Chapter 41 - Chapter 41 - Worse Than Death

Master Tiger saw that none of his subordinates dared to move and was nearly infuriated to death.

He never expected a mere word from the opponent would scare this bunch of losers!

Can't these guys see? The opponent is just one person!

Even if he's a martial artist, there are so many of us, what's there to be afraid of!

At this moment, he could clearly feel blood dripping from his hand, if this continued, his hand might be crippled.

He cast a sidelong glance at me and said, "Brother, with such a ruthless move, aren't you going a bit too far? You've crippled both my hands; I don't recall Hill Leo offending you."

I didn't answer Leo. Instead, I stood up, took a cigarette from my pocket, and lit it slowly.

The life and death of others had nothing to do with me.

"Too far? I don't think so," I spoke.

Leo's eyes flashed with a hint of viciousness as his voice cooled, "Martinez't think I don't know. You're just trying to protect this couple. If you've got the guts, kill me. Otherwise, as long as I, Leo, am alive, I'll never let this couple have peace! You can't protect them forever!"

Uncle Bob and Aunt Maria's faces turned deathly pale upon hearing this!

They never expected that this young man before them acted in their defense!

But what in the world made them worthy of this young man risking his life for their sake!

I removed the cigarette from my mouth, pressing the burning end onto Leo's face: "You seem pretty confident, sure that I won't kill you?"

Despite feeling immense humiliation, Leo could only swallow it! He was completely unable to move now.

"Stop talking crap, if you have the guts, just kill me, but if you do, don't think you'll get away with it unscathed!"

At this moment, Leo exuded a sense of defiance!

For years, he had lived a life licking blood off a knife's edge, and naturally wouldn't be scared by some kid whose hair hasn't even grown yet.

I chuckled coldly, "Kill you? You're not worth staining my hands, my hands! However, a fate worse than death is much more fitting for scum like you!"

The next second, my arm shuddered, causing the bamboo skewer jar on the table to fly into the air, countless skewers floating mid-air!

I grabbed one with my fingers and stabbed it fiercely into one of Leo's acupuncture points!

The second one!

The third one!

...

A total of five skewers were firmly embedded in Leo's body, an alarming sight!

Then, the bamboo jar fell, and everything returned to its original state.

"If you can last ten seconds without begging me for mercy, I'll let you go," I said.

Leo snorted coldly, he naturally felt something pierced his body, but so what?

Even when his hands were pinned to the table with chopsticks, he hadn't frowned; what could these tiny bamboo skewers possibly count for?

"Kid, don't just say ten seconds, even if it's..."

Before Leo could finish speaking, a surge of immense pain hit him! It felt like thousands of ants biting his flesh!

The pain was amplified nearly a hundred times!

He would rather die than endure such suffering!

His entire body was covered in bulging veins, his mouth frothing, and he trembled all over!

At this moment, he realized the terror of the young man before him.

He was simply a demon!

A demon from Hell.

"One, two..."

Before I even counted to three, Leo croaked, "Spare me... I beg you... spare me..."

I remained unmoved, looking coldly.

I wasn't a Holy Mother; some people simply weren't worth pitying!

"Can't even last two seconds, and you call yourself a man?

"I beg you... please spare..." At this moment, all that was left in Leo's eyes was fear.

He was truly afraid; this was an experience he never wished to endure again.

Worse than death!

Even though Leo begged for mercy, I remained unmoved.

I wasn't some Holy Mother; those five years taught me the world's law of the jungle.

Showing leniency to enemies is being cruel to oneself.

And although Leo was not a big shot, he wasn't worthy of sympathy.

By the sixth second, Leo had reached the limit of his agony, hovering at the brink of death.

I thought that was enough; I didn't want to cause trouble in front of Uncle Bob and Aunt Maria, else this simple couple would be haunted by this nightmare.

My arm made a subtle gesture, sending a stream of air towards Leo!

Just then, the skewers flew out as if they had a mind of their own, embedding into the wall, trembling slightly.

Seeing this scene, the hooligans were utterly terrified.

How the hell is this like a martial arts novel?

They didn't even see the young man make a move; how did the skewers fly out?

Before they could react, my voice thundered in their ears like rolling thunder:

"Take him and scram! Never appear in Brooksdale again from now on!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the hooligans scrambled to Leo, their legs trembling. Casting a sidelong glance at David, seeing him unmoved, they quickly lifted Leo and ran!

They were terrified, truly terrified!

The young man before them was a demonic god from Hell!

Once everyone left, I collected that trace of Evil Qi and smiled at the couple, taking the initiative to wipe the blood off the table with a tissue.

I apologized, "Uncle Bob, I'm really sorry for damaging your table. How about I compensate you with a new one?"

A man in the distance stared at David with wide eyes, initially in fear, gradually turning surprised, and finally delighting!

Because he heard the young man address himself as David Johnson!

The David who disappeared five years ago!

"You are... you are Dave... you've returned?"

I smiled and nodded to him.

Aunt Maria still didn't understand: "What Dave? What are you talking about?"

Uncle Bob rushed to me, clasping my chest hard, explaining to his wife: "This kid is Dave who disappeared five years ago!"

"How did you grow so tall! And more muscular! You've changed so much I didn't recognize you!"

Aunt Maria finally came to her senses, covering her mouth in surprise, "Dave, where have you been for the last five years? Five years ago, I even inquired at your school, and your principal said you transferred. Why transfer schools quietly? Also, how did you get so skilled at fighting? Did you join the military?"

I nodded, "Yes, I was in the military for a few years. Trash like Leo, I alone can take down a dozen of them. Aunt Maria, if he dares to bother you again, just let me know, and I'll make him regret it for life!"

"You, kid, being a soldier is about protecting the country, not just your Aunt Maria."

I chatted with the two until 9 PM. During that time, Uncle Bob even made a few dishes and drank beers with me.

They mostly asked about those five years, but I didn't say much, only mentioning I had been in the military and just returned.

I was well aware that even if I told them I had embarked on the path of cultivation, the couple wouldn't believe it.

When leaving, Uncle Bob warmly invited me to come to support his new shop tomorrow and boldly claimed that no matter how many friends I brought, everything would be half off, with drinks on the house!

I thought it over and, since I planned to host a dinner with Samuel Thompson tomorrow but hadn't settled on a venue, decided to choose Uncle Bob's new shop to support the couple, and so I agreed.
