"Young Master Boruto… Young Master Boruto!"
A medium-built man wearing glasses and a white lab coat hurriedly called out to Boruto, who had just stepped out of his house.
Boruto turned his head toward the voice. "Oh, it's Uncle Katasuke."
Katasuke rushed over, bowing respectfully. "Young Master Boruto!"
Boruto raised an eyebrow. "What is it this time? Don't tell me you want me to take another one of your inventions to my dad again?"
Katasuke shook his head, a bit helpless. "I'd love to go myself, but Hokage-sama is far too busy. As his son, you're the only one in Konoha Village who can meet him freely."
Boruto shrugged. "Well, I don't have time right now. You can go yourself."
"Please, Young Master, just listen first," Katasuke said earnestly.
"This time, my invention is different from anything before. It's a groundbreaking technology—something that could revolutionize the future of ninja combat."
Boruto tilted his head, intrigued. "Revolutionize ninja combat, huh? That's a big claim."
"Indeed!" Katasuke's eyes gleamed.
"I've developed a sealing scroll that can store Ninjutsu itself. You just pre-seal a technique into the scroll, and when the moment comes, you can release it instantly—no hand signs, no chakra required."
Boruto's interest grew. "So, basically, a ninja could fire off multiple jutsu without needing to rest or focus on chakra control?"
"Exactly!" Katasuke said proudly. "I've tested it many times, and the results are remarkable. If this spreads across the shinobi world, the entire structure of combat will change forever."
"That's pretty impressive," Boruto admitted. "I'd like to see it for myself."
"Of course! I'd be honored," Katasuke said eagerly.
The two made their way to a training field.
"Young Master, this is the Ninjutsu sealing scroll," Katasuke said, carefully laying it on the ground and unrolling it.
Boruto crouched beside him. "So this is it? How do I use it?"
"It's simple," Katasuke explained patiently. "Just perform a Ninjutsu at the scroll—it will automatically absorb and store it."
Boruto nodded, then raised his palm.
"Rasengan!"
A brilliant blue Rasengan spiraled in his hand, its energy humming in the air.
Katasuke's eyes lit up with admiration. "Incredible… Hokage-sama's A-rank signature technique, mastered at Boruto's age. Truly exceptional talent."
"I must maintain a good relationship with him. If he ever becomes the Eighth Hokage, my research will finally have no limits."
Following the instructions, Boruto pushed the Rasengan toward the scroll.
As it neared, ripples appeared across the paper's surface—like invisible hands drawing the energy inward.
When the Rasengan vanished completely, a ring of glowing runes appeared, then quickly faded away.
"It actually worked!" Boruto said, clearly impressed.
Katasuke smiled with satisfaction. "Well, Young Master Boruto, does my invention live up to expectations?"
"It's pretty good," Boruto admitted. "But how do you use it afterward?"
"You simply throw the scroll," Katasuke replied. "It'll unroll midair and release the stored Ninjutsu automatically within range."
"That easy?" Boruto said, already tossing it toward a wooden post.
With a bang, the scroll unfurled mid-flight, and a glowing Rasengan burst out, slamming into the target and shattering it into splinters.
"Not bad," Boruto said. "But it's a bit bulky."
Katasuke nodded. "It's still in the prototype stage. Current tech can't make it any smaller yet."
Boruto rubbed his chin, thinking. "Hmm… what if we inscribe a Transformation Jutsu into the scroll itself? That way, it could resize or reshape depending on the user's needs."
Katasuke froze for a moment—then clapped his hands, eyes wide. "Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that? That would massively improve portability and stealth!"
"Uncle Katasuke, got another one of those scrolls?" Boruto asked.
Katasuke smiled and pulled one out. "Right here."
Boruto performed the Transformation Jutsu on it. With a puff of smoke, the scroll shrank from the size of a water bottle to that of a thumb.
He held it between his fingers, inspecting it closely. "Heh. Looks like a bullet."
He grinned. "The scroll's the shell, the jutsu's the bullet… If I could make something to fire these—like a weapon—then yeah… times have really changed."
He chuckled to himself, remembering those silly parody images from his past life—Naruto and Sasuke trading fire with chakra-powered Gatling guns in the Final Valley.
"If I actually make this thing real, I'll have to say—it's way easier to use than standard Ninjutsu."
Katasuke, still amazed, said, "Young Master Boruto, would you be willing to take this invention to Hokage-sama? If he sees it himself, it could change the course of modern ninja science."
Boruto crossed his arms. "No."
"Huh?" Katasuke blinked, confused. "W-what do you mean, Young Master Boruto?"
"Uncle Katasuke," Boruto said frankly, "my dad doesn't really value your inventions. You'll never reach your full potential following him."
Katasuke hesitated, baffled. "But… aren't you Hokage-sama's son? Isn't that the same thing?"
"Of course not," Boruto said flatly. Then he smirked. "I don't use Dad's talk-no-jutsu. I prefer to convince people with strength."
With that, he activated his Tenseigan, a radiant silver-blue light swirling in his eyes.
He condensed a glowing orb of pure mental energy in his palm—and gently pressed it into Katasuke's chest.
