Chapter 4 - Trial of the Spark

The world around me dissolved into white.

One moment I was in my brother's chamber, the next I was standing in a vast, empty plain. The ground was cracked, the air humming with electricity, the sky lit by endless storms.

A cold voice thundered in my mind:

[First Trial: Lightning's Spark]Ignite your divine essence. Survive the storm.Failure = death.

My stomach clenched. "Death…?"

Before I could react, the storm broke. Bolts of lightning rained down like spears, splitting the earth in blinding flashes.

I stumbled, barely dodging one strike. The air was alive with raw thunder. My body shook, my heart hammered. This wasn't training. This was a crucible.

[Warning: Rust-tier body cannot withstand divine lightning. Risk of disintegration: 93%.]

"I figured!" I shouted, voice ragged. "But if I die here, I'll never become anything more than an extra!"

I clenched my fists. The first bolt struck me square in the chest.

Agony ripped through me—flesh burning, blood boiling, every nerve screaming. But beneath the pain… something stirred.

A spark.

It wasn't outside me. It was within. A core of light deep in my heart, dormant until now.

"Wake up…" I hissed through gritted teeth. "If you really are Zeus's system, then give me power!"

The spark exploded.

Lightning roared out of me in a blinding surge, wrapping my body in crackling arcs. My blood sang. My skin seared—but I was alive.

The storm bent. Instead of crushing me, the next bolt was drawn into me, swallowed by the spark that had become a roaring flame.

[Trial Complete.][Rank Advanced: Bronze.][Skill Unsealed: Bolt Manifestation.]

I staggered, panting. My hands glowed, lightning crawling across my fingertips. Instinct guided me—I raised my hand and unleashed a streak of pure thunder.

It ripped through the empty plain, splitting the ground in a jagged scar.

The voice spoke again, deeper this time.

Child of Zeus… your path has begun.

The plain shattered, and I woke on the floor of my chamber, gasping for air. Sparks danced around me, the smell of ozone thick in the room.

Richa burst in, eyes wide. "Caelum?! What in the gods' names was that?!"

I smiled weakly, lightning still crackling in my palm.

"Brother… I think I finally found my spark."
