"It is not enough that we do our best; sometimes we must do what is required."
― Winston S. Churchill

Seeing the focused expressions on his comrades' faces, the man continued.
"The problem is that our world is being drained of its essence while its budding will is being suppressed by these parasites; what mana we see is only a fraction of what should be present normally."
"These ruins you see weren't made by the natural flow of time, but by these parasites.
These creatures descended on this flourishing civilisation and ground every living being to dust, just because they had arrived closer to the truth."
"Our wills can't take the next step towards ascension because our guiding light, our mother 'Yan-Ahar', has been shackled by these tyrants and thus we can only fumble blindly in the dark."
Sadness was evident in each pair of eyes; the only emotion besides sadness flickering in their eyes was the flame of rage waiting to erupt at the opportune moment.
"The only way to break these chains is to eradicate these oppressors. For this, we would attack all four places simultaneously without any second of delay, if any one of these beings is not occupied; that will spell our doom right that instant."
"First, our formation specialists would cast a wide area mana-dampening formation and a concealment formation encircling the places where these wretches lay."
"Then our anti-divination experts would make sure that no information about any of our movements gets out."
"After a few hours of observation, the real game plan would begin. The first attack would be a false ploy to wake up these beings and distract them for even an instant; for that, almost 70% of our fighting force would self-destruct. These warriors would all be in the infusion or enlightenment realm... this calibre of manforce would be the only way to catch these beings' attention at least, just for them to let their guard down for an instant."
Saying this, the man sighed in resignation and the absurdity of it all.
"Most of these warriors are just lunatics and madmen who have joined our organisation for our backing as an 'evil' organisation. All of them have been planted with a suggestion spell personally cast by Miss Fifth. Only the upper echelon of these ranks knows the true motive of our organisation and could be considered true members who would do anything for our goal."
"After this, the four of us, Third, Twelfth, Fifth, and finally me, First, will use the improved method of ascention to the next realm. This method is flawed; thus, we would have only twelve hours to complete the battle before our souls start to disintegrate from the absence of firm will foundations. During these few hours, our mana reserves would be elevated, but they would start to degrade and empty at a rapid pace; thus, we need to be quick and decisive."
"For the mana, we will use the billions of quintessence stones our predecessors have gathered for the past millennia. The only thing we lack is the foundations for our wills. To compensate for that, we will use concentrated quintessence stones that will deliver high damage output, even if our wills are lacking."
"If the four of us perish, the next four of us will take their place; if they perish, the next four will do so."
"Only our bodies need to hold out till we empty our energy reserves, as for the contingency... we've also researched a ritual using the mana harmonics and astral formations from the ancient ruins, that helps us connect to the galaxy's consciousness."
"If nothing works, then our last resort would be to contact a higher being... possibly two or more ascendant levels above us, then sacrifice every last one of our members and have only one of us blessed for a small time frame. After that, a calculated rampage would be needed to be executed to reach all four continents in the smallest time frame."
Looking at all thirteen members present in the meeting, all of them didn't shrink away from their duty and from the inevitable future lying in front of them; that being, a fate of inevitable doom. Each of their eyes held a firm conviction that they would rather let their souls be burnt to a crisp, their bodies rotted to dust, than to back down from their duties. These people had pledged to free their planet of this corruption, no matter the cost, and now, the time for their duties to be fulfilled was near, as was their inevitable end.
"The world sees us as the rebels to the natural order, not knowing the order they feel so comfortable residing in is just a false illusion maintained by these tyrants that seek to devour our planet, our lives and our children's lives."
"We could either live in ignorance, like cattle, or we could struggle helplessly against our fates. This is our last chance to cut off the marionette strings these wretches control with their hideous paws."
"If we fail, our legacy shall continue... Old man Thirteen, you will be our last resort if everything else goes to sh*t; you will carry on our inheritance, our techniques, and our will to the next generation. Find a group of suitable disciples and train them, mould them, then have them inherit the entirety of our lives' work... even if we die, our motherland should be freed. If not by our hands, then by our children's."
The man named Thirteen merely nodded in affirmation.
The man named First then continued to enlarge the image of the four beasts while pointing at them.
"This will be the biggest gamble our organisation will have ever taken since its inception. The reason is that these beasts would probably ascend to the next realm in a few thousand years. This is concluded from the timeframe they have been consuming ascenders and from the mana fluctuations starting to emerge from their bodies, which a being only at the cusp of a breakthrough emits."
"If they step into the next realm, our planet would become redundant to them, and any of our four species would have no chance to beat them in any way or form. We would be nothing but glorified slaves from that point on."
"We have to fight this battle now or else there won't be anything left for us to fight for in the future. The future of Yan-Ahar rests in our hands, and the future of our children lies in our hands. The weight of our forefathers, mentors, parents, and ancestors lies on our shoulders. Our backs would break before they would ever bend; all the misery of our ancestors will be repaid in blood in the coming month!"
Placing his palm on his heart, First said in a trembling voice filled with determination and resolve. Seeing this, all other people stood up and did the same gesture as him while uttering the same phrase.
"For our fathers, our mothers, our masters, for our children, for our motherland, for Yan-Ahar!"
