Nicholas arrived at the meeting room, his files and notes neatly organized. He was confident that this meeting would be a success, and he was excited to discuss the future of his company with the investors.
As he took his seat, he noticed that Rachel looked frazzled. "Everything okay?" he asked, concern etched on his face.
"Yeah, I think so," Rachel replied, her voice uncertain. "But I couldn't find the files you asked me to prepare. I could swear I sent them to you..."
Nicholas frowned. "That's strange. Let me check my email."
As he scrolled through his inbox, his eyes widened in alarm. There, in his email, was a message from Rachel with the files attached. But when he opened them, he realized they were fake.
"What's going on?" Nicholas demanded, his voice rising. "These aren't the right files."
Rachel's face went white. "I didn't send those. Someone must have hacked into my account."
Alex, sitting across from them, looked concerned. "That sounds serious. Maybe we should postpone the meeting."
But Nicholas was already on his feet, his mind racing. Who could have done this? And why?
The meeting was a disaster. The investors were unimpressed with the fake files, and Nicholas's reputation was on the line.
As the meeting adjourned, Nicholas turned to Rachel. "Find out who did this," he ordered. "I want to know who's behind this."
Rachel nodded, determination etched on her face. "I'll get to the bottom of it, Nicholas."
But as Nicholas watched her go, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was in grave danger. Someone was playing a very dirty game, and he was determined to find out who.
Meanwhile, Alex smiled to himself as he left the meeting room. It was working. Nicholas was starting to doubt everyone around him.
But little did Alex know, Nicholas had a few tricks up his sleeve. He was about to turn the tables on his betrayer...
