Chapter 2 - Slime Night Raid

From the number of Iktomisaurus soaring overhead, Liang Chuan judged that he was somewhere in the forest region of the Masters of the Night-Wind tribe's domain.

But the real Teyvat wasn't nearly as "small" as the game made it seem.

Without teleport waypoints, it would take only a few minutes of running in-game to cross nations—but here, with only his two legs, it was a vast, endless expanse.

After crossing over into this world, Liang Chuan had immediately gotten lost within the forested region of the Masters of the Night-Wind.

Thankfully, he had once attended a wilderness survival camp.

Life in the wild wasn't comfortable, but at least it kept him alive.

After three days in the forest, he encountered a Hilichurl.

Though Hilichurls were once humans transformed by a curse, they were still monsters at heart—

and they never showed mercy to humans.

Naturally, Liang Chuan felt no mercy toward it either.

He cut it down with a handmade stone axe.

But what happened next was bizarre.

The moment the Hilichurl fell, its body vanished into thin air!

At the same time, two lines of text flashed before his eyes:

[Fourth Calamity System] Activated.

Hilichurl conversion successful. Conversion efficiency: 1% (Direct Kill Conversion Efficiency). Bioenergy +1!

Seeing this, Liang Chuan's eyes lit up.

As a transmigrator, of course he had to have a system!

After understanding the [Fourth Calamity System], Liang Chuan knew—

He was not fated to die here.

Even if the Abyss invaded, he would have nothing to fear!

The [Fourth Calamity System] could use bioenergy to construct "Player Bodies," summoning consciousnesses from other worlds to inhabit and control them.

And the number of "players" he could summon—

was unlimited.

As long as he had enough bioenergy, the number of players he could summon would reach astronomical levels!

Not just all over Teyvat—even across the universe if he wanted!

Late at night, deep within the Tequemecan Valley region.

The crackling "pzzzt-pzzzt" of electricity split the still air, jolting Liang Chuan awake in his wooden hut.

Gripping his stone axe, he crept to the window and peered outside.

Under the flickering light of his campfire, three Large Electro Slimes were squirming closer.

"Large Electro Slimes... with just these few Hilichurls, this'll be tough," Liang Chuan muttered, frowning.

Even if he somehow managed to kill them, the cost would be heavy.

Neither he nor the Hilichurls could wield elemental power.

Against lightning—one strike was all it took to end them.

He only had twelve Hilichurls stationed at this outpost, counting even the ones still locked up without collars.

Even a group brawl might not take down those slimes.

Hiding to avoid the fight? Impossible.

Judging from their movement patterns, those slimes were clearly coming straight for him.

Liang Chuan's gaze shifted toward the Electro Slime Condensate stored on his workbench.

Could it be revenge?

Had he killed too many Electro Slimes recently to craft Basic Control Collars, and now they'd come for payback?

Whatever the reason—

This battle was unavoidable.

Quietly, Liang Chuan climbed out the window on the other side of the hut.

He crept to the cage where his "spare" Hilichurls were kept, grabbed two without collars, and hurled them toward the direction of the Electro Slimes.

The two Hilichurls instantly drew the slimes' attention.

Crackle!

Bolts of lightning lashed out—

A sharp snap! echoed.

The Hilichurls were struck head-on; one was knocked unconscious, the other killed outright!

Liang Chuan's eyes widened.

He had never imagined that these slimes—creatures he'd casually farmed in the game—could be so lethally powerful in reality!

"Shhhk—crack!"

Seizing the moment, Liang Chuan cracked his whip, driving ten armed Hilichurls—those with stone axes and picks—toward the slimes.

The moment the creatures saw the glowing Electro Slimes, they froze, trembling in fear, some even turning to flee.

Liang Chuan had anticipated that.

Hilichurls were cowardly and submissive by nature.

He activated the collars' shock circuits instantly.

The first Hilichurl to turn and run was struck down on the spot, body convulsing in paralysis—

forced to watch as the slimes inched closer, preparing to "electrotherapy" him even harder.

The rest of the Hilichurls understood immediately:

running meant instant electrocution—and a slow death.

Only by fighting could they cling to a sliver of hope.

The remaining nine Hilichurls roared and charged at the Electro Slimes.

Their crude stone tools struck the slimes, only making the lightning surge even fiercer.

Their attacks could wound the slimes—

but not kill them.

Meanwhile, Liang Chuan crouched by the side of his hut, crossbow in hand.

This was the product of an entire month of scavenging in the forest.

Now he waited.

Waited for the perfect shot—

one that would end it in a single strike.

The slimes and Hilichurls were still entangled.

Perhaps enraged, the slimes stopped moving and began gathering energy, the air vibrating with crackling power.

That was his cue—

the "casting wind-up" moment!

Swish!!!

He pulled the trigger.

The bolt shot out, piercing cleanly into the slime's core.

BOOM!!!

The slime exploded, collapsing into a puddle of fading light.

At that instant, a cheerful chime echoed in Liang Chuan's mind.

"Huh? Leveled up to 2?"

Excited, Liang Chuan opened his personal status panel.
