Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Little Girl Who Stole

Lin Ling hurriedly said,

"Absolutely, Brother Lin Dong! That worthless one suddenly became incredibly powerful, and he beat my brother to death!"

Lin Dong's face darkened.

He hadn't expected that Lin Yi, the so-called useless one, could actually kill Lin Chen. Could it be that his cultivation had somehow recovered?

Impossible!

His meridians and dantian had been destroyed. There was no way he could have regained his power.

"I want to see Young Master Lin Feng! He must settle this for me!" Lin Ling wailed.

"Young Master Lin Feng has been busy these past few days preparing for the wedding with Miss Shen. He's not in the manor." Lin Dong shook his head and continued, "I'll accompany you."

"That worthless one dared to act against the rules of the Lin family and even killed someone! How can I sit idly by? I'll capture him now, and Young Master can deal with him when he returns!"

Hearing this, Lin Ling's face lit up with hope.

Although Lin Dong wasn't as strong as Lin Feng, his Eighth Stage Body Tempering cultivation was more than enough to handle Lin Yi.

Once they captured this useless one, later that evening, when the family elders returned, Lin Yi's cultivation could be stripped, and expelling or killing him would be effortless.

"Thank you, Brother Lin Dong!" Lin Ling repeatedly expressed her gratitude.

Without wasting any time, she left with Lin Dong, full of determination, to hunt down Lin Yi.

On his way to the kitchen, Lin Yi opened his system panel and silently commanded:

"System, convert all my Violent Action points into cultivation."

[Received, Master!][Violent Action -50, advanced to Body Tempering Stage 5!][…][Violent Action -80, advanced to Body Tempering Stage 8!]

The power within Lin Yi surged rapidly, finally stabilizing at Eighth Stage Body Tempering.

[Master: Lin Yi][Cultivation: Body Tempering Stage 8 (0/90)][Martial Skills: None]

"Body Tempering Stage 8!"

Lin Yi smiled faintly.

His half-brother Lin Feng also cultivated to the Eighth Stage Body Tempering, and Lin Yi knew that if they were to duel now, he would still face a difficult fight, especially since Lin Feng possessed a first-tier martial skill, the Flowing Sword.

"After filling my stomach, it's time to visit the Lin family martial arts room," Lin Yi thought.

A short while later, he arrived at the Lin family kitchen.

Just as he stepped in, he saw a young girl sneakily taking pastries from a food box.

Startled by the noise at the door, she quickly stuffed the pastries back into the box and clasped her hands behind her back, looking guilty.

Upon seeing Lin Yi, the girl's round eyes widened in surprise.

"Brother Lin Yi!"

She hadn't expected to encounter him here, and the Lin Yi she saw now looked far healthier than the sickly boy from before.

The girl was Lin Yao, daughter of the Third Elder, Lin Hai.

She was only twelve, dressed in a pink silk dress, with a chubby, round face and bright, lively eyes—utterly adorable.

Lin Yao knew how harshly the household treated Lin Yi, often sending him only scraps of food. She couldn't bear to see him suffer, so she would secretly take pastries to give to him.

But she dared not take them openly, fearing scolding from her father, so she always came to the kitchen stealthily.

Seeing Lin Yao's nervous posture, Lin Yi's face softened into a gentle smile. He stepped forward and pinched her chubby cheeks.

"Stealing food for me again?"

Lin Yao's cheeks blushed slightly from his touch.

"Brother Lin Yi, why are you out here? If anyone sees you, they'll trouble you again."

By "those people," she meant the Lin family members who constantly looked down on and bullied Lin Yi.

Lin Yi rubbed his stomach and smiled.

"I'm too hungry to wait any longer."

"I've brought some for you. Hurry back before they see you," Lin Yao urged, gently pushing him toward the door. Her nervousness made her even more endearing.

Lin Yi smiled faintly.

"No worries."

He casually took a few pastries from the food box and started eating as he walked through the kitchen.

Seeing this, Lin Yao stomped her foot, her small face showing frustration.

"Brother Lin Yi, why won't you listen!"

Lin Yi swallowed a pastry and said nonchalantly:

"I'm not the same useless person I was before. You don't need to worry."

"I don't believe you! If you don't leave, I won't protect you when those people come!"

Lin Yao huffed, turning her head aside.

Yet in her heart, she wondered: Could Brother Lin Yi really be different now?

She sighed helplessly. Though young, she understood how badly Lin Yi had been treated. Unless a legendary immortal intervened, he would have remained a cripple forever.

After finishing his food, Lin Yi patted his hands.

"Let's go."

Relieved, Lin Yao nodded, and the two left the kitchen together.

However, as soon as they stepped outside, they ran straight into two figures: Lin Ling and Lin Dong.

Lin Yao's round face immediately fell.

Her heart skipped a beat—if they saw Brother Lin Yi, they would surely humiliate him again. This was bad.
