"I can't." He said.
"Why is that?" She asked.
"I never told you to spend your money on me. You chose to do it your way." He said.
"I didn't bring much cash to eat." She said.
"Then sort yourself out. You act like you don't want our relationship." He said and she shook her head with tears dropping from her eyes.
"How much do you have with you?" He asked and she told him.
He decided to add to the money so that she could get herself some meals and still have some transport fare.
"Thank you." She said.
"I don't want this to repeat itself." He said and she nodded.
They both got out to get themselves a meal.
Claudia also went out to sit on the bench outside. She brought out some snacks and ate.
"She isn't eating food," Diana said looking at her.
They both went to sit beside her.
"Hi, Claudia," Diana said and Claudia looked at her.
"Hi, Diana," Claudia said.
"Why are you eating snacks?" Diana asked.
"This is only what I can afford to bring." She answered.
Diana looked at Peter and then at Claudia.
"Your mother?" She asked and Claudia smiled.
"Why?" Claudia asked. "If you worry about my feeding, there is no need. We eat only one meal which is in the evening."
"Can we share my meal?" Diana asked.
"I don't eat out," Claudia said and Diana sighed.
"Alright," Diana said and continued eating.
Minutes later, they walked back into the lab and took up their bags going to another lab.
"Physics," Claudia said, immediately entering the new lab and walking to a machine.
"This is the Drill." She said looking at the machine.
"You love Physics?" Diana asked and Claudia nodded.
Her eyes moved to another device.
"That is a multimeter." She said, looking at Diana, who smiled.
"Can we be Physics buddies?" Diana asked.
"Yes, we can," Claudia said happily and hugged her.
"Let's go take our seats," Diana said, pointing to the bench she sits on during Physics class.
"You do not have a partner?" Claudia asked.
"I do not have in this lab," Diana said smiling.
They both walked to the bench to have their sit.
Minutes later, the teacher came in and began to explain a topic to them.
"I know you all have your textbooks, and I will enjoin you all to answer the question on page 52." The teacher said and left.
"I do not have the textbook," Claudia said.
"You may take the picture," Diana suggested but Claudia shook her head.
"I do not have a good phone." She said, bringing out her little phone, which almost made Diana laugh.
"Really, how do you use it?" She asked.
"I use it to browse the internet and call," Claudia said.
"You do not chat with friends?" Diana asked.
"I call them whenever I need to speak with them and that's all." She answered and Diana sniffled.
"Do you feel that you can cope here?" Diana asked.
"I can cope anywhere," Claudia said.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" Diana asked.
"No, I don't," Claudia said smiling. "Why are you asking?"
"Nothing much," Diana said and gave her the textbook.
Claudia immediately typed the questions into her pad.
"Should we study?" She asked Diana who nodded.
Minutes later, Diana excused herself and went to Peter.
"My love." She said giving Peter a peck.
Peter looked at her and smiled.
"I am sorry for how I spoke to you." He said and she smiled.
"It's nothing. I have forgiven you." She said and Peter smiled.
"Gullible." He said inside.
"You are friends with the new girl?" Peter asked and she nodded.
"Physics buddies." She said.
Peter smiled looking at Claudia.
"She is really poor but has a brain," Diana said.
"You already know a lot about her, even though today is her first day," Peter said.
"Yes, I do, and that is because she is cute," Diana said and Peter smiled.
He wondered why Diana would feel like Claudia wanted him.
"Stupid!" He mistakenly bloated out.
"What is stupid?" Diana asked, and he cleared his throat, smiling.
"My thoughts." He said and Diana smiled.
"I should go back," Diana said and he looked at her.
"Different." He said and she smiled.
"I have been studying with Claudia." She said and he nodded.
He sighed as he remembered Andrew's call to him after the first class. By that time the vehicle was moving.
Andrew made him know of all Diana's fears.
He looked at Claudia and smiled.
"After a week, she will give me back my authority as the best student." He thought to himself.
He wore a smile remembering all the things he had heard of her success.
"I just hope she will leave this for me as it is the only thing that gives me joy." He said to himself.
Minutes later, a teacher came into the class doing a practical in the textbook.
Claudia paid keen attention to what the teacher was doing.
He called out some people to do the practical of which Diana was one.
Claudia clapped as Diana walked back to have her sit.
"You did well, though it wasn't perfect," Claudia said, and Diana smiled.
After some minutes, the teacher left the class and they took up their bags.
Diana walked to Peter who called the guys and gave him a peck.
"There is an investment that I have been doing with Michael." He said. "I would like to introduce you all to it."
Hearing this, Claudia stood still.
"How legit is it?" She asked.
"100 %," Peter said.
"It's only for guys." A guy said.
"You can join as a lady if you have any money to invest," Peter said. "But I guess you can't join."
"I don't care," Claudia said. "Count me in."
Peter explained how the system works and Claudia dropped an amount she had with her.
She was prepared to walk home.
The following two weeks, Peter sat down with Claudia, learning from her.
Diana walked in but couldn't take her eyes off both of them.
