Chapter 48 - First Look at Strength

Jiangnan City, Poly International Golf Club.

Jiang Beicheng had sent the deer antler he brought back from New Zealand to Shen Ping, a partner at Nanfeng Venture Capital, and Shen Ping invited him to play golf together today.

He mentioned introducing a friend in the deep-sea fishing business to Beicheng.

It just so happened that Beicheng's Halo branch of the Beicheng Hotel specialized in Taizhou cuisine, which had a high demand for seafood, making it a good opportunity for mutual acquaintance.

As soon as Jiang Beicheng arrived by car, Shen Ping's S680 pulled in right behind him.

Jiang Beicheng parked his car first and waited for them.

"President Jiang," Shen Ping greeted with a smile as he got out of his car, shaking hands with Jiang Beicheng and joking, "That deer antler you sent over works wonders."

Both men chuckled.

Men understand.

"President Qi, this is my friend, Jiang Beicheng, President Jiang," Shen Ping introduced. "President Jiang, this is my classmate from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Qi Tai, President Qi."

"President Jiang, a pleasure to meet you," Qi Tai said with a smile, extending his hand.

Jiang Beicheng shook hands politely and said, "President Qi! I heard from President Shen that you're here from Guangzhou on a business trip?"

Qi Tai replied, "Just catching up with an old classmate. If I can strike a deal with President Jiang, that'd be a pleasant surprise."

Jiang Beicheng smiled, "Let's talk business over dinner tonight. Golf first?"

"President Jiang, after you," Qi Tai gestured.

Shen Ping, who had organized today's gathering, enthusiastically invited both men, "President Jiang, President Qi, see you in a bit!"

They hopped on the shuttle cart to head to the clubhouse to change.

As they boarded, Qi Tai deliberately glanced at the Mansory vehicle Jiang Beicheng had driven today.

The "Mansory" brand was quite well-known in wealthy circles. Whether it was big-shot entrepreneurs or ultra-rich second-generation heirs, they all favored this brand.

Land Rovers, Bentleys, Cullinans… even Lamborghini Huracáns had highly successful modification cases, often spotted in first-tier cities.

Jiang Beicheng's car wasn't just fitted with Mansory's wide-body kit—it also had customized 26-inch oversized wheels and a raised chassis.

Qi Tai, an off-road enthusiast himself, could tell at a glance that Mansory had added three differential locks to this Cadillac Escalade.

Adding differential locks to a unibody vehicle is incredibly expensive.

Jiang Beicheng had essentially turned an executive SUV into a hardcore off-roader, capable of tackling slopes and rough terrain with ease.

Taking a multi-million-yuan car to play in such scenarios was no different from driving a Cullinan into a mud pit.

It could only mean that Jiang Beicheng, this young man, saw cars as toys—whatever the car, it was all about having fun.

President Jiang's spending was quite lavish.

Since they were discussing potential collaboration, Qi Tai was assessing his counterpart's strength to ensure his own interests were protected.

Without sitting down at the dinner table yet, he could only gauge Jiang Beicheng based on appearances.

"Young President Jiang, which set of clubs are you using today?" the club's caddy asked enthusiastically, stepping forward to assist.

"My Callaway set," Jiang Beicheng replied, adjusting his collar in front of the mirror. Meeting new friends called for a bit of attention to his image.

"Young President Jiang, one moment," the caddy said, heading off to fetch the clubs.

Jiang Beicheng and his father kept two sets of clubs stored at the club for convenience, and the club's general manager was a trusted friend of Jiang Tao.

His Callaway set wasn't particularly expensive—around 20,000 yuan—but it felt great in his hands.

Callaway was also a brand favored by professional golfers in international tournaments.

It was top-tier professional equipment.

Jiang Tao's set, on the other hand, was a Maruman Majesty Prestigio, a limited edition of 108 sets, each costing over 200,000 yuan.

Jiang Beicheng's assessment of his father's golfing skills was: technically lacking but full of flair.

Top-notch equipment, mediocre skills—purely for business purposes.

The caddy carried the clubs and followed Jiang Beicheng to meet up with Shen Ping and Qi Tai.

"President Jiang exudes an aristocratic air," Qi Tai complimented.

Compared to middle-aged men like them, whose figures had long gone out of shape, Jiang Beicheng's demeanor was indeed striking.

Jiang Beicheng laughed, "President Qi flatters me. On the golf course, it's all about skill."

"Of course," Qi Tai nodded.

"I've heard Young President Jiang's golf game is quite impressive," Shen Ping added.

Jiang Beicheng smiled modestly, "To be precise, my luck is pretty good."

The three shared a laugh.

Jiang Beicheng picked up a driver to warm up.

Holding the club with one hand, he casually hooked the ball from the ground to his front, swung his arm, and struck it.

The sound was crisp.

In the sand trap, Jiang Beicheng's one-handed pull, pause, and swing was highly skilled, smooth as flowing water.

He hit several shots in a row, all with one hand, effortlessly stylish.

Straight shots, left and right curves, high and low lobs—he played them all well, without a single mistake.

The beautiful caddy nearby clapped enthusiastically, providing emotional support for President Jiang.

Jiang Beicheng had been playing golf since he was eight, and after all these years, he was practically a semi-professional.

"President Jiang plays so stylishly," Qi Tai praised with a smile. "He's got the young ladies swooning."

The caddy following Jiang Beicheng beamed brightly, playing along with the bosses and giving Jiang Beicheng a thumbs-up.

Jiang Beicheng said to the caddy, "I've been pretty lucky lately. If I get a hole-in-one, I'll give you a red envelope."

"Go, President Jiang!"

The caddies and staff around him clapped excitedly.

Who wouldn't be thrilled at the mention of a red envelope?

It was an unwritten rule in the sport—getting a hole-in-one meant handing out red envelopes.

After all, the odds were incredibly slim.

Such luck would mark you as truly blessed.

Qi Tai said, "The last time I saw a hole-in-one was at a professional tournament in the U.S."

Jiang Beicheng laughed, "Just blowing some hot air to tease these girls. Don't take it seriously, President Qi."

"Hahaha, President Jiang's a pro at this," Qi Tai admitted, feeling outdone.

After warming up, the three engaged in a friendly match.

Qi Tai and Shen Ping were at a business level—golf for them was about leisure and fitness. Compared to Jiang Beicheng, they were no match and simply watched his performance.

They were also hoping to see him pull off a rare hole-in-one.

But the odds of that were astronomically low. Statistically, even professional golfers only had a 1 in 2,500 chance of a hole-in-one, while amateurs faced 1 in 100,000 odds.

That kind of luck would be downright miraculous.

Though he didn't achieve a miracle hole-in-one, Jiang Beicheng did score a beautiful birdie.

He earned enthusiastic applause from the two older executives.

A birdie required both skill and luck, and today, Jiang Beicheng was in top form with great luck. After the game, he was very generous.

He handed out red envelopes to the pretty caddies and staff—600 yuan each.

"President Jiang, what a big shot!"

Qi Tai praised Jiang Beicheng's generosity in Cantonese.

"President Qi, you let me win," Jiang Beicheng said, shaking hands with Qi Tai again.

"I'm a straightforward guy. I don't like superficial stuff. Show what you've got, and President Jiang, you played great. I like your style," Qi Tai said with a smile.

Jiang Beicheng replied, "I'll make sure to drink well with President Qi tonight."

Shen Ping added, "I've arranged dinner. Let's head to the clubhouse for a shower and a relaxing massage, then go straight to eat."

Jiang Beicheng said, "I'll follow President Shen's arrangements."

Qi Tai chimed in, "President Shen, President Jiang, I have another friend with me… If you two don't mind…"

He spread his hands and smiled.

Jiang Beicheng and Shen Ping understood.

He was probably in Jiangnan City to accompany a female friend!

Jiang Beicheng teased, "A beautiful lady?"

Qi Tai laughed, "Of course, a beautiful lady. Is President Jiang questioning my taste?"

"No, no, President Qi," Jiang Beicheng said with a laugh as he and Qi Tai boarded the shuttle cart. When it came to women, men always had plenty to talk about.
