Chapter 14 - Sealed Night

:: Dream's Genesis

For a few days, there were no major issues in the city. Silence reigned everywhere, and even the wind carried a suspicious quiet.

The police had started restricting anyone from going out alone at night to increase the city's security.

Schools and colleges had temporarily stopped night classes and special classes.

It was late, and darkness had once again covered the city. Just then, a pregnant woman was walking by. Since it wasn't safe to walk out at night, and due to the police directive, she was moving quickly.

However, despite trying to walk fast, her pregnancy made it difficult, and she couldn't maintain a high speed.

After walking for a good distance, she began to find it difficult to breathe. She slowly sat down on a bench by the side of the road.

While resting there for a while, she noticed a person sitting opposite her with a dog.

The person's face was unclear, and their hands were also covered. Seeing this, the woman felt a slight sense of suspicion within, and she slowly got up from there and walked forward.

Frightened, the woman tried to contact someone on her phone, but the call wouldn't connect. She walked faster, which was difficult for her in her pregnant state.

After covering some distance, she looked back, but there was no one there.

The woman felt a small wave of relief. She continued walking forward, and after covering a little more distance, she entered an alleyway. It was a path between two large buildings, to her left and right. There was no one around there. The woman walked a little further and then suddenly stopped. There was a large old dumpster box there, but she didn't stop because of it.

Facing her, in front of the box, stood the dog. Seeing this, the woman was truly scared. She wasn't in a condition to run. The dog stared intently at her. The woman, determined to retreat slowly, took steps backward.

Just a few steps back, she felt something touch her leg. After turning to see what it was, she looked up and saw that the dog's owner was now standing in the darkness right in front of her.

The woman realized she had walked into danger. She stood there, unsure how she could escape past the dog behind her and the man in front of her.

The man slowly started walking forward from the darkness.

The woman, frightened, took a step back. That's when she slowly took out what looked like a spray from her bag. As the man came close to her, she grabbed it and sprayed it in his face. Due to the sudden nature of the attack, his attention shifted. She then sprayed it in the dog's eyes. She somehow managed to get past them and ran forward through the alleyway. Running that fast in her condition was very difficult for the woman. Nevertheless, she ran forward to save her life. After running for a while, the woman started finding it hard to breathe. She ducked and hid behind a nearby shop. After a short while, the man also arrived there. Unsure of where the woman had gone, he looked around and then ran forward again.

The woman stayed hidden there, barely breathing, until he was gone.

After he left, the woman came out from her hiding spot. Determined to escape from there somehow, she quickly walked forward again, taking a different route.

The woman wandered through the alleyways for a long distance, trying to escape. While she was wandering through the darkness, someone suddenly hit her from behind, causing her to fall to the ground. She fell face-down (prone). She was heavily pregnant, and the blow caused the woman to lose consciousness instantly. Blood flowed from her head onto the ground, and the person stepped out from the darkness. He turned the woman over and checked if she was dead. She wasn't. He then slowly dragged the woman away into the darkness.

"Ahhh! Ehhh!"

Someone woke up with a start, eyes wide open. Everything that had happened was just a dream seen by someone. That person woke up startled and looked outside; the clouds were gathering, dark and heavy, and lightning began to flash fiercely across them.

The individual who woke up from the dream was in a dark room. They had drawn various things on the walls around them—matters related to some ancient era.

The room was closed off so completely that even light had no entry. The startled person again scribbled something on the wall.

"Again...., from the end, back to the beginning."

Next to the person's room, many other rooms were similarly locked up.

In just one of them, the door was closed in such a way that a faint light could still enter. In one corner of that room, a single candle was burning.

As the light slowly fell on the other corner of the room, a girl was sitting there facing the wall.

In that room, several papers were torn and scattered here and there, with various drawings on them.

The girl in this room heard what the person in the next room had said. Hearing that, she looked up at the light coming through a small hole above. Her eyes were very distinct; they were not like human eyes, but reflected the intensity of something waiting to hunt.

She slowly used her nail to mark a '1' on the adjacent wall.
