Chapter 188 - Chapter 187: Bronze Hall

In Konoha Village, inside the Hokage Building, Naruto sat in his office, flipping through a yellowed ancient scroll.

Suddenly, the door to the Hokage Office burst open with a loud bang, cutting off Naruto's concentration.

He looked up in surprise, eyes narrowing. "Sasuke? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at home with Sakura? Did something happen?"

Sasuke stood in the doorway, eyes blazing with fury. "Naruto, where's that yellow-haired brat of yours?"

"Yellow-haired… you mean Boruto?" Naruto frowned. "What's wrong? Did he piss you off again?"

Hearing that, Sasuke's fists trembled. He strode up to Naruto and slammed his hands down hard on the desk.

Bang!

The papers and computer rattled under the impact.

"Sarada didn't come home last night, Naruto! Explain yourself!" Sasuke's voice thundered, full of rage.

"What?!" Naruto jumped to his feet. "Sarada didn't come home? Then… Boruto didn't either…" His expression darkened as the realization hit.

"Naruto!" Sasuke barked, his anger rising.

"Sasuke, calm down! Maybe Boruto just took Sarada somewhere to hang out. You know Boruto's strength — nothing's going to happen to her." Naruto tried to reason with him.

"Damn it! If I didn't think of him as your son, I'd break his legs!" Sasuke growled, voice shaking with frustration.

"Sasuke, what good is yelling going to do? Go home to Sakura. Sarada's with Boruto — he'll keep her safe." Naruto placed a hand on Sasuke's shoulder.

But Sasuke brushed it off harshly. His glare could have cut through steel. He clenched his fist and almost threw a punch at Naruto, but stopped himself.

"Sasuke, what are you doing? This is the Hokage's office — I'm the Hokage now!" Naruto warned.

"Hmph! You'll regret having that yellow-haired brat!" Sasuke snapped, slamming the door on his way out.

The entire office shook from the impact.

Naruto sighed, sat back down, and picked up the ancient scroll again.

"Strange… why is Boruto's name mentioned in a scroll from the Warring States Era? Is this some kind of coincidence?" He rubbed his chin, deep in thought.

Meanwhile, in a hidden base deep within the Land of Fire, Orochimaru carefully handled several test tubes filled with strange, luminous liquids.

Footsteps echoed down the corridor. Orochimaru looked up, recognizing the intruder.

"What is it, Suigetsu? Something urgent?" he asked.

"Orochimaru," Suigetsu said quickly, "a ruin belonging to the Uzumaki Clan has been found. A merchant from the Land of Waves was ambushed by rogue ninja in the Land of Fire. During his escape, he stumbled across the site. He said you'd want to know."

"Oh?" Orochimaru's golden eyes gleamed with curiosity. "That's impossible. I've already excavated every corner of the Uzushiogakure ruins. There shouldn't be anything left."

"It's not in Uzushiogakure," Suigetsu explained.

"Oh… that makes things interesting," Orochimaru murmured, leaning forward, visibly intrigued.

"The Uzumaki Clan's sealing techniques — especially those dealing with souls — are invaluable for research. Suigetsu, bring Jugo. We're going to this ruin."

Soon after, deep within a dense forest, Orochimaru, Suigetsu, and Jugo made their way through thick brush.

Sunlight pierced through the canopy, scattering ghostly patterns of light on the moss-covered ground.

"This is it, Orochimaru," Suigetsu said, stopping in front of an ancient stone door half-buried in vines.

The massive door was etched with intricate runes and spiral patterns. Despite the erosion of time, the emblem of the Uzumaki Clan remained visible.

"I didn't expect the Uzumaki to have left a site here in the Land of Fire," Orochimaru said.

"But it's not impossible. Judging by the style and wear, this must date back three or four centuries — likely the Warring States Period."

"The Warring States Period…" Jugo murmured softly.

"Yes. The Uzumaki originally lived in the Land of Fire before relocating for reasons still unknown. This could be one of their early settlements," Orochimaru explained, studying the door for clues.

"Should I break it open?" Jugo offered.

"No need." Orochimaru smiled faintly and produced a small jade pendant from within his robes.

The pendant glowed faintly, carved with the same symbols as the door.

"This is a key I recovered from the Uzushiogakure ruins. I didn't expect it to fit here."

He pressed the pendant into a shallow groove on the stone surface.

Blue light flared, and the runes on the door came alive, shifting and unlocking. The stone doors creaked open, revealing a shadowed passage beyond.

"Let's go. Let's see what secrets the Uzumaki left behind."

Orochimaru entered first, followed by Suigetsu and Jugo. Their footsteps echoed as they disappeared into the darkness.

The passage was cold and silent, lit only by their torches. Strange murals and spiraling seals lined the walls, depicting the Uzumaki's ancient history.

Orochimaru ran his fingers along the carvings as he studied them. "Remarkable… these inscriptions are older than anything I've seen."

"It's huge in here," Suigetsu muttered, glancing around uneasily.

After walking for several minutes, the corridor opened into a vast underground chamber.

At its center stood a massive bronze coffin, its surface engraved with dense sealing scripts that glowed faintly green. The air around it pulsed with a strange energy.

"This… this power…" Orochimaru whispered, stepping closer and brushing his hand across the engravings.

"Orochimaru, what's in there? Don't tell me it's some kind of undead monster stronger than a Tailed Beast," Suigetsu said nervously.

Orochimaru ignored him. Biting his finger, he performed a rapid series of hand seals and slammed his palm on the ground.

Boom!

Glowing sealing patterns spread outward, encircling the bronze coffin. Slowly, the lid began to shift aside with a grinding noise.

As the ancient coffin opened, a figure lay inside — silent and still.

Then suddenly, the figure's eyes snapped open.

"Boruto!" Uchiha Hikari gasped.
