Chapter 8 - Chapter 6: Grave of Gods

A few days later, Wis walked out of his room and wandered through the sacred halls of his Father's house. The place was massive, stretching upward like a mountain carved into a palace. Pillars taller than towers rose into a sky of glowing light. Every step echoed as if he were walking through the ribs of a sleeping giant.

"Father," Wis asked softly, "why is it so massive here?"

The Father looked at him with a quiet smile, surprised that Wis had only now begun to notice.

"I was so busy watching the pond," Wis explained, "I didn't even see the structure. It feels like a titan lives here."

"That is because I am what you mortals would call a Titan," the Father replied calmly.

Wis stared at him. "Then why do you look like a middle-aged man who has lived a life of endless luxury?"

He thought to himself that if Father ever appeared in the mortal world, he would bring chaos just by existing. He was majestic and sacred, almost unbearably beautiful. It was as if the god of beauty himself had taken a male form.

"My child," the Father said, "do you want to learn from me from now on?"

Wis hesitated. "I think I will keep wandering your sacred home for now."

As he wandered deeper into the halls, he noticed there were no other living beings, no servants or spirits, only silence and endless corridors. Finally, he returned to the sacred chamber and asked, "Father, is there anyone else here besides you?"

The Father nodded slowly. "Of course. They are at the bottom."

Wis tilted his head. "The bottom?"

"We are at the peak of the mountain called the Grave of Gods," the Father explained. "If you wish to go down, you may do so."

"Maybe next time," Wis said.

"Are you afraid?" the Father asked.

"Of course not," Wis replied quickly.

He hesitated, then said, "I want to go to the mortal realm… but it still feels early for me."

"I thought you liked it here," the Father said, watching him closely.

"I do," Wis admitted. "But I cannot stand watching the mortal realm. Innocent people dying. Suffering. Being betrayed by their own kind."

The Father's voice softened. "Now, now, my child. You are my disciple now. You cannot interfere in the affairs of the mortal world. We can only observe. But if you truly desire, I can rebirth you as a new person. Would you want to keep your memories?"

Wis shook his head. "I want to stay here for as long as I can."

The Father smiled faintly. "It is up to you, my child. For now, let us continue to observe."
