Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Our Goal Is to – Eat Rhodes Island out of House and Home

After approaching the car, Ace peered inside and found nothing wrong—except for the Young Dragon sleeping soundly in Outcast's arms.

"So the reason is that you found this little Wyvern named Kanna halfway, and then she ate all your day's worth of food, which prevented you from returning to the island as planned?"

In the dining hall, looking at a group of colleagues feasting, Ace's eyes widened like brass bells; he never imagined that Elite Operators like Outcast and Misery would be late for such a laughable reason.

Misery shrugged. Previously, if anyone dared to be late in front of him with such an excuse, he would have given them a good slap, but when he encountered such a thing himself, he couldn't help but sigh that sometimes reality was more like a joke than a lie.

Next, Kanna, who had woken up after entering the island and was led by Outcast to the dining hall, looking like a well-behaved girl, showed them what an extremely hungry dragon was like.

After receiving news of Outcast's safe arrival, Kal'tsit, along with Gavial, who was on duty, and her apprentice Ya Ye, came to the dining hall and saw everyone enjoying dinner—of course, if one ignored the dining plate in front of a certain young girl, which was almost as tall as she was.

Having already learned the details through her earpiece, even someone as composed as Kal'tsit was momentarily stunned upon seeing it in person.

Ya Ye walked over to Kanna, "Eating so much at once, can her body really handle it?"

"I had my doubts at first too, but look..."

Outcast reached out and patted Kanna's head, diverting Kanna's attention from the food in front of her, then she pointed to Kanna's flat stomach.

"Even though the food she ate was almost half her size, there's actually no trace of it. I even suspect the food transfers to another dimension after entering her mouth."

Seeing the people in front of her start discussing, Kanna redirected her attention to the food in front of her. After all, compared to others for whom food only provides energy for movement, her situation of converting food energy into "electricity" and storing it in her body was completely beyond what a normal person could imagine.

For her, listening to those utterly incomprehensible and highly professional medical terms from the side was less appealing than eating more.

After all, what she didn't understand, she still wouldn't understand, but what she ate could quickly become a part of her combat strength.

When everyone else had more or less finished eating, Kanna also "timely" ended her meal, then sat there obediently.

Kal'tsit checked the time. Although she had developed some interest in this Wyvern Young Dragon, it was too late. Since the Young Dragon was already on the island, she would have a chance to study the girl in front of her sooner or later, so she decided that Outcast would continue to look after the child for another night. Since Kanna was brought to the island by her, abruptly separating Kanna from her and taking her elsewhere would inevitably provoke an overreaction from this Young Dragon. It would be better to have Ya Ye take her to meet the other children tomorrow; with peers accompanying her then, Kanna would find it much easier to integrate.

As they were leaving the dining hall, Gavial looked at Kanna's retreating figure with an appreciative expression, rubbing her chin as she said,

"This little one can eat so much; if she were with us, she might well be enshrined as the next village leader."

???

Seeing Ya Ye's puzzled look, Gavial patted her shoulder.

"You see, under normal circumstances, the purpose of eating is to replenish energy for one's body, and the strength of digestive ability represents how quickly a person absorbs energy. The fact that this little one eats so much and doesn't gain weight can only mean one thing: her body not only has a large energy deficit but also extremely high digestive capabilities. When she starts utilizing her body's energy, her previous reserves will become the foundational power for her to soar."
