Act 1 scene 1
(Outside of class walking in the hallways of school. Sebastian and Lily are outside of class talking about the fight between their friends who are supposed to be dating.)
Sebastian: Hey there so how are you doing?
Lily: I'm fine, how about you? Are there any problems?
Sebastian: None that I can think of. What have you heard of?
Lily: Nothing really besides her boyfriend being an ass.
Sebastian: How was he being an ass to her, or is he just an ass?
Lily: He made her cry a lot and no he just acts like an ass.
Sebastian: Are you sure, or is she just guessing?
Lily: I'm sure, and he's being very secretive.
Sebastian: How is he secretive about what he's been doing?
Lily: He doesn't listen when she's talking to him and instead ends up walking somewhere else without telling her where he's going.
Sebastian: So he's secretive; that doesn't mean he's being an ass.
Lily: I know, but still, he should be more honest when she asks. Also, she gets self-conscious when she tries to ask him anything.
Sebastian: Well, she should ask him then instead of getting mad at him and calling him an ass.
Lily: You know she won't do that. She would rather get upset at him for no reason.
Sebastian: But then she has no right to call him an ass if she's not even communicating with him.
Lily: Well, he should know what she is like.
[Suddenly Lauren and Ben walked up to them overhearing their conversation. They get upset with their friends for talking about them.
Lauren and Ben end up disagreeing with them.]
Lauren: What are you guys talking about, and how come I heard my name?
Ben: Why are you guys talking about us?
Sebastian: We were just discussing our friends' relationship.
Lily: Yeah, we were talking about what we think about their relationship.
Lauren: How is our relationship any of your problems?
Ben: Seriously, how is it your problem anyway?
Sebastian: Shouldn't it be our problem? We are your friends and have been helping you deal with this anyway.
Lily: Lauren are you seriously going to treat me like this now?
Lauren: What do you mean treating you like this now? I've been doing this for over a year. You just haven't paid attention to what I have been like.
Ben: What the hell is going on? Why are you acting like this? I know this isn't you, so why are you being like this?
Lauren: I don't know what you're talking about. I'm being myself; you guys just haven't been paying attention to me.
(Lauren walks away and leaves everyone confused. Ben turns to them and gets angrier.)
Sebastian: Ben, what the heck just happened to Lauren? This isn't her at all, so why did she change so much?
Lily: Ben seriously what happened to her? Was she like this when you guys were in class?
Ben: I didn't know she was being distant in class and didn't talk to me much. She was very focused on her phone during class, and the teacher ended up taking her phone for the whole class. She was brooding and upset after he took it.
Lily: Maybe we should ask her brother if he knows what's happening to her.
Ben: Good luck with that, but he doesn't seem to like me that much.
Sebastian: What do you mean? I thought you guys got along.
Ben: Yeah, we used to get along, but now he just seems to hate me and always looks at me like he's pissed off at me.
Sebastian: Damn this is getting weird; I honestly don't get it at all. Why would he change so much in a week?
Ben: Same as we were hanging out they got up and walked away talking to each other they didn't even remember I was there too.
Sebastian: So did anything happen or just that?
Ben: When they came back Lauren was distant and Lucas was pissed off at me.
Lily: That's seriously strange but there's nothing we can do other than ask him if he will talk to me or Sebastian since he's mad at you.
Ben: Wow Lily thanks for putting it that way. I'll just head to my next class. Sebastian text me when you guys figure something out.
(Ben walks off to his next class, leaving Lily and Sebastian to talk about their plan to figure out what's going on with Lauren.)
Lily: So what do we do now?
Sebastian: I thought you already had a plan on how to get her brother to talk to us.
Lily: Nope I was kind of hoping you would since you're on the same team.
Sebastian: So I have to come up with a plan for your ridiculous idea?
Lily: Please, you know i suck at communicating with other people. I'm barely able to communicate with you and Ben. Plus the only reason I'm doing this is that your friend is dating my best friend.
Sebastian: That's harsh ouch, and I thought you liked me and Ben. It seems like it was all a lie. (sighing and fake pouting)
Lily: Wow okay, tough jock isn't so tough. Just wait till I tell your girlfriend that. She's going to be so shocked.
Sebastian: You wouldn't dare? Also, how did we end up on this topic?
Lily: I told you I was only your friend because your friend is dating my best friend.
Sebastian: Oh that's right. Anyway, we still need to figure out how to get Lucas to talk to us.
Lily: I know, but what are we supposed to do?
Sebastian: I don't know, but we should head to class before the bell rings.
(Lily and Sebastian walk off to class.)
