I am thinking a way out by using the mirror, but i can't. I don't know how.
I am feeling that i am lost in unknown dimension.
And, am responsible for that.
A light, and lady like knock wakes me from my thoughts. Our attention turned to the door. Anna opens the door, finding four girls standing outside.
The girl with dark skin held bunch of cookies.
"Hello!" Says a shortie girl, among them, with a bright smile.
"Hi, i guess." I replied with akward look.
"You must be the new comers. I am Redone. Nice to meet you." Says the girl with the cookies.
"After Mr. Harvard passed away, his son sold their house to you, then moves to another city. You are lucky to have this house. Everybody wishes it. We came here to welcome you and give you the agreement… and some cookies too."
"What do you mean, Sold?" I asked the girl who shares the information. Her cinnamon hair flying across her face.
"You guys are the one who bought this house."
"Us?" Says Diego.
"Yes… you." she answers. She thought we are idiots, already forgot that we actually bought the house before. But something is weird about us. About this place. Where was the day we bought a house? The house is kinda cheap but we haven't bought anything.
"The…agreement?" Andrew reminds.
"Here you go."
He started reading the paper. His eyebrows tilting up when he reads something surprising.
"Umm… you can enjoy the cookies.
We gotta go now. Bye!"
they give us a big smile then left.
"We bought the house with a hundred fifty silver coins-" Andrew lifting the paper up to show to us."-and we sign the agreement too—is there anybody who has a signature like that?"
no one.
i don't know what kind of game we are in. i thought about a reincarnation but there is no such a thing.
A kidnapping?
I kinda thought about it too. It doesn't look like kidnapping. A dress like this and village like this to kidnap someone?
Come on.
I should just accept that we are in a valewood village.
Just think about a way out!
To find a way out, i guess i should see around this village. I need to know about this place. Maybe i might get another cave. I can't tell about this to them. I won't risk them again. After i done this, i won't expect myself to ask them to help me. I should try this alone and save them. I will start looking around at midnight. When they fall asleep, i will sneak out.
When midnight comes, i started checking the rooms in this house. It is a little creepy at night, though i kept finding knife or gun or something. Just a weapon to fight someone while heading outside if someone bad approaches. After i finished in the living room, i went to the bedroom where Nic at. I opened the door slowly, cringing my face when it makes a sound. When it made a space to pass in, i came through the room. Nic's ear is completely off when he sleeps so i can find whatever i want freely.
I found a chest next to the bed. I pull it open. Finally i found a tinny sharp knife in it. I also checked the kitchen before. I found nothing. The Mr. Seller took every tool in this house. In the living room, there is four sofas and dinning tables a far. There is three rooms with single bed and chests sometimes. Thanks to the cookies, we had a dinner. Anna told me that she was waiting for me to sleep with her
but i am sure that she is asleep right now.
I grabbed the knife then i head to the door to start my mission. Suddenly I tripped over my leg then i fall off on the ground. The knife's metal crashing on the wood, and echoing through the room.
Oh shit.
It is too loud.
I started thinking a fake story to cover myself out. Lucky got me—he didn't wake up.
Phew. He is a good sleeper.
I went outside. Receiving the cold weather it holds. I only have this dress. It must be woren in summer so am trembling beneath the foggy village. It looks terrifying. It doesn't have a street lights—it has a little lanterns around their house but not familiar with it. My heart is pounding so hard that it is going to explode.
I calm my self then started walking. I looked every place in this village. I didn't care if i got lost. The moon shines brightly covering the lights of the lanterns. I searched for a mysterious caves but i couldn't find any. I pulled out the old mirror that sucked my blood from my dress. Maybe it might have GPS tracking in spiritual way.
I was staring to the old mirror cursing it because of—i don't know why. That's when my brain hurts when it begins to fill the sound i heard when i was in that cave before. I screamed. Birds flying from the trees because of my scream. When i slide my head to the left, I saw a wolf running towards me growling. My head is demanding me to run, but my feet doesn't move. The gravity holds my legs tight. The wolf jumped on me. I closed my eyes waiting for to scratch me. Suddenly i heard a fast footsteps. When I opened my eyes, i saw Nic running towards the wolf then cut him with that sharp knife.
My eyes widened. My mouth parted with a shock.
"Shit. Eve, are you alright?" Asked me. Panting and sweating.
He looks hot.
The voice disappeared when the wolf was dead. I forgot about the sound and started doodling on Nic. It hardly made me to bite my lip when i see his wet shirt glued to his abs.
Nic narrowed his eyes.
"Evelyn?"
"Yes!" I snap.
"We. Need. To talk."
"Yeah."
His eyes softened.
"I won't yell at you, when we talk. Am not like your brother."
"I know."
He turns to get back to our new home. I stood there for a sec. I run to him, holding his arm to stop. He turns to me, concerned.
"Uh…i don't want to go that place. There is a clif nearby. I found it while going around. Let's talk there.
Please." I begged.
He kept silent for a bit. Then he whispers.
"Ok."
We sat on the clif. Feeling the cold breath of this forest. When the wind goes past the trees and make them to wave, it has feeling that disappearing from our world then coming here isn't a regret. Actually i haven't felt like this—enjoyed like this.
"Why did you go out at midnight?"
"How did you follow me?"
"Answer my question first."
"To find a way out."
"To find a way out at this hour?!" He shouts. Glaring at me with full of frustration.
He continues.
"Look. I didn't mean to yell at you. I am so angry right now. I want to shout at you. Yell at you because you've done a big mistake. It's just i don't want to be like Andrew."
Tears begin to fill in my eyes.
"But it's my-"
He cuts in.
"It's not only your fault. It's ours.
We are in this problem, we found a way out, Together."
I sobbed. More tears running through my cheeks. He pulls me to a hug. I started crying loud—my head on his chest.
After minutes, i asked.
"How did you find me?"
"You were in my room. Remember?"
"But while you sleep, you're like a dead person!"
He chuckles with a calm tone.
God, my ears are melting.
"You underestimated me that much Huh? I wasn't sleeping but pretending, when i heared footsteps. I know you're crazy so i followed you."
"The knife?"
"You accidentally dropped it while you're heading."
I nodded.
"You are strong."
"What do you mean?"
"You killed the wolf."
He looses a deep breath.
"I don't know. I haven't done this before but i just did it."
I nodded agian—surprisingly.
"Nic"
"Yeah"
"Keep this as a secret."
"Ok"
"And thank you for saving me."
"Don't mention it."
We talked, we laughed even sang together. We didn't realize that the sun is already coming. I've never seen Nic talking like this before. It's like i knew him better than everyone.
While our conversation, i witnessed a movement from behind. My gaze turns to the wood behind me. i found Nic noticing that too.
A bunny bursts out from the grasses. I giggled. I thought another wolve was going to attack us. I sighed. The warm of the sun reflecting on my face. The wind lifting my hair a little up. I smiled.
Nic was looking at me with those different eyes. Then a shyness reflected on my face.
I think he realized that. He watches me like he saw a beautiful thing for the first time.
Oh baby, you are being delusional.
He smirks then he breaks our eye contact away.
But still… i am not feeling that only the bunny was in that wood. My back feels so heavy. It's like someone is behind me. I am telling myself that it was just a bunny. My heart didn't accept that. I started feeling nervous. I turned my face slowly to the wood again.
I froze. I was right. Something indeed was behind me.
It wasn't a wolf or a bunny this time.
It was black boots then it disappears in the woods.
Oh god, there is someone out there. I don't know who it is.
And his aura, he is so dangrous.
I am feeling it.
