Chapter 2 - 2. Sereia

Before my father passed away, Jaelith was assigned to be my personal knight. Although I didn't particularly like her at the time, she was the only person who could console and support me during that difficult time. A year after that, we met Naemira, a globetrotter, and were immediately enthralled by her since none of us had ever visited all of Elysara.

She didn't seem like the talkative sort, but after persistent prodding, she gave in and started talking to us.

I was getting ready for the day while the maids brushed my hair and I sat in my bed room staring out the window when I felt a small press on my lap. It snapped me out of my reverie and brought me back to reality. When I turned to see who had interrupted, I saw that it was Aslanor.

In Elysara, each person is born with an animal companion that symbolizes their individuality and characteristics. For me, it was Aslanor, a lion that I was given. Aslanor is a majestic lion with a golden mane, representing bravery, strength, and leadership.

As usual, Aslanor was incredibly obedient for a lion when I petted him. Like any other cat, he enjoyed being petted or massaged; to me, he was just a big cat. I treasure him greatly since I loved him so much.

Jaelith had A majestic eagle with sharp golden eyes and a wide wingspan, as her animal companion. The eagle mirrors Jaelith's sharp mind and her ability to see things from a broader perspective. As a protector and warrior, the eagle is a symbol of vigilance, freedom, and keen observation. It represents Jaelith's tactical mind and her desire to protect what she values. The eagle's ability to soar above the battlefield reflects Jaelith's need for clarity and strategic insight, always seeing the bigger picture in her decisions and battles.

For Naemira she had a sleek, mystical snake with iridescent scales, reflecting both beauty and danger.

The snake represents Naemira's connection to magic and her mastery over the unknown. It symbolizes wisdom, transformation, and subtle power—traits that align with Naemira's calm, calculating nature. The snake is also a symbol of protection in some cultures, fitting for Naemira's role as a sorceress who uses her powers for both defence and offense. It's quiet, graceful movements reflect Naemira's ability to strike quickly and efficiently when needed.

"Her Royal Highness, it's time for your training, please head towards the east hall, Miss Jaelith Orlova is waiting for you in training grounds," the maid said as she opened the door to my bedroom.

"Thank you, please let Miss Jaelith know that I will be there in a few minutes," I said as I got to my feet, grabbed my sword, and prepared for training.

Approaching the training ground, I yelled out to her, "Jaelith." Naemira and she were having a conversation when I eventually ran to them. "Oh, Naemira you are here too," I said. "Yes, I saw Jaelith standing alone here when I was returning to my tower just now, so I decided to keep her company."

"Going back? Where have you gone?" I inquired, "I visited the Enchanted Forest to gather magical herbs I needed for my potions and elixirs, and I also made sure the protective barriers were in good condition," She answered, displaying a basket filled with enchanted herbs.

"I see," I said, glancing at Jaelith, who appeared a little disoriented and stunned. "Did something happen?" I asked Jaelith, glancing at Naemira to see if she had any idea. "No... nothing, it's just that I drank a bit more than I usually do last night," Jaelith answered. This did not allay our concerns; rather, it increased them. "Why?" I asked Jaelith "No, it's just yesterday one of my comrades gave us treat because he got engaged so I drank a bit more than usual."

"Well, please don't drink more than you can manage," I chastised her.

"Yes, I apologize. I'll remember to drink responsibly". she meekly answered. "You better" Naemira added, "Yes, I will," Jaelith said, sighing.

"I'm going to leave now," Naemira remarked. "Oh, I see. Let's get started on today's training," I said to Jaelith.
