Chapter 280 - Chapter 280: The Power of Time and Space

"Kid?"

Gran's mouth twitched.

This little girl didn't even reach his shoulder in height—who exactly was the "kid" here?

But then again…

The Supreme Kai of Time and the Old Supreme Kai were contemporaries. That meant the petite girl in front of him was at least 75 million years old.

Compared to her, Gran—barely over 300—really was just a kid.

"...You said you came to save me. But how did you know I'd fall into that vortex?" Gran asked curiously.

"With the kind of shockwaves you and Quitela created, how could I not notice?" Chronoa replied, clearly annoyed.

"..."

Fair enough.

Their battle had destroyed three entire universes, and his power had ultimately broken through to the Angel-tier. If the other Angels hadn't sealed off the energy, half of the Omni-King's multiverse might have been shattered.

As the Supreme Kai of Time, Chronoa was responsible for overseeing all timelines. If she hadn't noticed something like that, it would've been dereliction of duty.

Gran immediately composed himself, bowed slightly, and said:

"My respects, Supreme Kai of Time. Thank you for rescuing me."

"Not bad, kid—you've got some manners," Chronoa nodded in satisfaction.

Seeing her cute yet slightly smug expression, Gran couldn't help but feel amused.

He cleared his throat lightly.

"Supreme Kai of Time, there's something I'd like to ask, if you don't mind."

"Aren't you already asking?" she shot back.

"..."

Gran chuckled awkwardly.

He glanced around. The terrifying spacetime vortex from earlier had completely vanished.

Frowning slightly, he asked:

"From what I can tell, your power hasn't reached the Angel-tier. So how were you able to disperse that vortex?"

Even he couldn't break through it—yet this tiny girl had done so effortlessly. It was… a bit hard to swallow.

"Hey! Are you saying I'm weak?" Chronoa puffed out her cheeks in annoyance.

Gran just smiled, choosing not to answer directly.

"Hmph. You're just as annoying as Beerus," she muttered before explaining:

"That spacetime vortex was formed from the combined forces of time and space. To someone who doesn't understand spacetime power, it's incredibly dangerous. But I do understand it—so it's nothing to me."

"I see…"

Gran nodded thoughtfully.

He had only ever touched upon time before. But spacetime—the fusion of time and space—was something entirely new to him.

Now everything made sense.

Chronoa drifted closer and lightly patted his shoulder.

"You've got some guts, kid."

"What do you mean?"

"What else? Quitela was a God of Destruction—and you actually killed him. Aren't you afraid the Omni-King will punish you?"

Gran shrugged.

"What's there to fear? The Omni-King only forbade battles between Gods of Destruction. He never said a candidate couldn't fight—or even kill—a God of Destruction."

Chronoa blinked.

Thinking it over… he was right.

"You…" She suddenly burst into laughter. "You're pretty interesting."

She looked him over again.

Gran was still in his Super Saiyan 4 state—covered in crimson fur, clad in a God of Destruction outfit, radiating an overwhelming aura. Even this spacetime fissure trembled faintly under his presence.

"The Super Saiyan 4 I've seen in other timelines wasn't this ridiculous. How did you achieve this level?"

"Probably talent," Gran replied casually.

Chronoa nodded.

"Yeah… your talent is pretty terrifying."

She seemed to fall into thought.

Seeing that, Gran quickly spoke up:

"Supreme Kai of Time, thank you again for saving me. Could you do me one more favor and send me back to my original timeline?"

He still had to collect the Super Dragon Balls. Quitela's interference had completely derailed his plans—and led to him ending up here.

"Send you back? Not happening!"

Chronoa shook her head vigorously.

Gran frowned.

"Why?"

"Because I want you to become a Time Patroler of the Time Realm!"

Her eyes sparkled.

She had been eyeing Gran for a while now. He possessed temporal uniqueness, had just reached Angel-tier power, and was basically the perfect enforcer.

How could she let such a talent slip away?

"…."

Gran's face immediately darkened.

Just like in the spin-off stories—this little girl really did love recruiting strong fighters everywhere.

"I'm sorry, but I've never considered becoming—"

Before he could finish, Chronoa cut him off:

"Don't reject it so quickly. You won't lose out on this."

"Why?"

"Don't you want to master spacetime power?"

She smirked.

"You experienced that vortex firsthand, didn't you? If you had mastered spacetime power, you wouldn't have been trapped at all."

Gran froze.

He had expected some kind of incentive—but not this.

"Remember Whis's time rewind technique? Spacetime power includes time manipulation. If you learn it, you could do the same."

She leaned in closer, her voice tempting:

"And aren't you a Saiyan? If you join the Time Patrol, you'll get to challenge powerful warriors from other timelines."

Chronoa knew Saiyans well—their love for battle was in their blood.

Even if he resisted the lure of power… he wouldn't resist the chance to fight stronger opponents.

"...I have to admit, you understand Saiyans very well," Gran said with a helpless smile.

"You've convinced me on both points. I'll agree—but I have conditions."

"Name them!!" Chronoa clenched her fists, practically vibrating with excitement.

"First—after I join, you can't call on me for every trivial matter."

"Of course! With your strength, that would be a waste."

She nodded vigorously.

"Second—even if something serious comes up, if I don't have time, you can't force me to go."

"How can you say that?!" Chronoa stomped her foot.

"If it's serious, of course I'd need you! How would I know whether you're actually busy or just making excuses?"

"Uh…"

Gran paused, realizing his wording had been vague.

Seeing her on the verge of tears, he quickly clarified:

"Alright, alright—let me rephrase."

"If it's truly urgent, I won't ignore it. But if I'm in the middle of closed-door training—especially on the verge of a breakthrough—then I won't be able to help."

"Hmph… you're really annoying. You should've said that earlier!" Chronoa huffed, but her mood quickly improved. "Fine, I accept."

"Any other conditions?"

"No, that's all for now."

Gran didn't dare push his luck further.

"Good. Then let's go."

"Go? Back to my timeline?"

"No."

Chronoa grinned.

"First—we're going to the Time Realm."
