Chapter 88 - Judgement at the Storm Front:

"When the storm is judged, only those who can endure its full fury are allowed to remain."

───────────────────────────

Hunt Within the Storm

Location: Storm Front, Biringan

The storm pressed down on the battlefield as if it intended to crush it completely.

Lightning tore across the sky in violent arcs. Wind dragged smoke and ash through the ruined streets. Fires spread unchecked, feeding on shattered homes and broken structures.

Babaylan soldiers and civilians moved together in tight clusters, trying to survive.

And inside that chaos, Kuroda moved freely.

Juan stepped forward, trident raised, eyes scanning every face.

"He is inside the formation," he said, voice controlled but urgent. "No one moves alone. Watch each other."

Renato shifted beside him, shield angled forward.

"Everyone stays within my line," he ordered. "If you break formation, you die."

A wounded civilian stumbled toward them.

"Help me," the man pleaded.

Renato's eyes locked on him.

Something was wrong.

The man's breathing was steady. Too steady.

"Stop," Renato said.

The man did not slow.

Muramasa materialized.

The blade drove forward from the man's hand, no hesitation.

Renato reacted immediately.

His shield snapped upward and caught the thrust at the last possible moment. The force drove him back half a step.

"Contact!" Renato shouted.

Juan moved instantly.

Lightning gathered at his trident.

"Heaven's Wrath!"

Bolts slammed down toward Kuroda's position.

Kuroda abandoned the disguise before impact. His body blurred as he shifted into another soldier within the group.

The lightning struck the previous location and tore the ground apart.

Smoke and debris filled the air.

When it cleared, three soldiers lay dead.

The real Kuroda was already moving again.

A Babaylan soldier turned and ran toward Juan.

"Sir, behind you!"

Juan did not react.

"Renato," he said calmly. "Left side. The runner."

Renato pivoted.

He charged forward with Azure Crash.

Kuroda blocked with Muramasa and redirected the force, sliding along the edge of the shield instead of taking it directly.

He countered immediately.

A crimson slash cut across Renato's ribs.

Blood started to drip.

Renato did not fall back.

He rotated his body and slammed the shield sideways in a close-range hook strike aimed at Kuroda's head.

Kuroda slipped under it.

Muramasa rose in a short arc.

Another cut opened across Renato's shoulder.

Kuroda stepped back.

"Pitiful, a battered child," he whispered.

His form shifted again.

Now he stood among a group of soldiers.

Juan raised his voice.

"All units, listen carefully. Do not engage anyone unless we call the target. You strike only when we confirm."

Panic spread through the formation.

A soldier hesitated, weapon shaking.

"Sir, what if we hit one of ours?"

"You hesitate, you die," Renato answered without looking back. "Trust the call."

Kuroda moved again.

This time, he attacked from within a group of civilians trying to retreat.

Muramasa swept outward.

A dark crimson wave cut through three bodies instantly.

Screams followed.

The formation broke for a moment.

That was all Kuroda needed.

He moved through the opening.

Juan reacted.

"Found you!"

He thrust his trident forward.

Plasma Thrust fired.

A concentrated beam of lightning cut through the smoke and struck toward Kuroda's position.

Kuroda raised Muramasa.

The blade met the beam directly.

The lightning split apart as the sword cut through its structure.

Kuroda stepped inside the attack.

Too close.

Muramasa drove forward.

Juan twisted his body, but the blade still cut across his torso.

Blood ran down his side.

Kuroda paused just long enough to observe.

"I see," he said quietly.

His eyes remained fixed on Juan.

"You are the human son of a Sea Goddess and a Sky God. God level threat indeed."

Juan stepped back, tightening his grip.

Renato moved beside him again.

Both wounded.

Still standing.

Juan spoke without looking away.

"We are clearly at a disadvantage against him."

Kuroda said nothing.

Muramasa pulsed.

The blood it had drawn was already being absorbed.

His stance shifted slightly.

He adjusted to Renato's timing.

To Juan's attack rhythm.

To their coordination.

He moved again.

Multiple figures appeared.

Soldiers.

Civilians.

Running.

Crying for help.

Renato narrowed his eyes.

"Instructor. Watch their movement. Our enemy is a highly trained and experienced soldier. He will still move as one even with a civilian's face."

Juan focused.

The difference was subtle.

Real civilians moved in panic.

Kuroda moved with intent.

Renato stepped forward.

"Second from the right."

Juan did not hesitate.

A lightning bolt fell instantly.

The strike forced the target to move.

Kuroda broke formation.

Confirmed.

Renato surged forward.

He drove his shield straight ahead in a charging strike, aiming to pin Kuroda against a broken wall.

Kuroda deflected and rotated.

Renato followed with a rising shield uppercut, using the bottom edge to force Kuroda's guard upward.

Kuroda adjusted mid-motion.

Muramasa slipped past the edge again.

A cut opened along Renato's arm.

He ignored it. Renato stepped in deeper and slammed his shoulder into Kuroda's chest, using his full body weight to disrupt his balance.

Kuroda staggered half a step.

Juan moved immediately.

Razor Hurricane formed.

Compressed wind spiraled outward and cut off Kuroda's escape angles.

Debris lifted and spun violently.

Kuroda was forced to reposition.

Renato did not let him reset.

He charged forward again and leapt.

This time, he descended with a hammer strike aimed at Kuroda's temple.

Kuroda blocked.

The impact cracked the ground beneath them.

Renato chained the motion into a spinning backhand strike, catching Kuroda across the side and forcing him to shift again.

Juan followed with another lightning strike.

Kuroda evaded at the last possible moment.

The lightning grazed him.

His armor cracked slightly.

Kuroda's eyes sharpened and moved again.

He became faster.

He disappeared into the shadows again.

A civilian fell in front of Juan.

A child cried beside the body.

A civilian engkanto rushed to their side in an effort to cover them from harm until they were dragged altogether by Biringan Soldiers to safety.

Renato stepped forward.

"Stay in our defense perimeter!"

The soldiers hesitated.

They could not tell who was real anymore.

Kuroda used that moment.

Muramasa swept.

Another crimson wave tore through the group.

Renato reacted instantly.

"Wall of Giants!"

A massive shield-shaped spiritual barrier rose in front of them.

The slash wave struck it head-on.

The shield cracked, but held.

Civilians behind them collapsed in fear.

Some screamed.

Some froze.

Juan stepped forward through the pressure.

"Now!"

He raised his trident high.

"Heaven's Hammer!"

A massive bolt formed above them.

Focused.

Condensed.

Then it fell.

Kuroda leapt away but the strike detonated behind him.

The shockwave tore through nearby structures and sent debris flying.

Kuroda emerged from the blast zone.

His armor showed visible damage now.

But his stance remained steady.

Then he stopped.

Not from injury.

From awareness.

Juan felt it first.

His expression changed.

"Wait."

Renato turned.

The sky shifted.

Far beyond their position, something massive began to form.

Emerald light spread across the horizon.

Layer after layer.

Endless.

Kuroda looked up.

Recognition appeared in his eyes.

"...Datu Alon."

The clouds above Biringan filled with blades.

Countless.

Forming.

Aligning.

The battlefield dimmed under the green light.

Civilians fell silent.

Soldiers froze.

Fear spread faster than the storm.

Juan tightened his grip.

"That is not ours."

Renato steadied himself.

"No."

The first layer began to move.

The sky itself prepared to descend.

And even Kuroda did not look away.

───────────────────────────

Clash of Two Storms

Location: Storm Front, Biringan

The first blades fell.

They descended straight from the sky at lethal speed, cutting cleanly through everything beneath them. Roofs split apart. Stone streets fractured. Anyone caught outside solid cover was cut down instantly.

Babaylan soldiers reacted immediatiely, pulling civilians inward and tightening formation.

Renato stepped forward and anchored himself at the front.

"Close in! Stay behind me!"

Azure Temple activated.

Energy surged outward from his shield and formed a reinforced spirit temple. Renato controlled its shape, thickening the upper structure where the impacts were strongest. The first wave struck with violent force. Each blade hammered the spiritual temple in rapid succession. The layers trembled as pressure built across its surface.

Cracks spread.

Renato reinforced them immediately.

"I will hold this!" Renato shouted.

Inside the spiritual temple, fear spread quickly. Civilians dropped low, covering their heads. Some clung to each other. Others froze in place, unable to move under the sound of constant impacts.

Juan ignored the sky and anticipated sneak attacks.

From the outside, a wounded soldier rushed toward the exterior of the spiritual construct.

"Help me!"

A guard rushed forward to assist.

"Hold position!" Renato ordered.

Juan's gaze fixed on the man outside.

His movement was unnatural.

He showed a faint smile and suddenly... Muramasa reanimated.

The blade thrust forward and cut through the guard without resistance.

Kuroda stepped into the dome as he threw the guard's lifeless body with a swing of his blade.

"He is inside," Renato said.

Juan moved at once.

He closed the distance without hesitation and engaged Kuroda in close quarters. His trident drove forward in a direct thrust aimed at the chest. Kuroda blocked with Muramasa, but the impact forced him back a step.

Juan followed immediately.

He shifted his grip and drove the shaft across Kuroda's midsection, then reversed the motion into a rising strike that lifted Kuroda's guard. Kuroda attempted to slip away, but Juan stepped in and struck again, forcing him to remain engaged.

Kuroda countered with a diagonal cut.

The blade opened a shallow wound across Juan's shoulder.

Juan did not retreat.

He pressed forward with a sequence of strikes that forced Kuroda into defense. A thrust aimed at the throat transitioned into a lateral sweep that drove Kuroda sideways. Juan stepped across and delivered a close-range strike with the base of the trident into Kuroda's ribs.

The impact pushed Kuroda toward the edge of the dome.

Another wave of blades struck the barrier.

Renato reinforced the structure again. The dome bent under pressure, then stabilized as he redistributed the force across its surface.

Inside, panic continued to build.

Juan maintained pressure.

When Kuroda attempted to shift form, Juan cut off the movement by stepping into his space and forcing another exchange. Muramasa clashed with the trident again. Sparks scattered between them.

"Drive him out!" Renato shouted.

Juan adjusted his approach.

A forward thrust forced Kuroda to guard again. Juan stepped in and struck low with the shaft, disrupting his footing. Kuroda tried to slip past him, but Juan intercepted and drove his shoulder into him, forcing him backward again.

Kuroda retaliated with a fast upward cut.

Juan redirected the blade with the trident's shaft and answered with a heavy downward strike that forced Kuroda lower.

The ground cracked beneath them.

Juan stepped in once more and delivered a full-force horizontal strike to the torso.

Kuroda blocked with the Muramasa and was still pushed out of the dome.

Juan did not pursue.

He stopped at the boundary and turned his focus upward.

He raised his trident.

Lightning gathered in sustained arcs. Wind followed, forming a rotating current around him.

"There is only one true ruler of the sky."

Storm God activated.

The cost struck immediately. Juan's muscles tightened as he forced lightning and wind into a single controlled system. His breathing slowed as he stabilized the output.

Above him, the storm formed.

Lightning began striking in controlled patterns, targeting dense clusters of descending blades and breaking them apart. At the same time, powerful rotating winds surged upward, tearing through the falling blades and breaking their structure before they could reach the ground.

The clash intensified.

Blades continued to fall in massive waves.

Lightning shattered them in bursts.

Wind tore through what remained.

Renato adjusted his the Azure Temple again, now reinforcing only the outer perimeter as the pressure inside the dome decreased.

Outside, Kuroda rose and observed.

His eyes remained fixed on Juan.

The storm above began to change.

Juan let out a controlled breath.

Then he roared.

The Storm God intensified.

Lightning increased in frequency and force, striking entire clusters of blades at once and destroying them before they could descend further. The winds surged stronger, expanding outward and upward, catching the falling blades and tearing them apart from within the storm itself.

The system reached its peak.

The descending blades broke apart completely within Juan's range.

Fragments scattered and dissolved under the combined force of lightning and wind.

The Emerald Judgement dissolved against the overwhelming power of the true storm.

The sky above them cleared and pushed away from the Storm Front.

For the first time since the attack began, there was silence.

Renato exhaled and released his technique.

Azure Temple dissolved.

The temple disassembled, its energy dispersing into the air as the immediate threat above them vanished. Civilians slowly lifted their heads, realizing the pressure was gone.

Kuroda stood still from afar.

He watched the destruction of the storm with focused attention.

"The Emerald Judgement...was pushed back," he whispered to himself.

Juan remained in position, maintaining control as the last fragments of the blades were destroyed.

The Storm God stabilized.

Kuroda stepped forward.

He raised Muramasa.

"Then let us see what happens when that power is taken."

He spoke clearly.

"Punishment of the Gods."

"Mirror of Souls."

Muramasa pulsed.

The blood it had taken reacted.

Kuroda's body shifted.

His form reshaped into Juan's likeness.

Darker.

Distorted.

Muramasa followed, transforming into a corrupted version of Habagat ni Silang. Dark Lightning crawled across it in unstable patterns.

Kuroda lifted the weapon.

"When I draw blood, I take more than your face," he said. "I take what you can do."

Renato stepped forward again, shield ready, eyes locked on the new threat.

"He copied your form, Juan," Renato said. "And that Sandata… it feels like it will work just like yours."

Juan steadied himself, blood still running down his side.

"So it is true...it can also copy other Sandata's and their powers."

Kuroda mirrored his stance exactly.

Two identical figures now faced each other beneath a sky that had just been torn apart.

And the battlefield understood what that meant.

───────────────────────────

Storm Surge

Location: Storm Front, Biringan

Juan moved first.

He drove forward with full intent, trident leveled toward Kuroda's chest. Renato followed a half step behind with his shield raised. There was no hesitation now. No uncertainty. The last cluster of civilians were already pulling away from the battlefield. The space between combatants had finally opened.

Kuroda stepped into them.

Muramasa taking the dark form of the Habagat ni Silang met the trident in a direct clash. Steel rang out as both weapons locked. Sparks burst at the point of contact. Juan twisted his wrist and redirected the blade downward, forcing Kuroda's guard low. Renato entered immediately from the flank.

"Azure Light."

A concentrated blast erupted from his shield at close range.

Kuroda shifted his stance and raised the dark Habagat ni Silang. The blast struck the weapon and dispersed, but the force pushed him sideways. Juan stepped in, he spun, and struck with the flat surface of his trident's blade into Kuroda's upper body. The impact landed cleanly.

Kuroda absorbed the hit and answered with a short-range cut aimed at Juan's neck.

Juan tilted his head just enough. The blade grazed past him.

He responded with a rapid three-point sequence. A thrust toward the chest, a reverse sweep aimed at the knees, then a vertical strike from above. Kuroda blocked the first, evaded the second, and caught the third with his weapon raised horizontally.

The ground beneath them cracked.

Renato did not wait.

He drove forward with a shield smash, forcing Kuroda off balance again. The impact pushed Kuroda backward, but he used the momentum to rotate and break the pressure.

"Ocean Cannon."

A black aqua beam bursted outward.

Renato intercepted.

The attack struck his shield directly. The impact traveled through his arm, but he held position. Energy accumulated across the surface of the Kalasag.

Juan stepped past him.

"Plasma Thrust."

A beam made of supercharged electricity fired point-blank.

Kuroda twirled the dark Habagat ni Silang in front of him and deflected the beam away towards a ruined defense tower, but the burst forced him to retreat two steps. Juan followed immediately, closing distance again before Kuroda could reset.

Their weapons collided again in rapid succession.

This time, Kuroda matched him.

The dark Habagat moved with the same structure, the same timing, the same weight distribution. He mirrored Juan's technique exactly. Every thrust met a counter. Every strike was answered.

"I can now match you," Kuroda said.

Juan did not respond.

He pressed harder.

He stepped inside Kuroda's range and drove his knee forward into Kuroda's midsection. The hit disrupted his stance. Juan rotated his trident and slashed upward.

Kuroda evaded and retreated with a somersault.

Renato entered again.

He pivoted his body and delivered a rising shield strike under Kuroda's guard, lifting him slightly off the ground. As Kuroda came down, Renato slammed the shield downward into his shoulder.

The impact drove him to one knee.

Kuroda's eyes sharpened.

He moved.

The dark Habagat surged with energy.

"Heaven's Wrath."

Bursts of lightning descended.

Juan reacted instantly.

He drove his trident upward.

"Heaven's Wrath."

Two storms rained lightning above them.

Lightning struck against lightning, detonating mid-air. The shockwave tore through the surrounding structures and forced Renato to brace his footing.

Kuroda moved and stepped into close range battle again.

This time, his strikes came faster.

He drove the blade toward Juan's torso. Juan parried and shifted his footing, but Kuroda chained the motion into a lateral cut that forced Juan to step back.

Renato intercepted.

He slammed his shield into the attack, absorbing the force again.

Energy built rapidly across the Kalasag.

"Now."

Renato released it.

"Kinetic Refraction."

A concentrated blast erupted forward.

The attack struck Kuroda directly and launched him across the ground. He skidded through debris and crashed against a fractured wall.

Dust rose.

Juan did not wait.

"Heaven's Hammer."

A single massive bolt descended.

Kuroda rolled out of the impact zone at the last possible moment. The strike detonated behind him, tearing the wall apart completely.

He rose from the debris.

His breathing remained steady.

"Impressive," Kuroda said.

He lifted the dark Habagat.

"Let us continue."

He moved again.

This time, he advanced directly toward Renato.

Muramasa shifted back into form mid-motion. The blade carved forward with a fast diagonal cut. Renato caught it on his shield, but the impact drove him backward several steps.

Kuroda pressed the attack.

He chained multiple strikes in succession, forcing Renato to remain on defense. Each impact struck the shield and fed energy into it, but the pressure mounted quickly.

Juan closed from the side.

"Razor Hurricane."

Wind erupted outward in a tight spiral.

The rotating blades of air forced Kuroda to disengage. He stepped out of range as the hurricane carved into the ground between them.

Juan followed with a forward thrust, using the momentum of the wind to increase his speed.

Kuroda blocked again.

Their weapons locked once more.

"You fight for the same side that condemned your family," Kuroda said.

Juan leaned forward.

"You will pay for this dearly."

He broke the lock and delivered a heavy strike to Kuroda's side.

Renato stepped in simultaneously and drove a short-range shield bash into Kuroda's chest.

The combined force pushed him back again.

Kuroda recovered faster this time.

He raised the dark Habagat.

"Plasma Thrust."

The beam fired.

Juan twisted his body and deflected it with the shaft of his trident, redirecting the attack upward.

Renato stepped forward.

"Azure Light."

Multiple blasts fired in quick succession.

Kuroda cut through two, evaded the third, and absorbed the fourth partially against his weapon.

He retaliated immediately.

"Heaven's Hammer."

Juan reacted.

"Heaven's Hammer."

Two massive bolts collided mid-descent.

The explosion that followed lit the battlefield and shattered the ground beneath them.

Renato stepped through the shockwave.

"Wall of Giants."

A massive barrier rose just behind them, angled to protect the last retreating civilians and soldiers as they exited the battlefield.

The final groups moved beyond the perimeter.

No one remained behind them.

Renato lowered his stance.

"They are clear."

Juan exhaled slowly.

His grip tightened.

Kuroda stood across from them.

He adjusted his stance.

The battlefield had changed.

No more civilians.

No more restraint.

Juan stepped forward.

Renato moved with him.

Kuroda raised the dark Habagat.

Three figures stood within the open battlefield.

Energy gathered around all of them.

The air itself began to distort under the pressure.

Juan spoke first.

"Now we finish this."

Renato's expression sharpened.

"Agreed."

The ground beneath them cracked as all three surged forward at once.

Steel collided again.

Lightning gathered.

Wind began to rise.

Renato's shield pulsed with stored energy.

Kuroda's blade pulsed with stolen power.

Juan's trident surged with the rage of sky and sea.

The battle escalated beyond restraint.

And at the center of it, power began to reach a threshold.

Juan lifted his weapon.

Renato did the same.

Both spoke at the same time.

"Punishment of the Gods!"

The battlefield trembled as the next phase of the battle began.

───────────────────────────

Maximum Output

Location: Storm Front, Biringan

Juan moved first.

"Punishment of the Gods."

"Heaven's Judgement."

The battlefield answered him.

Water surged from below as the ground split apart. The battlefield was suddenly drowned in salt water. Aqua geysers erupted upward in violent columns, launching debris high into the air. At the same time, the sky responded. Massive lightning bolts gathered and descended in controlled strikes, each impact shaking the entire Storm Front.

Wind followed.

A tornado with razor winds expanded outward from Juan's position, forming a rotating system that engulfed the battlefield. The winds cut through loose debris and lifted entire sections of broken stone into the air. Everything began to orbit around a single center.

Juan rose.

He levitated at the eye of the storm, his body held in place by the balance of wind, lightning, and water. The trident remained steady in his hand as the entire system stabilized around him.

Renato adjusted immediately.

He stepped onto a rising slab of stone and stabilized his footing as it began to rotate within the vortex. His shield pulsed.

"Punishment of the Gods."

"Stalwart of the Heavens."

The Kalasag ni Bernardo responded.

Armor formed across his body in layers of reinforced spiritual steel. Each segment locked into place with precision, covering his torso, limbs, and shoulders. His stance shifted as the weight settled, but his balance held.

Behind him, wings formed.

Not for display.

For control.

Renato leaned forward.

His posture changed from defense to offense.

He launched.

The wings drove him forward across the rotating debris, closing distance toward Kuroda in a direct line.

Kuroda did not retreat.

He raised the corrupted Habagat ni Silang.

"Punishment of the Gods."

"Heaven's Judgement."

The storm reacted again.

A second system formed.

Dark water surged upward, clashing with Juan's geysers. Blackened lightning tore down from above, meeting the descending bolts mid-air. Crimson energy spread through the winds as Kuroda layered his own power into the vortex.

The battlefield became a war of elements.

Two storms occupying the same space.

One system tried to dominate.

The other refused to yield.

Kuroda stepped onto a rotating slab and launched himself forward.

Renato met him first.

Their clash shook the debris beneath them.

Renato drove his fist forward, reinforced by the full output of Stalwart of the Heavens. The strike landed against Kuroda's guard and forced him back across the rotating surface.

Kuroda recovered instantly.

Dark Habagat ni Silang shifted.

A dark crimson slash carved forward at close range.

Renato did not evade.

He absorbed it.

The armor held. Energy flowed into the Kalasag as it converted impact into stored force.

Renato stepped in again.

He delivered a second strike.

This time, Kuroda was pushed off the debris and into open air.

Juan moved.

He extended his arm.

"Heaven's Hammer."

Lightning descended in sequence, forcing Kuroda to twist his body mid-air to avoid direct impact. The bolts struck around him, limiting his movement and forcing him back toward the rotating debris field.

Kuroda landed and launched again.

He targeted Juan.

"Plasma Thrust."

A dark beam cut through the storm toward the center.

Juan countered with his own Plasma Thrust.

The storm intensified.

Debris accelerated.

Geysers rose higher.

Lightning struck faster.

Renato re-engaged.

He moved across three rotating platforms in rapid succession, adjusting his footing with each transition. His wings corrected his trajectory mid-leap as he closed distance again.

He struck from above.

Kuroda raised his weapon to block, but Renato drove through the defense with raw force. The impact forced Kuroda downward onto another slab, cracking it on contact.

Juan followed.

"Razor Hurricane."

The winds compressed and surged inward.

The vortex tightened.

Kuroda's movement space shrank.

He answered immediately.

Dark Razor Hurricane formed.

The two wind systems collided, tearing through each other and destabilizing the air between them.

The battlefield roared.

Kuroda stepped through the chaos.

He attacked Renato with a rapid sequence of slashes, each one reinforced by dark crimson and storm energy. Renato absorbed them all. Each impact added to the energy building within his armor.

His stance remained grounded.

He waited.

Juan shifted position above.

He drew back his arm.

The trident aligned.

The storm responded.

The ocean answered.

Behind him, two forms began to take shape.

One rose from the water.

A figure with the form of a goddess. Her lower body flowed like a living ocean. Her presence stabilized the rising tides.

The other descended from the sky.

A figure with wings spread wide, lightning forming across his body. His presence intensified the storm above.

Both placed their hands over Juan's.

The trident pulsed.

Kuroda saw it.

He responded.

The air behind him split open.

A massive form emerged.

The Bakunawa.

Dark.

Coiled.

Its presence warped the surrounding energy, transferring power into Kuroda's weapon.

Muramasa surged.

The corrupted Habagat ni Silang burned with crimson and black lightning.

Kuroda raised it.

He stepped forward.

Renato moved first.

He ascended above the vortex.

The wings drove him higher until he broke past the storm layer.

He turned.

Below him, the battlefield condensed into a single point of conflict.

Energy surged across his body.

Every impact he absorbed gathered into his right arm.

He pulled it back.

His entire body aligned behind the strike.

He descended.

"Punishment of the Gods: Planet Buster!"

He fell like a comet.

The air ignited around him as he broke through the storm layer and drove straight toward Kuroda.

At the same time, Juan moved.

He stepped forward within the eye.

He rotated his body.

The trident pulled back.

"Punishment of the Gods: Storm Piercer!"

Every force within the storm aligned into a single point.

Lightning.

Wind.

Water.

All condensed into the weapon.

He threw.

The trident cut through the storm like a spear of pure energy.

Kuroda answered.

"Punishment of the Gods: Arc of Blood and Shadow!"

He swung.

The Bakunawa roared behind him as he released everything into a single attack.

A massive dark crimson slash surged forward, cutting through the vortex itself as it advanced.

The battlefield converged.

Renato descended.

Juan's trident advanced.

Kuroda's slash expanded.

All three forces met.

The collision erased sound.

For a moment, nothing moved.

Then everything broke.

Lightning exploded outward in all directions. Water vaporized instantly. Wind collapsed and surged again. The rotating debris shattered and scattered across the battlefield.

Renato's strike drove into the center of the slash.

Juan's trident followed.

The combined force pushed against the dark wave.

Kuroda roared.

Juan roared.

Renato roared.

All three forced their power forward.

The dark crimson slash began to fracture.

Cracks spread across its surface.

Light broke through.

The structure collapsed.

The wave shattered.

The energy dispersed.

The storm died.

Silence returned.

The debris fell.

Water settled.

Lightning faded.

Renato landed first.

His armor cracked and began to dissolve.

He dropped to one knee.

Juan followed.

He landed hard, his body unable to fully absorb the impact. He dropped to both knees, breathing heavily.

The trident returned to his hand.

The battlefield cleared.

Kuroda stood at a distance.

For a moment.

Then his form flickered.

An escape glyph burned into the air behind him.

His body dissolved into it.

Gone.

Juan lifted his head.

Renato forced himself to stand halfway.

They both saw it.

The glyph remained for a moment longer.

A trace.

A mark.

A direction.

Then it vanished.

Juan exhaled slowly.

"...He escaped."

Renato lowered his head.

"Not without cost."

The battlefield remained still.

For the first time since the storm began, there was nothing left to fight.

Only the aftermath.

And the certainty that the war was far from over.
