Chapter 70: Room Of Requirement
---Failed---
"Look what you have done!" roared Bellatrix, her voice echoing with fury. Her eyes widened in rage as she glared at Umbridge. Without hesitation, she cast the Cruciatus Curse.
Umbridge was too slow to react. The curse struck her squarely in the chest and she collapsed onto the floor, screaming in agony. Pain exploded in every nerve of her body. She had never imagined herself on the receiving end of this curse... after all, she was always the one wielding it against helpless Muggle-borns.
This was a humiliation she would never forget.
One minute passed. Then two. Still, the screams continued as Umbridge writhed under the curse. Bellatrix showed no mercy until her husband, Rodolphus, stepped forward with a warning.
"The Dark Lord will be angry if she ends up insane like the Longbottoms."
Bellatrix finally lowered her wand, a sneer curling on her lips.
"You're lucky," she spat, then kicked Umbridge hard in the ribs before spitting on her. With that, she turned and strode away, her cloak swirling behind her as she made her way toward Greyback, still seething, still needing to make someone pay.
The mission is very simple, it is to convince the werewolf to join them as a Dark Lord Army. Greyback usually listened without question - driven by both his fear of Voldemort and the freedom that came with serving him. It gave the werewolf permission to attack Muggle-borns and half-bloods without restraint.
But everything had spiraled out of control because of one woman, Umbridge.
Her words, her arrogance, had offended Greyback so deeply that he no longer wished to listen. He growled threats instead of offering obedience. Bellatrix and Rodolphus were left as frustrated bystanders... this mission, after all, had been assigned to Umbridge directly by the Dark Lord. Their job is to become by stander and watch how Umbridge doing her first mission.
Still lying on the floor, Umbridge trembled, her body still twitching from the aftershocks of pain. Her mind slipped into memories, back to the days when she stood proudly at the Minister's side, Fudge's ever-loyal undersecretary. Back when power was sweet, and she could freely torment Muggle-borns secretly with a smile on her face and no one to stop her because no one even knows about it.
The taste of that authority had left her and she is the one who become the victim of the Cruciatus Curse.
She clenched her fists in silent fury. Yet she dared not retaliate. She knew the truth once you join the Dark Side, there is no turning.
There was no leaving the Dark Lord's service. You followed him... or you were hunted and there won't be any forgiveness if you dared to betrayed him.
---The Room Of Requirement---
Creating Dumbledore's Army was a necessary plan to defeat Voldemort. In the original timeline, it played a crucial role — without it, Harry might have lost everything.
The DA saved lives, ignited rebellion, and became a symbol of hope for students during one of Hogwarts' darkest times. It even helped Harry when he returned to Hogwarts in the final battle. The group became more than a student organization — it was resistance, it was courage, and it was unity.
In this timeline, however, Dudley would be the one to take Harry's place as the leader and teacher. He believed that the DA was still essential, maybe even more so now. The threat hadn't changed, only the people had.
Without the DA, Hermione would never have created the enchanted Protean Charm on the fake Galleons, a clever method to send messages among the members. This was especially valuable in times of war, when communication could mean survival.
The real problem came when Dudley needed to name the group.
He had two choices, Dumbledore Army or Dudley Army.
Dudley was just a nobody in the eyes of many. He didn't have the prestige or legacy of someone like Dumbledore. The only things attached to his name were that he was Hogwarts' top student and Harry Potter's cousin. That alone wasn't enough to inspire people.
He chose the name Dumbledore's Army. It carried weight. It struck fear into Death Eaters and inspired hope in the hearts of students. It was a name that meant something.
Other than him, only a handful of people knew about the Room of Requirement. It remained unknown to the rest, including Harry himself. The less people knows about the Room, the safer his club would, it was something Dudley could use to hide his people.
Taking inspiration from Neville in the seventh book, Dudley manipulated the Room of Requirement magic. The room could alter its location and appearance based on the seeker's need. If someone wanted a door beside Gryffindor Tower, the path would form, and a door would materialize near it.
So, Dudley modified the Room of Requirement to create a hidden path that ended near Argus Filch's office, an area few students dared to approach.
By doing this, he ensured that the Room existence remained secret. Someone like Draco Malfoy would never be able to smuggle in the Vanishing Cabinet and use it to breach Hogwarts with his Death Eater.
He knew he was changing the story. But he didn't care.
He was a transmigrator and had already become one of the key players in this world. Maybe he was even the new protagonist now, not his cousin. So why not change the plot as he saw fit?
"Dudley, where did you find this room?" asked Harry, clearly shocked. Hermione and Ron exchanged looks and nodded, just as curious.
Even Susan, Hannah, Ernie, and the rest of the Hufflepuff group were stunned. They had expected Dudley to pull something from his magical pouch, not to discover an entirely new space within Hogwarts.
"Quiet, everyone," Dudley said firmly, ignoring his cousin's question.
"First of all, this meeting is to create a club or more accurately, a class, where you'll learn how to defend yourselves against the Dark Arts. Just studying theory, without practicing wand movements or incantations, will get you killed in a real duel. So, who wants to learn... and who doesn't?"
The room went silent.
Then, a girl from Ravenclaw stood up. Her voice trembled slightly, but her eyes were firm.
"Is it true? Is You-Know-Who really back?"
