Norrak chuckled as he created two balls of water around Toph's feet, and the blind bandit released a satisfied sigh, melting against Norrak's chest with comfort. Ty Lee's eyebrow twitched at the sight.
Katara is still writing about her knowledge on how to be able to fly, and frowned as she sensed a disturbance in the force. She looked up, and her eyebrows twitched at Toph's action.
"Ignore it, Ty Lee..."
"Ignore it, Katara..."
Both of them whispered to themself with clenched fists, stopping themself from smacking Toph on the head. Instead, they calmed down, and Ty walked to sit next to Norrak.
Soon, Katara finished her scroll of knowledge and handed it to Wan Shi Tong. Immediately, Katara asked a question for Wan Shi Tong. Her eyes filled with hope.
"Do you know if my father and mother, Hakoda and Kya, a warrior from the North Water tribe and a bender, are alive?" Katara asked with clenched fists, her eyebrows low.
Wan Shi Tong closed his eyes and, after a few seconds, opened them. His eyes contained a bit of pity as he looked at Katara. Katara tensed at the look in Wan Shi Tong's eyes.
"I am sorry for your loss, child. But my fox spirits have collected information from the wars, and your parents, unfortunately, were included in the fatalities," Wan Shi Tong replied.
Katara's head dropped, and her hands hung beside her. Her eyes became wet. Norrak stood up and walked next to Katara, embracing her in his arms.
"Katara, let it out. Holding it in will only make it worse," Norrak said in a comforting tone as he rubbed Katara's back, resting his chin on top of her head.
Katara immediately started crying as she hugged Norrak. Ty Lee and Toph were silent before standing up and walking towards Katraa. The two embraced Katara and closed their eyes.
[A few minutes later...]
"I can give you this room. But only for a single day," Wan Shi Tong said as he led the group to a room with a single bed. Katara's eyes were red, with dried tears on her face.
"Thank you, Wan Shi Tong. This means a lot," Norrak said with a tiny bow, and the owl nodded before walking away, leaving them alone. Norrak led the three girls into the room.
"Let's get some sleep, tomorrow we have a journey ahead of us," Norrak said with a smile before taking off his boots. Katara found the same, and she curled up on the bed. Norrak shuddered before wrapping his arms around her waist and spooning her.
Ty Lee and Toph looked at each other before they each jumped onto the bed. Toph's more petite body was between Norrak's and Ty Lee's, who smirked as she blew a breath on her neck.
"Stop that!" Toph said with annoyance as she blushed. Ty Lee smirked before closing hr eyes.
[next day.]
Wan Shi Tong opened his eyes as he sensed Norrak and the three girls walking towards him. Turning a corner, Norrak smiled as he saw Wan Shi Tong hanging upside down from a branch.
"Wan Shi Tong, can I ask my questions?" Norrak asked with eagerness in his tone. His hands shook with excitement as she looked at Wan Shi Tong with hope.
"You shall, but do not be disappointed if I do not have an answer. I am merely a spirit, after all," Wan Shi Tong said with a nod, though he was curious as to what Norrak would want to know.
"Can you tell me where the spirit of space is? And if I can get to him?" Norrak asked, and Wan Shi Tong looked at him with surprise. Katara raised an eyebrow, while Toph and Ty Lee shrugged.
They didn't know what a spirit of space was, but it sounded cool to them. Wan Shi Tong took a deep breath and looked at Norrak with a nod, expressing his knowledge of where the spirit of space is.
"The spirit of space is the first spirit that came to exist after the Tree of Time. Without it, nothing could exist, except time itself. You and I are both here because space exists," Wan Shi Tong began to explain, and Norrak, who knew about the tree.
"And the spirit of space is right here, if I do say so myself," Wan Shi Tong explained, and a ripple appeared next to Norrak. From the ripple, a corporeal body containing galaxies, stars and nebula stepped out.
Norrak stepped to the side as he felt an otherworldly presence move from him. He looked at the spirit in his eyes with wonder and excitement. It was nothing like he had ever seen.
The form kept changing every second in his eyes. A second, it was a star, then a planet and then gas giants, all in a human form. The spirit turned his head to Norrak and smiled.
"You... Have an extremely high affinity with space, almost as if you have been travelling with it from birth... No, even before birth," Inane said with a hint of curiosity in his... Her voice?
Bang!
Everyone watched as Norrak got on one knee, and he looked up at Inane with utmost excitement. This is the key for him to gain power that will make him invincible in the future.
"I have a request for you, if you would listen to it, it would mean everything to me," Norrak said, his hand on his chest. Katara, Ty Lee and Toph watched with wide eyes, with Toph being angry.
"Get up from your knees, you fricking loser! You are not allowed to kneel, even in front of a spirit!" Toph said in anger as she tried to pull Norrak up from the floor.
"Toph, please let me talk alone with this great spirit for a moment," Norrak said as he gently pushed Toph back. Instantly, he used absolute zero to produce a dome around him, Inane and Wan.
"Interesting child... You shall call me by my name, Inane. Now, tell me your request, but be warned that I may take one thing from you in return for it," Inane said, and Norrak sighed. He never thought his request would be accepted from the goodness of the heart.
"Yes," Norrak agreed.

Yeah, you guys already know what Norrak's request is going to be. By the way, is it me, or are the spirits in the world for Avatar kind of a let-down?
Like, why did we never see spirits representing the main things in the universe? We do have the mother of faces, but it's just the mother of faces.
Where is space, and other things like that? So I decided to introduce my own spirit.
