"Of course — after all, this is Mystic Falls," Caroline said with a teasing smile as she leaned in close.
Ron looked at her, caught off guard by her boldness, and before either could stop themselves, their lips met.
"Caroline, are you sure this isn't just an impulse?" Ron asked, his arms gently circling her waist.
"Absolutely," Caroline answered with a soft laugh.
At that, Ron stopped thinking altogether. He drew her closer, their kiss deepening as the night around them melted away.
"Come on, let's head back and tell Bonnie and the others," Ron said after a while, still holding her in his arms.
"Mm-hmm," Caroline replied with a grin, intertwining her fingers with his as they walked back toward the bonfire.
But as soon as they arrived, they noticed a crowd gathered, panic in the air. Someone shouted, "Call an ambulance!"
Ron's sharp instincts kicked in — he spotted a girl lying on a table, Matt crying out, "Vicki, stay with me!"
"She's been bitten! She's losing too much blood!" Elena said anxiously, pressing down on Vicki's neck wound.
"Was it a vampire? Stefan?" Ron wondered silently. But as he looked around, he saw Stefan standing back, pale but clean — no trace of blood on him. That meant… there was another vampire nearby.
"Who's Vicki?" Ron asked Caroline beside him.
"Matt's sister," Caroline said, her voice trembling.
"I know some first aid — let me take a look," Ron said. Concern outweighed caution; he decided to use one of his spell seals, curious whether they could work on others too.
"The wound's near a major artery. Too much blood loss — we need pressure here," Ron said, pretending to wipe away blood as he pinpointed the damaged vessel. Using the Rabbit Seal's heightened perception, he located it precisely. Pressing his hand over the wound, he channeled the Horse Seal — the healing sigil. He carefully controlled the flow of power so it wouldn't fully heal in seconds and draw suspicion.
He could feel the energy taking effect — the bleeding slowed as torn vessels began to mend. Once the worst of it was fixed, Ron stopped channeling magic.
"Keep pressure here. Once the ambulance gets her to the hospital, she'll be fine," he explained calmly.
Everyone was relieved to see the bleeding stop. When the paramedics arrived, Matt rode along with Vicki to the hospital. The party was over; no one could keep celebrating after that. Only the close group — Bonnie, Caroline, Elena, Jeremy, and Ron — stayed behind to wait for news.
When word came that Vicki was stable, they all finally exhaled.
"Let's head to the Mystic Grill and wait for updates," Bonnie suggested.
"I need to take Jeremy home," Elena said softly.
Bonnie nodded. "Alright, the three of us will go then."
At the Grill, Bonnie looked at the two sitting across from her — Caroline clinging to Ron's arm. "So… are you two official now?" she teased.
"Yeah," Ron admitted with a smile. "We were just about to tell everyone when… well, you saw what happened."
"Mystic Falls' two hottest guys, taken by me and Elena — can you believe it?" Caroline grinned.
Bonnie chuckled. "You two are my best friends. I'm happy for you. Looks like you don't need me to walk you home tonight, huh?" She winked at Ron.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure she gets home safe," Ron said confidently.
Later that night, once they knew Vicki was stable, Bonnie said goodbye, and Ron drove Caroline home. What followed was... a natural progression of their newfound relationship.
(Let's just say, much like in the show's first season, Caroline and Damon weren't the only ones moving fast — Mystic Falls has its own kind of magic.)
The next morning, Ron woke in Caroline's bed. Seeing her still asleep beside him, a faint blush on her cheeks and a mark of crimson on the sheets, he felt both calm and a little surprised. He pulled her close, kissed her cheek, and subtly used the Horse Seal again to mend the small wound she had from last night.
"You're awake," Caroline murmured, opening her eyes.
"Yeah. It's getting late — we should get to class," Ron said, his tone casual as his hands mischievously roamed.
Caroline giggled, swatting him playfully. "Then get up, lazy. We're going to be late." She kissed him quickly, then stood and began dressing.
Ron watched her move — confident, playful, radiant. A perfect little storm, he thought, smirking.
After getting ready, Ron drove them both to school, arriving just in time for class — though they didn't share that one.
During History, Mr. Tanner's patience snapped as he saw Elena and Stefan whispering to each other. "Am I interrupting something, Mr. Salvatore? Miss Gilbert?" he said sharply. Ron hid a grin.
When class ended, Caroline found Ron, and the two joined Bonnie outside.
"So… are you a witch or a psychic?" Caroline asked Bonnie bluntly.
"My grandma says I'm a witch. A descendant of the Salem witches, actually," Bonnie said. "She tried to explain it once, but she'd had a bit too much to drink, so I didn't take her seriously."
"Sounds like a crazy family myth," Caroline teased.
"Maybe," Bonnie said with a shrug.
"I think it's pretty amazing — a witch lineage?" Ron said seriously. In a world where vampires were real, witches probably were too — and Bonnie might be one.
"Maybe," Bonnie replied, half-smiling.
Just then, Elena walked by after speaking to Matt. Caroline called her over.
"Hey, we're having a girls' hangout. You're coming," she said, linking arms with Elena and Bonnie.
Caroline turned to Ron. "You head home first. We'll catch up later."
"Sure thing. I'll take you to my place tonight," Ron said, kissing her forehead before leaving.
When he got home, the smell of freshly cooked food greeted him. "Lunch ready yet? I'm starving," Ron called, stepping into the kitchen.
"Almost done," Sarah replied cheerfully, bringing out steaming dishes.
Ron smiled. For the first time since arriving in Mystic Falls, things finally felt… normal.
