Cassian's POV
"Cease fire," Luciana said into the phone, her voice sharp, her face beaming with an arrogant expression that would soon be wiped off her face. The command left her mouth like she still believed she had authority over this situation, over me, over my house.
She looked at me as if expecting me to do the same, her hands strengthening on Celine's neck.
I chuckled under my breath, picking up my phone, I dialled one of my men.
"Cease fire."
"Yes, boss."
The noise outside stopped, and a chilling silence crawled into the room.
Only Celine's muffled, shaking breaths filled the space. I could see her chest rising and falling rapidly, her eyes wet, wide, terrified, but still, somehow, defiant. Her hands were bound behind her, her lips taped shut. Marcus was nowhere in sight.
"Where is Marcus?' I asked, lowering my tone, trying not to show the storm raging inside me at the moment.
