In the following days, Chu Bai was rather relaxed. He wasn't in any rush to cultivate his soul power, so he simply spent his days watching Ning Rongrong and the others emerge from the God's Domain with unwilling faces—quite the daily amusement.
Naturally, Chu Bai's diary had come to a mysterious halt without any reason.
Qian Renxue, being his devoted reader, had secretly cursed him hundreds of times for stopping updates.
However, during these days, the new Spirit Hall battle team Chu Bai had formed experienced tremendous improvement. Hu Liena, Xie Yue, and Yan all took advantage of the God's Domain to successfully step into the Soul King realm and, with Bibi Dong's help, each obtained their fifth spirit ring.
Zhu Zhuqing's cultivation, on the other hand, was proceeding steadily. Having consumed two immortal herbs that continually improved her physique, her cultivation speed was now much faster than before.
Ning Rongrong also successfully broke through to level forty and, with Chu Bai's assistance, obtained her fourth spirit ring—naturally, a freshly reached ten-thousand-year ring.
In addition to the Qiluo Tulip she had taken before, Chu Bai had also given Ning Rongrong another immortal herb to further refine her body. Though it didn't raise her spirit power level, the long-term benefits would be immense.
Lastly was Dugu Yan, whose transformation surprised Chu Bai the most.
Apparently due to the immortal herb she consumed, not only had Dugu Yan's soul power risen to level forty-nine, but her martial soul had undergone a special evolution—from the Jade Phosphor Serpent to a martial soul known as the Nether Serpent Emperor.
Naturally, the most shocked person was Dugu Bo.
That was because the Nether Serpent Emperor's quality completely suppressed his own Jade Phosphor Snake Emperor. It was clear that Dugu Yan's new martial soul had ascended to the level of a top-tier spirit.
"Hehe, Holy Son, didn't you say you could re-cultivate those immortal herbs? Then that one you gave Yan'er before…"
Seeing Dugu Bo fawning like this, Chu Bai felt helpless but still agreed.
After all, Dugu Bo's strength growing stronger benefited him as well.
"It seems you've all made great progress. Then now—it's time to head to the Heaven Dou Empire and teach that bunch from Shrek a lesson."
Chu Bai stood before Ning Rongrong, Zhu Zhuqing, and Dugu Yan.
Ning Rongrong asked, "Chu Bai, could their strength have also reached a similar level to ours by now?"
Chu Bai rolled his eyes.
Shrek was basically ruined. For starters, Ma Hongjun was already half crippled.
Without the Cockscomb Phoenix Sunflower, he'd eventually die from his own evil fire.
As for Dai Mubai, he was at best around level forty now. As for Tang San, Chu Bai wasn't sure—but he guessed the guy was still a clown. Without the immortal herbs or the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, what could that Blue Silver Grass possibly do?
Meanwhile, on Chu Bai's side, the "weaker" ones—Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing—had both already reached around level forty-three.
However, in the end, Dugu Yan didn't go with Chu Bai. Since her martial soul had just evolved, Dugu Bo advised her to remain in Spirit City for further cultivation to avoid any mishaps.
Chu Bai didn't mind. After notifying Bibi Dong, he prepared to take Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing to the Heaven Dou Empire.
Bibi Dong, still concerned about Tang Hao, assigned Yue Guan and Gui Mei to secretly follow and protect Chu Bai.
After some travel, the three arrived in the Heaven Dou Empire—but rather than heading straight to Heaven Dou City, they chose the nearby Soto City. Based on the storyline's progression, the Shrek group should be competing in the Great Spirit Arena right now.
"That so-called 'Grandmaster' really is just a con man—and completely hypocritical!"
Ning Rongrong had been grumbling the whole way, complaining about the Grandmaster's faults.
Zhu Zhuqing, though quiet, nodded in agreement at key points.
"He is a con man. I bet the moment he sees your fourth spirit rings are ten-thousand-year ones, he'll start shrieking again."
Chu Bai rubbed his temples at the mere mention of Yu Xiaogang.
He had never met someone so shameless.
"But now that he's lost an arm," Zhu Zhuqing said coldly, "maybe he'll behave a little better."
"You're too merciful," she added. "If I had your strength and a group of pests kept provoking me, I'd kill them all."
Chu Bai shrugged and nodded approvingly. "You're right—but after all, it's hard to find clowns entertaining enough to relieve boredom. Might as well keep them around. They can't stir up much trouble anyway."
"You two are already Soul Sects now," he continued. "In direct combat, Shrek's bunch can't even touch you."
Ning Rongrong asked curiously, "Why?"
"With your current strength, you can only join matches for those at the fortieth level. Obviously, Shrek doesn't have a single soul master at level forty. Unless you two hide your spirit power, but the spirit rings can't be disguised."
Chu Bai sighed. "Not a big problem though—we'll see when we get there."
"Actually," Zhu Zhuqing suddenly said, "there's another way."
"Oh?" Chu Bai looked at her with interest.
"I overheard people in Soto City mention a special type of battle in the Great Spirit Arena—'Chaos Battle.'"
"Chaos Battle?" Chu Bai and Ning Rongrong were both puzzled, so Zhu Zhuqing explained: "It's a brutal arena match where twenty participants between levels thirty and forty-five fight at once. The last one standing wins—and earns a generous reward."
After hearing this, Chu Bai looked even more speechless.
"This kind of match discriminates against strong Soul Kings like me."
He sighed. Apparently, he wasn't fated to fight this time—if he joined a one-on-one match, the opponent would have to be a Soul King, and that would be boring.
With his current strength, he could easily annihilate one.
"Hehe, then just leave it to me and Zhuqing," Ning Rongrong said with a light smile.
The three then arrived at the Great Spirit Arena. The place was packed with roaring excitement and cheers. Chu Bai frowned slightly—he didn't seem to like such a noisy environment—but Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing quickly went to register.
Just as they turned around, a deep voice rang out from behind them—
"Zhu Zhuqing, stop right there!"
Zhu Zhuqing's eyes flashed with cold light as she slowly turned to face Dai Mubai.
Her tone was calm and icy. "What do you want?"
"You! Why are you with that guy?" Dai Mubai pointed first at Chu Bai, then back at Zhu Zhuqing.
