of Pearl Institute... was already taken!

Peng Liang, who had been ready to use his Shadow magic, immediately sat back down, his enthusiasm gone.

"Song Jie?"

Liao Mingxuan from Imperial Capital Academy frowned. "Why does that name sound so familiar?"

"Of course it does," Zhao Manyan said with a smirk. "He's the one who crushed your Imperial Capital Academy last year."

The Imperial Capital students stiffened as the memory resurfaced.

That's right — it was him!

Their proud number-one academy had been humiliated by a single person.

Unprecedented. Unforgettable.

And now, their attempt to redeem themselves through this exchange program had taken another blow — this time from Mo Fan himself!

No one said another word. The silence was heavy.

A few days later, the group arrived before an old church.

Mu Nujiao stopped and frowned.

"I feel like this place isn't safe. Let's find somewhere else," she said softly.

"Unsafe? I don't sense any danger," Ming Cong replied, glancing around.

"It's already late. If we keep wandering outside, that'll be even more dangerous," Liao Mingxuan added.

"Yeah, I can't walk anymore," Luo Song groaned, collapsing onto the ground.

Mu Nujiao bit her lip, unsure how to convince them.

"Jiao Jiao, what's wrong?" Bai Tingting asked.

"Someone told me this church isn't safe," Mu Nujiao replied.

"Who told you?"

"A friend," she said simply.

The others exchanged uncertain looks.

But Mo Fan stood up. This time, he didn't leave the group.

"I'll trust Mu Nujiao," he said firmly. "Let's keep moving. Old Zhao, you coming?"

"Of course," Zhao Manyan said immediately. "You're the only one I trust out here."

"Three of us, then," Mo Fan said, glancing around.

The other students from Pearl Institute all stood up one after another, choosing to follow Mu Nujiao.

Mu Ningxue remembered the message Song Jie had sent her earlier and also sided with them.

In the end, even the Imperial Capital students had no choice but to follow — Mu Ningxue was their captain, after all.

They found another place to rest.

Under the moonlight, they set up camp and shared a quiet meal.

The night passed peacefully.

By morning, everyone was up and preparing for the next reconnaissance mission.

"We have two reconnaissance points left," Song Xia suggested. "To save time, should we split up?"

"I think that's fine."

"I agree — it'll save time."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

Lu Zhenghe added, "The left reconnaissance point looks easier. Let the girls handle that one. We guys will go right."

Mo Fan frowned. He already knew — the girls' side was safe. There were no demon creatures there at all.
