Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 Seducing the Goblin

Forbidden Forest edge!

Adrian summoned five level 5 Slimes.

After his magic power was full, he held a shield in his left hand and a dagger in his right, carefully walking in.

Although the surrounding trees were tall, the gaps between them were large, and there was plenty of light, so it wasn't dark inside.

Adrian cautiously advanced towards the church's location he remembered, while keeping an eye on his surroundings.

Thump!

He carved a mark on a tree trunk with his dagger to prevent getting lost in the forest.

A few days ago, Adrian , being chased by Goblins, ran for ten minutes through the forest before escaping.

This time, due to his caution, Adrian took over twenty minutes to see the dilapidated church.

Adrian did not immediately approach; instead, he hid behind a large tree and sent one Slime to observe the situation.

After connecting his consciousness to a Summoned Slime, Adrian 's vision turned grayscale.

"Squeak!"

The Summoned Slime, controlled by Adrian , bounced out of the forest.

Bloodstains from the battle three days ago were still on the ground.

"Judging by the amount of blood, it must have been left by that brother who was shot in the arm!"

After reaching this conclusion, Adrian continued to control the Slime forward.

Just as the Summoned Slime was about to approach the collapsed church wall, an arrow suddenly flew down from above.

The sharp arrowhead easily pierced the Slime's skin, then completely embedded itself!

Adrian 's consciousness instantly returned, and he gasped for breath.

When he was hit by the arrow just now, Adrian thought he was going to die for a moment!

"An arrow shot from above!"

The Summoned Slime he sent over kept losing health and died shortly after.

But Adrian also got information.

He hid behind the giant tree, cautiously poked his head out, and looked towards the high part of the church.

The distance was a bit far, but Adrian still spotted a Goblin holding a bow, sitting on a slanted stone pillar, swinging its legs, and grinning as it looked at the dead Slime below.

Race: Goblin

Level: 5

Health: 500 / 500

Magic: 100 / 100

Skills: None

"It's level 5!"

Adrian was glad he didn't go up himself.

The stone pillar was about seven meters high, offering a wide, commanding view.

If he approached from the edge of the forest, he would definitely be discovered by this Goblin Archer!

Without precautions, even with a shield, there was a risk of being shot.

Moreover, once it discovered an intruder, it would surely call other Goblins.

Even a sentry was level 5, so the leader of the group would definitely be above level 5.

Adrian noticed that after killing the Slime, the Goblin Archer yelled a few times downwards.

Soon, several Goblins appeared in Adrian 's sight.

They were called over by the Goblin Archer, preparing to carry the Slime's corpse.

The Slime inside the Slime's body could also be used as food for Goblins.

The Goblin Archer said it had killed a very large Slime, enough for a dozen Goblins to feast on.

Slimes, being at the bottom of the food chain, rarely grew to a diameter of sixty centimeters.

Especially in a forest with many monsters!

But what confused them was that, besides an arrow, there was no Slime corpse around.

The Goblin Archer was also stunned when it heard the news.

It didn't know that the Slime was a Summon, and even less that Slimes would dissipate upon Death!

The Goblins, having searched in vain, left grumbling.

"There are level 5s, and also level 3s and 4s!" Adrian had seen their information when that group of Goblins appeared.

"It seems much as I imagined, these Goblins already have intelligence and clear division of labor within their tribe."

There were Archers acting as sentries, and a group of Goblins capable of close combat.

This was already a proper team!

For Adrian , Goblins being too strong was not a good thing.

Because this meant it would be very difficult for Adrian to find out where the captured women were from the Goblins, let alone rescue them.

However, Adrian didn't want to leave just yet.

After some thought, Adrian controlled another Slime out of the forest.

This time, Adrian didn't let it approach the church ruins, but instead had it circle the church.

At the same time, Adrian kept observing the movements of the Goblin Archer on the stone pillar.

When the Slime bounced out again, the Goblin Archer quickly spotted it and aimed its bow.

However, it noticed that this Slime wasn't approaching, so it lowered its bow again.

The two were over a hundred meters apart, already beyond the Goblin Archer's range.

"Pah!"

The Goblin Archer spat and then ignored the Slime running in circles, continuing to swing its short legs, playing with its bow, and wondering if it had been seeing things earlier.

It had clearly shot a Slime to Death!

"Hoo!"

Adrian sighed in relief and continued to control the Slime to observe the surroundings.

After a period of observation, Adrian gained some understanding of the terrain around the church and the distribution of Goblins.

The area was surrounded by forest, with a clear space in the middle.

At the center of this area was the church.

The church wasn't large; the entire ruin was roughly a circle about thirty meters in diameter.

Adrian was in the exact back of the church.

From the front, Adrian saw the church's main entrance.

On either side of the collapsed entrance were two broken stone statues, over three meters tall.

Next to the statues sat five short Goblins, with weapons like daggers, long knives, and spears beside them.

Among them were some of the Goblins who had been preparing to carry the Slime's corpse earlier.

At this moment, this group of Goblins were gathered, chatting, occasionally letting out unpleasant 'hehehe' laughter.

"Are those women all locked inside the church?!"

Adrian couldn't see what was inside the ruins.

But he believed that the captured women were very likely inside the ruins!

And there might even be Goblins guarding them.

"I must find a way to lure out a Goblin!"

This was Adrian 's main purpose for coming today.

If he could hunt down a lone Goblin, he could Summon Goblins to fight!

Both being monsters, a level 5 Goblin was much stronger than a level 5 Slime.

Goblins had intelligence, knew how to cooperate, and used weapons.

Even a level 5 apprentice Professional would have to be extremely careful when facing a level 5 Goblin.

Otherwise, it might be the apprentice Professional who died!

When Adrian first arrived in this new world, he used his trench coat to block a Goblin's vision, then fiercely smashed its head with a sharp stone, successfully killing a Goblin.

This involved both his daring and carefulness, and also some luck.

Goblins were not easy to kill; otherwise, the former mayor of Gruer Town would not have had only one Mercenary return after bringing more than a dozen Professionals above level 5.

"Grumble grumble..."

A Goblin in front of the church door finally noticed the Slime bouncing around in the distance. It picked up a wooden club beside it and walked towards the Slime with an exaggerated gait.

It was very excited.

It had been tricked by its companions earlier, and now, unexpectedly, there was such a large Slime right before its eyes!

It had been eating meat for days, so a change of flavor today would be nice.

When the Goblin got within thirty meters, the Slime seemed to sense danger and began to run into the forest.

The Goblin had already come this far; how could it let the Slime escape? It immediately chased after it, club in hand.
