6: The Family Oath

Some time later, Finn returned to the camp and found his siblings gathered together.

Finn: What happened?

Niklaus: Brother… they killed Mother. I think it was Father. He disappeared.

Finn smiled inwardly and nodded. There, the siblings made the oath:

"Forever."

Kol and the Shadow Powers

One day, Finn found Kol away from the others.

Finn: Thanks for helping me with Father.

Kol: What are you talking about?

Finn: I know you evolved too.

Using his shadow powers, Finn made a dark shadow rise and dance in front of his brother.

Kol: So I wasn't the only one? When did you discover it?

Finn: The first day, when I went to meditate, forgetting I had lost my magic.

Finn laughed at the lie. Kol scowled.

Kol: You knew all along and didn't say a word? Do you know how many years I suffered without my magic?

Kol grabbed Finn by the collar, furious.

Finn: Calm down, brother. I couldn't say anything. Imagine if Mikael found out? If he became even stronger…

Finn's words weighed heavily on Kol, who trembled and exhaled. Indeed, it would be dangerous to make their father stronger.

Finn: Does the new magic make you happy?

Kol: It's not the same, but it's still magic. I can cast spells, just of one element—but it's good to have magic again. I'll create so many spells with my element, it will be useful for everything. And I don't feel hunger as much.

Kol smiled, excited to have his magic back, and soon discovered he could manipulate it in multiple ways with his element—light.

Kol: When do we tell our siblings?

Finn: Not yet. Only when we're powerful enough over our elements.

Kol: Why?

Finn: Niklaus is still depressed because his wolf side is sealed. If he discovers, he could go out of control. The power from his sealed wolf side might overwhelm us—we might not be able to stop him.

Kol: Understood. Then I'll study more.

The Martel Territory

Some time later, in France, in the Martel territory, the Mikaelsons had a proper feast in a noble carriage.

A surviving servant appeared inside the carriage.

Rebekah: Look how cute! Finn, can I keep him?

Finn: No. Don't play with your food.

Rebekah: But… alright.

The girl gave up after seeing Finn's look.

Servant: Wait! I am a servant of the House of Martel. This carriage belonged to nobles. I can help you pass as them.

Elijah: Continue…

Servant: My name is Lucian. I can make you appear as nobles.

Elijah: And what would we gain from this?

Klaus: We could sleep in real beds… and there'd be noble women.

Klaus smiled at the idea, Elijah nodded to him.

Elijah: We should think carefully. It may not be wise to go to the castle.

Elijah wanted to control the situation, unsure if it was safe to enter the castle.

Finn: It's a good idea, Niklaus. I also need a bed and good company.

Klaus: Then shall we go?

Finn: Yes.

Rebekah: Yes.

Elijah: Brother, it may not be wise. Many could have discovered our identity, and Father might come.

Elijah didn't want to give in. He wanted to redeem himself and keep the family safe. Unfortunately, the family had an absolute leader: Finn, the eldest, respected by all.

Even Klaus, normally paranoid and fearful, acted like a child around his eldest brother. Everyone relaxed, knowing Finn would handle any threat.

Elijah: Okay, let's go—but carefully.

Nobility and Alliances

Arriving at the castle, still in disguise, the siblings began socializing.

Finn: Okay, I am the baron. Elijah is my younger brother. You are my children. Elijah will be my political right hand and handle bureaucracy. You… have fun.

Kol: But you're not that old to be our father.

Finn: Just say I age well, alright?

Rebekah: Okay, Daddy.

Klaus: Okay, Father.

Kol: Okay, Father.

Elijah: I'll handle the politicians.

Elijah spoke with determination, and they disembarked.

Not long after, they attended a feast, meeting the Count of Martel, his son, and his daughter.

Finn noticed Aurora was beautiful but saw Klaus had noticed her first, so he decided not to pursue her.

Soon, Finn found someone else interesting: a noble from distant lands, Alexander Corvinus. Finn remembered him from films he watched before reincarnating.

Finn: Beautiful party. I'm Finn Mikaelson.

Alexander: I agree. I'm Alexander Corvinus.

They talked for hours. Finn learned Alexander had no children—he had been occupied with war and came to Martel territory seeking an army.

Finn seized the opportunity, offering power to Alexander, who accepted. In return, Alexander would act as Finn's second vampire in the lineage, drawing attention to him.

Finn wanted to disguise his family, creating millennial vampires and myths that they were the first originals. This way, the Mikaelsons could rest while Mikael hunted these supposed originals.

The plan required Alexander to have a child with a human and adopt a werewolf child.

Thanks to vampire evolution, werewolves had also evolved—or had always been alpha. Finn didn't know. The key was that now alphas existed among werewolves, as strong as alpha vampires.

Alphas could turn humans, but humans turned into alphas were weaker than vampire alphas. Finn discovered this when meeting his first alpha werewolf.

Thanks to Corvinus, the vampire-werewolf war began—but that was in the future.

Chapter 10: Blood, Secrets, and Evolution

Tristian began challenging Finn, which he disliked. His siblings wanted to kill Tristian, but Finn stopped them.

One day, Tristian punished Lucian, and Klaus discovered his blood could heal. Lucian was soon killed by Tristian's soldiers.

Klaus: Our blood can heal humans?

Kol: Dangerous. If they find out, they might try to capture us.

Elijah: Agreed with Kol. We must keep this secret.

Rebekah: I agree.

Standing over Lucian's body, Klaus lit a torch, but Finn stopped him.

Klaus: Brother, why stop me?

Finn: Wait and see.

At that moment, Lucian awoke. Everyone was stunned.

Finn: When a human dies with our blood in their system, they become one of us.

Kol: When did you discover this?

Finn: By accident, when I bled on a girl while being attacked by a wolf.

They all agreed, but with suspicion. Their brother knew too much and was hiding things.

Later, Aurora transformed with Rebekah's blood via suicide, and Tristian transformed with Elijah's blood.

The Mikaelsons finally left France. Finn gathered everyone:

Finn: I have something to tell you.

Kol: Actually, we do.

The siblings looked confused at Kol and Finn. Finn quickly stood and staked Kol.

Elijah: What are you doing?

He tried to attack Finn, but Kol removed the stake from his chest.

Klaus: What happened?

Rebekah and Elijah looked on, bewildered.

Finn: This is evolution. Apparently, we have a second phase of power—and magic too.

Finn made shadows move around him; Kol's hands sparked with electricity.

Elijah: Since when?

Elijah glared angrily at Finn—so this was the secret? A second power, a way to grow stronger and never have to flee again?

Kol: Since we arrived at the Martel castle. While you played house, I discovered it and told Finn.

Klaus: Damn, you should have told everyone.

Kol: You were busy playing with the Count's daughter. Where is she now?

Klaus lowered his head, recalling that Aurora abandoned him after transforming, using him for her own purposes.

Elijah lowered his head, knowing his own mistakes.

Finn: The important thing is you now know. You must also learn to reach this power. With it, hunger is reduced by half.
