Raven's POV:
I quickly averted my gaze, pretending to adjust my gown, but my pulse was already racing. I could feel his eyes on me still, burning a hole through my skin.
Fantastic. Another way for the universe to remind me just how much it hated me.
Because apparently, it wasn't enough that my roommate turned out to be related to Lucian Blackhart. No, now a vampire prince had decided to single me out in a room full of predators.
I swear, I must've done something terrible in a past life.
Because, sure, it wasn't bad enough that Lucian—the most dangerous alpha in the school—was obsessed with making my life miserable. No, now I had a vampire prince apparently finding me interesting.
Why not just tattoo please ruin my life across my forehead at this point?
My palms were sweating. I could practically feel his gaze even without looking—sharp, curious, invasive. Like he could smell the panic hiding under my skin.
Worse, what if he could smell something else?
My scent.
