Year 1483 of the Sea Circle Calendar.

Three months remained before one of the greatest conflicts in history the God Valley War, a world-shaking battle that would gather the most powerful figures across the seas.

A few days earlier, somewhere deep within the Grand Line, on an unnamed island…

A young man sat alone on the beach, his body trembling, eyes bloodshot, his gaze fixed upon the rolling waves that ceaselessly washed over the pale sands.

"Why? Why does it always have to be this way?" His voice cracked as he shouted at the sea. "I finally crossed into a world where I could have a real family, and this is how it ends? Damn those Celestial Dragons!"

"If I ever gain the power to rule this world… I'll make sure every last one of you dies! Not a single one of you will be left alive you'll all rot in hell!"

This young man's name was Kael Draven, once an avid One Piece fan from Earth.

Ten years ago, on the very day he came of age and left the orphanage, a speeding truck smashed through a red light and met him head-on. He didn't even feel pain before everything went white.

When he opened his eyes again, he found himself reborn in the world of One Piece, in a humble fishing family.

Even more astonishing this was decades before the Great Pirate Era, in the age of Rocks D. Xebec, when emperors roamed the seas and even a Marine Admiral was nothing special.

Kael quickly realized how insignificant he was in such an age of monsters. Strength was everything.

So, when he came of age, he began training relentlessly while helping his parents at sea, determined to grow stronger to one day gain the power to protect those he loved.

Yet no matter how hard he trained, the results came slower and slower. His body reached its limit, his potential stagnated.

Still, he refused to give up. Every day he stood watch over the sea, praying that one of those mysterious fruits of power the Devil Fruits might somehow drift his way.

But that miracle never came.

Kael remained an ordinary man stronger than most, perhaps, but nothing more.

Still, life wasn't bad. His parents worked hard, and though they weren't rich, their family lived comfortably, filled with laughter and warmth.

Until four days ago.

That day destroyed everything.

On their way back from a long fishing trip, Kael and his parents crossed paths with several visiting Celestial Dragons arrogant nobles from the Holy Land who amused themselves by hunting "inferior beings."

To them, the lives of commoners were beneath notice less valuable than their pet dogs. Even breathing the same air as "lowborns" disgusted them.

They were preparing for the upcoming "God Valley Hunting Game," they said, and had come to this island simply to sharpen their marksmanship.

By using real, living targets.

Kael's father reacted immediately, grabbing his son's wrist. "Run!" he shouted, dragging both Kael and his wife toward the trees.

But they hadn't taken more than three steps before a golden pistol barked, and a bullet tore through his father's throat. Warm blood splashed across the sand.

Kael heard his father's final words through gurgling breaths: "Don't… be rash. Take your mother… and run…"

But there was no time. The Celestial Dragons fired again, and both Kael and his mother collapsed, crimson soaking the sand beneath them.

Their killers laughed. To them, this was nothing more than a game.

Days passed before Kael's eyes fluttered open. He was alive barely.

The bullets had pierced his right chest, but his heart, oddly positioned on the left side of his body, had been spared.

When he tore the sheets from his bed and staggered outside, the world around him had already gone still.

The surviving villagers had covered the corpses with white cloth. Beneath those sheets, he saw his parents' names written in charcoal.

His whole body trembled violently.

This was agony beyond words.

He had finally known love only to lose it again, to the cruelty of those who saw themselves as gods.

"Take heart, child," the elderly village chief murmured, resting a hand on his shoulder. "They were Celestial Dragons… world nobles. We common folk can do nothing against them. Mourn, yes, but live on. You must be strong."

Kael said nothing. His face was calm, too calm.

After burying his parents beneath the great tree near their home, he packed his few belongings, tied them to his back, and prepared his small fishing boat.

"This… this is all because of those damned Celestial Dragons."

"World nobles? You're nothing but beasts in silk. One day, I'll tear your heads from your shoulders and grind them into dust!"

"From this day on, right or wrong means nothing to me. Anyone who stands in my way dies!"

Hatred burned in his eyes, fierce enough to scorch the heavens.

He knew he was still weak, nowhere near strong enough to challenge those who lived atop the Red Line.

But he would change that. He would set sail. He would hunt down the Devil Fruits the legendary treasures of the sea and claim their power for himself.

And one day, he would return to slaughter the monsters who had taken everything from him.

As he loosened the rope mooring his small fishing boat, Kael's resolve solidified like iron. He stepped aboard, pushing out into the open waters.

Then

Ding! Ding! Ding!

A series of crisp, mechanical chimes echoed inside his mind.

[Ding! Extreme killing intent detected! Congratulations, Host Advanced Conqueror's Haki awakened! Attribute Absorption System now fully activated!]

Kael froze. The boat rocked beneath him as a surge of power erupted inside his chest.

As a die-hard One Piece fan, he instantly recognized what had happened.

A system!

In fanfiction terms, that meant a "golden finger" a cheat ability that turned nobodies into legends.

With such a gift, even the weakest human could rise to stand among gods.

A fierce grin split his face. For the first time since his parents' death, Kael's heart beat with genuine excitement.

"All right, system… tell me what you can do."

[Ding! Attribute Absorption System: allows the Host to absorb the attributes, skills, and abilities of others including swordsmanship, physical strength, Haki, and even Devil Fruit powers. The stronger your opponent, the greater the absorption rate.]

"Absorb other people's powers, huh?" Kael's eyes gleamed. "So if I track down Rocks D. Xebec himself… could I surpass even him?"

He laughed, low and dangerous.

For the first time, vengeance no longer felt like a dream it was a goal within reach.
