Behind the black-robed Luo Yu, nine awe-inspiring dark-gold great dragons coiled and circled. Dark-gold night power enveloped him completely, and a faint, king-like majesty naturally emanated from the man's body.
Su Yaoyun bit her red lip and shook her head. Her beautiful eyes dimmed slightly.
"This won't work. The power Nightmare released earlier with the Rakshasa God Armor was far stronger than this."
"She couldn't do it—that doesn't mean I can't," Luo Yu replied calmly, already having a plan in mind.
Su Yaoyun clenched her slender fists. Luo Yu's master had come to save her; she would never allow him to fall into danger because of her. She had already made up her mind—if he proved no match for this woman, she would unleash a suicidal strike to help him break free.
"Playing tricks and pretending to be mysterious!"
Gu Yuena's purple eyes were indifferent as she flicked her hand, causing countless elements to converge.
Red fire elements and blue ice elements intertwined. Under her vast spiritual control, they became perfectly rounded, briefly fusing into circular rings.
Luo Yu laughed. "I think the one playing tricks and pretending to be mysterious is someone else, don't you?"
Gu Yuena controlled the ice–fire rings before her, each charged and ready to strike. Hearing Luo Yu's words, a flicker of color passed through her beautiful eyes as she grew vigilant.
"What do you mean by that?"
Luo Yu replied playfully, "What I mean—you don't know?"
"Lowly human, stop being cryptic with me." Gu Yuena thrust both hands forward. Rings of ice and fire that looked harmless but concealed terrifying killing intent flashed with dim light as they shot toward him.
"Trivial tricks, not worth mentioning!"
Facing the terrifying attack, Luo Yu showed no fear. He rubbed his palms together as black clouds churned and his aura surged, assuming a stance as if he intended to meet the attack head-on.
"Be careful!" Su Yaoyun cried out.
"Whoosh."
Two seconds before the attack arrived, a smile curved at the corner of Luo Yu's mouth. His figure vanished instantly from where he stood, commanding the power of night to form two giant hands that grabbed Su Yaoyun and the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, fleeing toward the distance.
"Shh! Don't make a sound. Only an idiot would clash head-on with her."
Su Yaoyun was completely stunned by the man's maneuver. She had truly thought he was going to fight the opponent head-on.
The twin ice–fire rings exploded violently at Luo Yu's previous location. Ice and fire elements piled up and detonated, a ferocious and violent aura shooting straight into the sky, forming a small blue-and-red mushroom cloud.
"Despicable human!"
Seeing her attack miss, Gu Yuena nearly crushed her silver teeth in anger. She realized she had been tricked. Judging from his earlier momentum, she had thought he was going to fight her directly and hadn't guarded against him fleeing at all.
Having seized the opening, Luo Yu carried Su Yaoyun as they sped through the night.
"Whoosh, whoosh"—the sound of tearing air echoed continuously beside the enchanting woman's ears.
She chuckled in admiration. "That move was incredible. Forget her—even I didn't expect that your plan from the very beginning was to take me and run."
"Who said I was running?" Luo Yu replied oddly.
"Huh?" Su Yaoyun was stunned. "Then what are we doing now?"
"I already said it—anyone who dares touch my disciple's woman won't get away with it," Luo Yu said.
"But we can't beat her. The one behind us is monstrously strong. Being able to escape is already good enough," Su Yaoyun said hesitantly.
"Shh, don't talk. Just watch."
"I don't want you to be implicated because of me," Su Yaoyun said, biting her red lip.
"Don't say that. You're my disciple's woman—there's no such thing as being implicated," a teasing voice came from within the black robe.
This time, Su Yaoyun didn't refute it. A shy expression appeared on her peerlessly beautiful face, blooming brightly like a lotus in the morning dew.
Luo Yu's heart stirred, but he quickly raised his guard. After all, the Silver Dragon King was no ordinary opponent.
Based on what he knew, at this point in time Gu Yuena's strength had definitely not recovered. She couldn't easily leave the Star Dou Forest. The woman chasing them now was powerful, but not yet at the level of a true god.
After quickly reasoning it out, Luo Yu was ninety-nine percent certain that this was merely a spiritual avatar. Nightmare and Su Yaoyun could only confront such a spiritual avatar head-on—but he was different. He was an expert specifically in dealing with such methods.
"Whoosh, whoosh."
Ice spikes and fireballs continued to fly from afar, smashing toward Luo Yu.
Behind them, Gu Yuena's flawless face was filled with fury. She had actually been played by a human. If she let them escape today, it would be an unparalleled humiliation.
"You dare provoke me—then don't run if you have the guts!" a cold and furious shout rang out from behind.
"Close your eyes," Luo Yu shouted to Su Yaoyun, who was wrapped in the power of night.
"Hm?" Su Yaoyun was puzzled.
She soon understood. As Luo Yu's left eye opened and closed, a dazzling golden light burst forth.
Taking advantage of Gu Yuena's reckless pursuit, Luo Yu suddenly turned his head back. The divine ability of the Golden Eyes of Shattering Delusion was pushed to its extreme. Streaks of golden light shot out. Completely unguarded—thinking Luo Yu was focused only on escaping—Gu Yuena was struck directly.
The divine light of the Golden Eyes of Shattering Delusion took effect. Gu Yuena's body instantly became illusory, her form transforming and revealing her true nature.
A cold snort rang out. Brilliant silver radiance burst from her illusory figure, destroying and expelling all the golden light. Her body solidified once more, transforming back into the silver-haired beauty with hair cascading like a waterfall.
The corner of Luo Yu's mouth lifted slightly. He had already seized that fleeting moment to see through her true form. Just as he suspected, the one displaying power now was not the Silver Dragon King's true body, but a fantastical, nine-colored scale.
"What just happened?" Su Yaoyun asked, confusion in her beautiful eyes.
"Don't worry about what just happened. Just watch how I take down this arrogant little lady today."
A surging battle intent erupted from Luo Yu. He felt immense interest in an opponent like this, recalling his old profession—the Night Patrol Imperial Envoy, specialized in dealing with illusory souls and spiritual entities.
"Tch." Su Yaoyun felt his words were a bit rough, but they sounded overwhelmingly domineering and pleasant to the ear. In that instant, she felt as though the man before her radiated an inexhaustible sense of security.
"Despicable human. As expected, you only know how to rely on petty tricks."
Behind them, Gu Yuena's pretty face changed color as she raged. With a casual slash through the void, dozens of moon blades were released at once.
"Damn!"
Luo Yu came to a sudden stop. His deep black eyes gleamed with sharp light and battle intent. In the night sky, nine great dragons rampaged across the heavens, opening their massive jaws and directly swallowing all the moon blades.
As the black dragons exploded, the scattered power of night gathered once more around the man.
"You go stand aside. If you're scared, you can run first."
Su Yaoyun shook her head. She remembered that even when Nightmare went all out, he couldn't take down the woman before them. Though she didn't know what methods Luo Yu possessed, he probably wasn't stronger than Nightmare.
She believed he would lose—but she had no intention of fleeing. Instead, she fell silent and stood to the side, respecting his choice while secretly accumulating strength, ready to strike at any moment.
