Chapter 11 - Chapter 11. Between Mercy and Survival

A loud crack roamed the area. Toya hadn't moved a bit, he still stood there with the bodies of the bandits under him. He could feel the blood under his shoes. The rest of the 5 bandits who had come straight at him was frozen in place. Their eyes filled with fear. Before them stood the little kid they had planned on attacking. It should have been easy right? But no this turned out to be one of the worst cases scenarios for them. When they had attacked him, he was just a little kid with black hair and golden eyes, nothing special. But now right in front of them stood the same kid, but his hair was shining silver, his eyes cold as ice. You could feel the pressure coming from him. It wasn't bloodlust, no it was pure power. In his left hand was a broken arrow. One of the bandits stepped back. His legs shaking. What's happening? This was supposed to be easy. Just take care of a little kid, no big deal right? But this isn't a kid. He is a monster! Thoughts running through his mind. I must run! He tried but the pure pressure coming from the kid stopped him. He looked over at his friend. He could see he was just as stunned. But then he charged forward, towards the kid. He had lost it he thought. Still, he screamed out to his comrade while stretching forward his arm.

"No stop.! He will kill…" he didn't come further. The comrade in front of him stopped dead in his tracks. Then blood spilled. The body had been cut in half and on the other side stood the kid. He hadn't even seen him raise his sword. He just stared at the kid, fear spreading across his face. Then he vanished. He didn't see him move, he just disappeared. The bandit looked around where is he? And right there Toya appeared in front of him.

"What?" he said as Toya's blade pierced his throat. He could feel his eyes blur from the pain. No, no this can't be happening! I don't want to die! But right before everything went black, he heard a whisper.

"I'm sorry. I didn't want it to happen this way."

Toya could feel the power flowing through his veins, his muscle hardening, his reflexes sharpening. It was like he could everything around him. He was overflowing with pure power, he felt invincible. But then his head began to hurt, he could feel his energy draining. He remembered feeling the same way back at the courtyard. He knew he had to end it quick, if he didn't it could get ugly. He had already taken care of the close-range bandits who had come at him and decided to go after the archers next. Even if there were more close-range bandits, he knew he would be able to handle it, but the archers were a real pain. If he didn't take care of them quick, it could be his own downfall. He had a decent idea of where they were hiding, based on the direction of the arrow. So that's where he went. For a split second he moved at light speed, the eyes unable to follow. He got there to see 3 archers hiding behind the bush. One of them already had an arrow ready to shoot. Due to the fact that he was so close by the speed of the arrow was immense. If his senses weren't sharpened right now Toya was a 100 precent sure it would have killed him. He only barely managed to dodge and even so it managed to scratch his cheek. He could feel the warm blood run from the wound. But he gave it no thought. He swung his sword at the now defense less archers. They didn't have time to pull another arrow. And Toya knew that most archers weren't trained in close combat.

He had just cut them down when guilt filled him. He didn't want to kill anyone. But as he stood there half regretting his actions, he felt a strong presence from behind him. He barely got out of the way before a giant axe landed where he just stood. He could hear the sound of the ground cracking beneath him from the powerful attack. He looked up to see a huge built man wielding it. Toya figured he was approximately 2 meters high. He had basic black hair and eyes. But across his left eye he had a scar. Toya knew that he wasn't like the others. No, this guy was way stronger, both in pure strength but also experience and combat abilities too. This guy is going to be trouble Toya thought clenching the hilt of his sword. Taking one of his blows would mean broken bones if not death. Toya knew that the big guy beat him at physical strength but due to his big build Toya figured he would have a speed advantage. He had to think about how to beat him without taking direct damage and in a short amount of time no less. He didn't know how long he could keep fighting, already feeling his fatigue increase. He could see the big guy already getting ready for another attack, but Toya still needed more time to think. He turned and sprinted towards the place he had been ambushed. He could her the loud voice of the bandit but couldn't make out the words as the air was howling in his ears. He could feel the cold air against his hot face. He ran as fast as he could. Out of the corner of his eye Toya could see he was being followed. Still, he didn't hesitate. Hesitation equals death in these kinds of situations.

Toya reached the place he was going after. He had an idea, but had no clue whether or not it would work. If he had to guess, he would guess that it was about 50-50 whether it would work or not. But it was the only plan he got. So, as he got there, he went to one of the corpses of the bandits. He got down on his knees and took the weapon by its side. It was covered in blood from the corpse but other than that it would work for what he had in mind.

He rose from his kneeling position, took a deep breath and readied himself. He knew that this would only work once. He stood among the corpses as the brute came closer with heavy steps. Toya waited until he was a few meters away, then he threw the sword he had picked up. He threw it directly at the bandit. The sword wouldn't stop him nor harm him. But it didn't need to. Toya moved.
