That night, Eichi sat cross-legged on his bed, carefully sensing his body's condition, and began to practice his technique.
Pale blue energy radiated a faint glow, illuminating the room. Beams of light formed by the energy encircled Eichi's body, slowly being infused into his body until it also began to release a stream of energy.
This internal energy stream looked no different from the surrounding light beams when viewed from a distance, but there were subtle differences. Imperceptible yellow energy particles were mixed in with the energy, blended with the blue particles, making it impossible to distinguish them from the outside.
Two streams of light slowly emerged from Eichi's body and infused into Beedrill and Scyther. The two Pokémon were already accustomed to the energy infusion and were peacefully enjoying it as they slept on their beds.
Meanwhile, within Eichi, he perceived that his entire body was filled with Bug Force. The energy was especially concentrated in some of his vital organs, where it had already begun to condense into a liquid state. After such a long time, Eichi had discovered new ways to use the Bug Force on his own. He felt that the more he practiced, the more it resembled something out of a fantasy novel. This Bug Force was increasingly similar to the spiritual power found in fantasy novels, although it lacked the versatility of spiritual energy.
There were people with special powers in the Pokémon world, including Eichi himself.
However, he had yet to encounter a second person with special abilities.
In the anime, Sabrina, the Gym Leader of Saffron City in the Kanto region, was a Psychic. Not just her, but her entire family and even the apprentices in her Gym were Psychics. Eichi was curious about Psychic powers. He wondered which was more powerful, Psychic powers or his Bug Force. However, these things could not be judged definitively in a competition; it depended on how one chose to use them.
After a bout of rambling thoughts, Eichi glanced at the sleeping Scyther. It is time for this child to evolve.
***
Three days later, in a dense forest, surrounded by trees, lush vegetation, and abundant plant life. Eichi arrived at a wide-open space, noting that the environment was excellent and spacious. It was very suitable as a location for Scyther's evolution.
Why not evolve it at the academy, but instead go deep into the forest? This was because Eichi's Bug Force was very active in the forest; its circulation speed was double of what it was at the academy.
When Scyther began to evolve, he planned to frantically pour Bug Force into its body. To ensure Scyther gained the maximum benefit from this evolution, he wanted to make every detail perfect.
For this evolution, Eichi had reduced Scyther's training regimen over the last three days, allowing it to adjust its condition. Concurrently, he thoroughly checked Scyther's physical status. After ensuring that every aspect was flawless, Eichi decided to let it evolve.
He released Beedrill and Scyther onto the open ground.
As soon as the two Pokémon emerged, Eichi said, "Beedrill, guard the surroundings. Do not let anyone or any Pokémon disturb Scyther." Beedrill nodded and instantly vanished from sight. Eichi knew Beedrill was surely positioned in an unseen corner.
Turning his attention to Scyther, he asked, "Scyther, are you ready?"
Scyther raised its scythes and said, "Scyth (I'm ready)." It was very excited and nervous right now. It had been preparing for days, constantly thinking about the evolution. Now it was finally time to do it. The image of Scizor floated through its mind.
Scizor, here I come!
It took a deep breath, calmed its excitement, and closed its eyes. After a moment, Scyther opened its eyes and nodded to Eichi. It was fully prepared.
"Good," Eichi said.
He then put down his backpack and took out two containers: one holding the Metal Coat and the other holding the two tubes of evolution fluid that Teacher Takemoto had given him.
That's right, Eichi didn't know what it was called, and he forgot to ask last time, so he gave it that name himself.
He placed the items on the ground and opened the first container. The two test tubes lay quietly inside, filled with a crystal-clear red liquid. Eichi took them out, opened the tops, and handed them to Scyther. "Scyther, drink this."
Scyther didn't hesitate at all. It put its mouth to the tubes and drank the contents. After the two tubes were emptied, Eichi asked, "How do you feel?"
Scyther checked its condition. "Scyth (It tastes good. I feel a little warm all over now)," it reported.
That's good. Teacher Takemoto had said that feeling warm was a normal phenomenon. Next, Eichi took out the Metal Coat. He twisted the container open, picked up a brush, dipped it in the metallic liquid, and began to apply it to Scyther's body. A fresh fragrance emanated from Scyther.
Scyther remained perfectly still, allowing Eichi to coat its body with the metallic liquid. Eichi diligently applied the liquid to every part of Scyther. After all the liquid was used up, Scyther said, "Scyth (I feel so hot!)."
Is it time to evolve?
Eichi put down the brush, stepped back, and began to channel the energy within his body. Streams of pale blue energy rose from his body. They then flowed into Scyther's body, where Scyther was already beginning to exhibit signs of change.
It seems to be working. Eichi continuously increased the energy output, and Scyther accepted it all without resistance, absorbing it completely. Scyther felt a tremendous fullness inside, as if something was about to burst forth from its body. Finally, Scyther let out a long, high-pitched cry towards the sky. Its body began to glow with the light of evolution. A white light enveloped Scyther. The entire surrounding area was cast in white.
In a dark corner nearby, Beedrill was also watching Scyther's evolution, but it remained vigilant, ensuring nothing could interfere with the process.
Within the light of evolution, Scyther's original body began to change. Its height increased by over ten centimeters from its original 1.6 meters. Furthermore, its two forward scythes retracted, transforming into large pincers.
After about a minute, Scyther, or rather, Scizor, emerged from the light of evolution.
Standing before Eichi was a fully red Pokémon, the evolved form of Scyther, Scizor. Scizor was entirely covered in crimson armor, with two pairs of translucent wings on its back. However, its body was too heavy for it to fly. Scizor's pincers were potent, and the patterns on them resembled eyes, which it could use to intimidate opponents.
Eichi extended his hand and said, "Congratulations, Scizor. You have finally evolved."
