Nothing, I am not lost anywhere, I said to him in a bit confident way so that he could believe me.
He smiled and looked at me, and it really seemed that he believed me.
Then he suddenly started the car.
"Yuan, where are we going? Are you going to treat me to a meal? Then let me tell you this very clearly, if you really want to treat me, then you should wait for my cheat day to come, which is almost two days away. Then I'll eat all the cakes and pastries that you're going to treat me with," I said.
He laughed a little and while driving, he looked at me for a second and then said,
"Stop pretending."
I got a little shocked hearing that from him.
"Pretending?" I repeated that word again. "Why do I have to pretend something?" I asked him.
He said, "I know that you don't like cakes or pastries. You are not a girl who likes that. You like pancakes, you like ice creams, in fact you love them and that's your thing. Then now when you are suddenly saying and asking me to treat you with some pastries or cakes, I understood it right away that this is not you. You said all these things just to divert my mind or change the topic, I know that," he said while looking quite focused on his driving.
"Yuan actually, don't get me wrong..." I said and after that I was about to say something more but before that he cut my conversation midway and said,
"I never get you wrong. Xu Yuan never gets his Zhao Shiza wrong. I hope you know this now," he said.
Hearing this much trust from him is really a big achievement for me because I never thought that he would trust me this much. Indeed love is really a blessing and only blessed ones get the love they crave for. I don't know if I am among those blessed ones or not, but sitting beside him right now is really how the blessed ones look like.
For me, his presence with me, him even knowing about my existence in this world, is a blessing.
I said these things to myself without letting a single word come out of my mouth.
"I know you might be feeling nervous right now and your Pa may get angry, but if we have already decided the paths for ourselves on which we are going to walk, then there is no need of being nervous," he said while holding my hand with his one hand.
I smiled while looking at him because I know how Pa is going to react over our relationship. Everything is already messed up in our lives. I really don't know whether our relationship will be able to survive this or whether it will just get broken, but no matter what the end result of our relationship is going to be, I'll always cherish each and every moment of breathing beside my Yuan Yuan. I won't regret anything at all and whatever memories we have created together are enough for me to live this whole life peacefully with them.
I thought this in my mind and then suddenly the car stopped in front of my home.
For a second my Mr. Heart skipped a beat, but then immediately I stabilized it.
Yuan looked at me and said,
"Don't fear, Zhao Shiza. When your Xu Yuan is near you, you don't need to worry about anything. At worst, I'll run away by taking you with me," he said.
I laughed hearing that from him and said,
"Your rhyming talent is indeed good but running away while taking me away from Pa is really very hard," I said.
He smiled and said,
"Your Yuan Yuan is a master of playing hard games, so don't stress or bother about anything. I'll run away right away by taking you away from your Pa," he said.
"Why does it seem like you're so much interested in going with this option?" I asked him.
He smiled and said,
"Yes, it might be true because your Yuan Yuan can't let you live away from me, not even for a single passing second," he said.
Then he got off from the car.
I followed him from behind by walking with tiny steps intentionally so that it would take more time to reach home.
But Yuan noticed that too. Nothing can be hidden from his sharp eyes and without even looking at me he said,
"Stop taking your kindergarten steps. We are just five steps away from reaching your home. This technique of yours won't work at all."
Then those five steps were covered in less than five seconds and we reached outside my home.
Yuan pressed the bell.
The door immediately opened.
I was praying that Pa got some important meeting and got stuck there, but I was wrong.
Pa opened the door and saw us.
Yuan smiled in his most appealing way which is easy to melt even a stone, but not my Pa.
"Mr. Zhao, I am Xu Yuan, your daughter Zhao Shiza's boyfriend."
He said this to Pa within a second, just right away.
I didn't expect him to be this much straightforward but it's indeed a wrong approach for my Pa.
Pa didn't say anything to him, not even to me. He just fully opened the main door from which he was trying to say that we should get inside and then we'll talk.
Then we both went inside the home and Pa closed the door.
The tension in the room was quite unavoidable because there was going to be a clash between an overly protective Pa and an overly protective boyfriend which indeed felt like a doomsday.
I said this to myself.
Then Pa went inside the kitchen and brought the tea from there and put it on the table in our living room and kneeled down there and started making it.
Yuan immediately kneeled down too with Pa and started helping him in making the tea.
Then while making the tea Pa said to Yuan,
"This is Hangzhou tea. I used to drink this tea every time when I was studying there in university during my youth. This tea is my favourite one and do you know whenever I drink this tea I never let any of my friends have it, not even a single sip from my cup. And do you know what they all called me?" he asked Yuan.
"What?" Yuan said to Pa.
Pa laughed a little while pouring the tea into the cup and handing it over to Yuan.
"My friends said, Zhao, you are so overly possessive about the things you like the most. What if this possessiveness becomes for some person in future? Then it is going to be terrible."
Then he looked at Yuan and said,
"And you know Xu Yuan, Xiao Shiza is the person for whom I am overly possessive. She is the one in my life. Since her birth I didn't even let her get into someone else's hands. Even when she was in the hospital after she was born, I didn't even let the nurses touch her. I did all those things that they had to do for her because I didn't want anyone to touch my daughter," he said to Yuan.
While saying it, we both could see in his eyes what that situation used to look like because it seemed like those scenes were still playing in his eyes where we could see them.
And I also didn't know about this incident that Pa was telling Yuan just now.
I only knew till today that Pa loves me way too much, but hearing this from him just made me realize that he didn't only love me way too much, in fact his whole life has gone by loving me so much.
I was never able to understand my Pa's love for me, but I think right now I just got an idea about his love for me, just an idea because getting to know how much Pa loves me might need many more lifetimes for me to understand a father's eternal love for his daughter.
