Cheryl came over with a cup of steaming coffee in her hand and handed it to me and came to sit across from me.
I still had the laptop from the night before. My eyes were red rimmed and were trying to close badly. They felt so heavy I felt like they were going to fall off their socket.
"You pulled an all-nighter?" Cheryl asked sweetly.
I gave her a tight lipped smile and took the cup from her hand and took a sip from it. The heat of it sort of was like a wake up call. The effect of it was instant and it was soothing in my throat and on my tongue.
"What was that all about?" She asked.
"What was what?" I retorted. My mind was struggling to keep up at this point.
"Yesternight." She said point blankly.
I blinked twice, trying to recall what had happened the night before and then it finally clicked in the midst of all my haziness.
"Oh that?"
"Yes." She replied firmly.
"Well that is a very complicated matter that wants to take my life." I replied dramatically.
