Chapter 43 - Chapter 43 - Don't Call Me The Guild Master

I returned to The Grandview Apartments and found that Sarah Moore still hadn't come back.

The key issue was that Sarah's phone was completely unreachable. From Jessica Brown' words, it could be inferred that Sarah hadn't even asked for leave.

What on earth could have happened at home for this girl?

Or did something happen along the way?

I couldn't help but start to worry. After all, Sarah is a woman, and an extraordinarily beautiful one at that.

To me, Sarah was very important. For the gratitude of those past years, I absolutely couldn't let anything happen to her.

Without further hesitation, I picked up the phone and dialed a string of numbers from memory.

...

The Aegis Tower.

It stood prominent in the city center, yet seemed isolated from the city's hustle and bustle.

No one knew its origins, and no one knew why it existed.

Some people, through various complex connections, could only find out one thing:

A man lives on the top floor of The Aegis Tower!

Daniel Johnson!

At this moment, on the top floor of The Aegis Tower, Daniel Johnson leaned back in his chair with his eyes closed, one hand resting on the side of the chair, and the other playing with a peculiar disk!

The pattern on the disk was quite bizarre; it was a bloodthirsty black dragon, seemingly entwined above the clouds, obscuring the sky from the sun, gazing down at the mortals below from a high perch.

Suddenly, the phone on the table rang!

Almost instantly, his tiger-like eyes opened, glinting slightly with a chilling coldness that made one's heart tremble.

Only six people in the world knew this number.

Daniel reached out, and with a slight gesture, the phone seemed to be pulled by some force, sliding directly into his palm!

He glanced at it; it was an unfamiliar number.

Could it be a wrong number?

He was about to hang up, but suddenly thought of a possibility: could it be that person calling?

Without further hesitation, he pressed the answer button.

"Who is it?"

There wasn't a sound from the other end of the line. The silence was almost terrifying.

Daniel shook his head. It seemed it was indeed a wrong number. Just as he was about to hang up, a lazy voice spoke:

"It's me."

Hearing this voice, Daniel stood up entirely, and a stormy aura began to surge from him!

His body trembled, and his breathing became somewhat rapid!

He had guarded this phone for three whole years!

It had never rung!

He had hoped that one day that man would remember this number and call him!

But time and again, he was disappointed!

He even felt that the name Daniel Johnson wasn't worth mentioning!

"The Guild Master..." His voice trembled uncontrollably, even carrying a hint of a sob.

If those mighty men saw Daniel like this, they'd be utterly stunned, because how could there be such tenderness in Daniel's eyes!

"Say it again, don't call me The Guild Master, and don't attempt to trace this number. Help me find someone. Her name is Sarah Moore, hometown Brookdale Town, Brooksdale, currently serving as Marketing Director at Radiance Group. She lost contact ten hours ago. I want to know where she is now, whether she's in danger, and if anything happened at her home. I will call you back in five minutes, and by then, you must provide me with this information."

The tone on the other end was full of unquestionable authority. After speaking, the line abruptly disconnected.

Daniel, his body still trembling, immediately composed himself. He logged onto a website while using another phone to dial a number.

"Shadow, I need all the information for one individual within three minutes. Her name is Sarah Moore, female..."

The scene shifts back to The Grandview Apartments.

I hung up the phone and fell into deep thought.

In fact, I never wanted to dial that number. I didn't even want my development or revenge to have anything to do with these people.

But now it seemed that returning to Eldoria meant I had to face these guys.

I checked the time, then sat on the sofa, fished a pack of cigarettes from my pocket, lightly shook it, and a cigarette fell into my hand.

I lit it with a lighter, and a wisp of smoke began to curl.

In troubled times, cigarettes are an excellent remedy.

Five minutes passed in the blink of an eye.

I stubbed out the cigarette in my hand, flicked it with a finger, and the butt arced perfectly into the trash can.

I dialed that number once more.

"Got any news?"

The tone on the other end was slightly calmer.

"The Hall ... uh, I've already found out about Sarah Moore. She left The Grandview Apartments in Brooksdale at exactly 11:35 AM, driving a Volkswagen 180TSI Beetle. At 12:25 PM, she entered the Fifth People's Hospital, and her car is still parked at the hospital's parking lot.

According to investigations from Brooksdale, Sarah Moore' brother, Ralph Campbell, had a sudden medical condition at 11:20 PM that afternoon, requiring immediate surgery with costs amounting to 700,000.

We retrieved her phone and the hospital's surveillance, revealing that she made three calls during that period. The first call was to a mortgage company, where Miss Sarah sold the Beetle for an incredibly low 50,000.

The second and third calls were to private numbers. After the third call, Miss Sarah threw her phone into the second trash can outside ward 512 on the fifth floor... I also have a detailed report here; would you like me to send it to your email?"

"No need," I said with a helpless shake of my head, then hung up the phone.

This girl, why didn't she tell me even at this point? Did she never consider me a friend?

Or does she think I'm utterly powerless right now?

I clearly told you I made nearly a hundred million, so why don't you believe me?

There's a Divine Doctor living right beside you, so why rely on those quack doctors?

70,000. I knew very well that Sarah only had 30,000 in hand. Even selling the car couldn't make up the remaining 40,000.

As for those two private numbers, she was probably trying to borrow money, but... she failed.

Right now, Sarah must be feeling absolutely helpless.

"Five years ago around this time, I was at my most helpless, and five years later, today, you are at yours. It's about time for me to pull you out of The Abyss."

"Ah, what a silly woman."

I casually grabbed a jacket, slung it over my shoulders, closed the door, and slipped into the night.
