It was a dark and tiring night after training ,that night, Kira came home battered and bruised, every step sent pain crawling through her body — pain that had long become familiar, all she wanted was a shower, something to eat, and a bed to collapse into.... Nothing more.
She entered her room quietly, exhaling a long, trembling sigh that carried exhaustion deeper than her bones,Her bag slid from her shoulder and hit the floor with a dull thud, she pulled off her training clothes and stepped under the shower.
The warm water ran down her skin, tracing every bruise, every mark — reminders of how much she'd endured. For a few brief minutes, the world faded into the sound of water and the faint music playing from her phone.
Then — silence.
The lights flickered once, then went out completely, the music cut mid-note, leaving only the dripping of water echoing in the darkness .
Her breath hitched, the familiar hum of the lamp was gone, she finished quickly, stepping out of the shower and into the heavy quiet , the air felt wrong.
Cold. Still.
There was a smell — faint at first, then stronger,Metallic and Sharp.
Her heart began to race with fear, the feeling of something wrong....
Then came a noise.
A dull thud.
Another.
And a muffled cry.
She froze, her fingers gripping the edge of the bathroom door.
"Dad? …Mom? …Tia?"
No answer.
She slipped into her clothes, her hands trembling, and stepped into the hallway barefoot, the moonlight seeped through the curtains, painting long, silver lines across the floor, something inside her already knew this wasn't right, she turned the corner toward the living room — and stopped breathing.....
The world shattered in a single glance.
Blood.
So much blood.
It covered the walls, soaked the carpet, glistened under the faint light of the moon. The smell was everywhere — heavy, warm, unbearable.
Her eyes darted around the room, searching for them, her father's chair was overturned, his newspaper torn and soaked in red. Her mother's hand — only her hand — lay a few feet away from the couch.
Her knees hit the floor before she even realized she was falling, the world was breaking around her ,her voice came out broken, barely more than a whisper.
"No… please… no…"
Her tears mixed with the blood on the tiles.
The photo frame beside her was cracked — inside it, a picture of all of them smiling, untouched by the horror that now filled the room....
The world tilted around her.
Her mind screamed to wake up, to move, but her body was frozen.
Then — she felt it.
A presence,Massive, Cold,Breathing just behind her, the air around her seemed to thicken, pressing against her skin.
She turned sharply — instincts took control. Her fist shot forward, hitting something solid, like stone, she followed with a swift strike from her elbow, aiming for where its ribs should've been,Nothing, It didn't even move then a dark blur moved toward her, She ducked, spun, and drove her leg upward, catching it hard across what felt like its chest — but before she could land, something caught her ankle and twisted.
The world spun — her back hit the wall with a sickening crack, pain shot through her lungs, but she pushed herself up again, coughing blood. She launched forward, trying to throw her weight low and knock it off balance, but it caught her by the throat mid-motion ,her fingers clawed at the grip tightening around her neck — she could feel the heat of its breath, hear it growling softly in the dark , she swung her arm up, ramming her elbow into what felt like its shoulder.
The grip loosened just enough for her to drop to the floor ,She tried to crawl, dragging herself toward the door, gasping for air then she felt something heavy hit her head...
"No… I can't ...die here…"
Her fingertips brushed the handle — hope flickered — and then a crushing force slammed into her back, throwing her down again ..she saw him running away.
The cold floor pressed against her cheek.
Her vision blurred,her pulse slowed.
Through the roaring in her ears, she heard it — a voice calling her name.
Faint,Familiar.
"Kira…"
That voice. She knew it.
Her lips trembled into the faintest smile.
Tears ran down her face, warm against her cold skin.
He's here… I'm safe…
Then, everything faded into darkness.
