A young 10-year-old Katsuki Bakugo, who has actually lived for more than 20 years, walks through the forest to relax. He'd been training hard for over a month after seeing Rock Lee, without any rest, and his body was asking for a day of doing nothing. He wouldn't even pursue his hobby of climbing; he was exhausted.
In a field of flowers, the ash-blond boy saw the girls in his class paying attention to their teacher.
—How strange... I swear there was no class today... Besides, there are only girls. —Bakugo thought with a frown.
Bakugo approached the kunoichi with his hands in his pockets, wanting to know what this was all about. The boy stood out from the others, and not just because he was a boy. Unlike the elegance of the girls in dresses from Japan's feudal era, Bakugo wore a black T-shirt with a skull in the center.
"Kunoichi have a special role to play. They must not only learn hidden jutsus, but also other knowledge and refinements as women. If you don't blend into enemy territory by adopting the ways of their women, you'll never succeed as spies," explained a bespectacled kunoichi wearing a headband with a leaf symbol. "In any case, today's class is about flower arrangement. Also known as ikebana. Now, everyone, go out into the field and pick some unusual flowers."
"Yes, sensei," all the girls said at once.
—Pfffff. What a load of nonsense. —Bakugo commented from a distance, leaning against a tree trunk.
"Who are you?" the teacher asked.
"Don't pay attention to him, sensei. His name is Bakugo. He's a fool in our class. He's so clumsy he doesn't even know how to use ninjutsu or genjutsu," explained a blonde girl named Ino Yamanaka.
The rest of the girls laughed at Ino's comment, except for Hinata, who looked at the boy with pity. Bakugo rolled his eyes and snorted, but calmed down when he touched his pendant, which reminded him of Mikoto.
"What are you doing here, young man?" the sensei questioned Bakugo with an accusing finger. "This class is for future kunoichi, not shinobi! Although from what Ino said, I don't think you're going to become one."
"Tsk," Bakugo muttered, suppressing the urge to insult her. "This is a free country. I'm on my day off, and I do what I want, old lady."
"Old lady? Didn't your parents teach you any manners?" the sensei asked.
"He doesn't have parents. He's an orphan," he explained to Ino again. "It's no surprise, considering his looks."
"Blonde bitch, you're going too far! Don't think that just because you're a girl I'm not going to give you the beating you deserve!" Bakugo threatened with his fist raised.
"Don't talk to my friend like that, baka (idiot)!" shouted a girl with pink hair named Sakura Haruno.
"What the hell does 'baka' mean, big-foreheaded girl? You'll get paid eventually!" Bakugo had lost his patience and strode resolutely toward the crowd of girls.
Ino stood in front of Sakura to protect her from Bakugo, but it was the teacher who intervened, placing herself in front of the ash-blonde.
"You better get out of here, if you don't want me to warn the Hokage," the sensei threatened.
Bakugo narrowed his eyes at her with hatred. He didn't want to see Minato, who was one of the people he hated most in the world, since the memory of him hiding something about Itachi's murder was still fresh in his mind. So he stopped himself from saying what he wanted to say and turned around. Not far away, he spotted a tree perfect for resting his back against and taking a nap.
His slumber was interrupted by a little girl's cries. He lazily opened one eye and saw Sakura crouching on the floor, sobbing.
"Grrr." Bakugo groaned in annoyance and tried to go back to sleep. But the crying got louder than before. "Fuck..."
He approached Sakura, ready to yell at her for having ruined his break, but seeing her so sad, he felt some empathy and relaxed his tone.
"Stop crying, big forehead," Bakugo said in a tone that seemed like an order. Sakura glanced at him, but that only made her cry harder. "Didn't you hear me, big forehead?" This time Sakura listened to him and stopped crying and sat up.
"This is your fault, baka! Apologize to me, Bakago!" Sakura shouted, making a pun with Baka and Bakugo, pointing her finger at him.
"Want to tell me what the hell baka means?" Bakugo asked, ignoring the forgiveness part.
"Idiot! It means idiot! Because that's what you are! An idiot! You're a Bakago!" Sakura shrieked, crying uncontrollably again.
"I'm going to let it slide this time because you're such a crybaby..." Bakugo muttered, gritting his teeth to contain his anger. "And why is it my fault, big forehead? As far as I can remember, I haven't done anything to you."
"Because of you and your stupid nickname, now my friends are making fun of me by calling me big forehead or big forehead!" Sakura complained, wiping away her tears.
—Hahahahahahahahaha. —Bakugo laughed out loud.
"And why are you laughing now, baka?" she asked angrily. Bakugo wiped the tears from his eyes from laughing.
"Because I didn't know you were so stupid as to care what some extras think. I'm laughing because you're stupid, and I find stupid people funny," Bakugo explained.
"They're not extras! They're my friends!" Sakura retorted.
—Well, maybe they're not your friends, forehead. —Bakugo said distractedly, since his mind was focused on the three girls who were approaching Sakura and him.
"Are you so pathetic that you came to be comforted by that silly little orphan, big forehead?" a little girl with long blue hair asked sarcastically. The three of them laughed at the comment.
"It's not that!" Sakura tried to explain nervously.
"Tsk," Bakugo muttered. "You girls are the ones who ruined my nap. Stop bothering the big forehead, you bunch of extras."
"Ha. What else, you silly orphan?" the blue-haired girl asked mockingly. "You better stop bothering us or we'll beat you up!" Bakugo knelt down and placed his hands on the ground. "This one is even more pathetic than Sakura! He's so afraid of us that he's kneeling down to beg for forgiveness!"
—HAHAHAHA— the three of them laughed maniacally. Sakura smiled shyly, very tense about the situation.
"If I were going to apologize, it would be for this," Bakugo said, looking up, his teeth bared. He grabbed a handful of dirt from the ground and threw it in the three bullies' eyes. "GO FUCK YOURSELVES, BITCHES!"
"AAAAAAAA!" the three girls shouted at once, blinded by the earth. "This won't end like this, little orphan! I'll tell on my dad!"
"Fuck off, extras!" Bakugo said, shoving the leader, who tripped and fell to the ground.
The three, frightened by being momentarily blinded by the earth, ran away with difficulty across the land of their eyes.
"Why did you do that?" Sakura fumed. "Now you're going to get me for it!"
"So what's it to me? They're bitches and they deserved it," Bakugo explained.
Sakura stood there speechless, unsure whether to thank her or not. She didn't have much time to think as Ino approached.
—Sakura! What are you doing? Time's up and you still haven't given any flowers to sensei.—Ino said, looking curiously at Bakugo.
"Oh no!" Sakura panicked at failing at her job. She quickly walked away.
"Hey, big forehead!" Bakugo called when he was already standing next to Ino, about 50 meters away. Sakura turned to see what the boy wanted. "Here!" She threw a flower she had picked at him like a shuriken. Ino caught it with difficulty.
"This is a sakura (cherry blossom in Japanese)," Ino thought in amazement.
"It's a very common flower in my country. The cherry blossom," Bakugo explained, lying back down on the tree trunk to go back to sleep.
"Thanks, Bakugo," Sakura said with a smile. "Maybe you're not as baka as I thought."
"Tsk," the ash-blond man muttered. "Go away if you don't want the four-eyes to scold you!"
"Shall we go, Ino?" Sakura asked her friend.
"You go. I've already given him the flower arrangement," Ino explained, keeping her eyes focused on Bakugo.
—See you later! Bye Bakago! —Saturday Sakura said goodbye.
"DON'T CALL ME THAT, YOU PINK-HAIRED BITCH!" Bakugo yelled. But Sakura was already out of sight; the only one left was Ino, who was approaching the boy. "So what do you want now, brat?"
"I saw what happened with Sakura," Ino said, sitting down next to her.
"Have you come to defend the honor of those bitches?" Bakugo asked mockingly, baring his teeth.
"No, of course not. Why did you do it?" Ino asked curiously.
"I already told your friend, those bitches deserved it, blonde," Bakugo replied.
"I don't mean that. I mean why you tried to cheer Sakura up earlier. You could have just ignored her crying and let it go. And then I don't know why you helped her by giving her a sakura," Ino explained.
"What do you care why, you blonde bitch?" Bakugo asked. Ino stood up from his side, pissed off.
"I was just surprised, that's all! But you're such a rude, loud-mouthed, clumsy, useless, idiot! I just wanted to thank you for what you did for my friend, but now I don't want to do it anymore!" Ino yelled, backing away from the blond.
"Hey!" Bakugo shouted, causing the blonde to stop. "Now I'm the surprised one. You're less of a bitch than I thought."
"And that's supposed to be a compliment, idiot?" Ino said indignantly.
"Take it however you want, blonde," Bakugo said, closing his eyes.
"Idiot!" Ino yelled, finally returning to where the teacher and her friend were.
What Bakugo didn't know was that Ino wasn't the only one who saw everything. Hiding behind a tree was Hinata Hyuga, who looked at the blonde in admiration.
"You're amazing, Bakugo," Hinata whispered to herself.
