I blinked and pulled back from her. Then I looked around me, but there was no one else, just the three of us on the table and my bodyguard was a bit far from us but still kept me under close watch.
That was annoying, by the way. But it's what my mother wants and if it made her feel better, then I had no choice.
"What's wrong?" Alison asked. "What are you looking for?"
I shook my head. "I thought I heard something, that's all. But I guess it's just my imagination."
I watched as Alison stilled where she sat. She just suddenly went rigid and her eyes were a bit wide with shock. Her face carried a look of horror rather than a shocked expression.
"You heard... something?" She asked, hesitant.
It was starting to get really awkward.
I shrugged. "Well yeah, I mean I don't know, but I think I did." I wasn't sure anymore. She was making it seem creepy and that was enough to make me forget.
