The moon hung high in a sparse sky. On the desolate plain, massive rocks stood scattered, and faint signs of small creatures stirred beneath the sand.
Whoosh!
A pink streak shot through the night sky from afar, pursued closely by several massive elemental orbs.
Within the pink glow, Su Yaoyun failed to dodge in time and was struck by a deep-blue orb, crashing down from the air.
Boom!
Dust exploded outward as a large crater formed on the ground.
Cough, cough…
A coughing sound rose from the pit. A seductive, fiery woman leapt out, her clothes torn in several places. Her aura was unstable, yet she bore no obvious injuries.
At her feet lay the Three-Eyed Golden Lion. Its body was badly scorched. It had already been on the verge of waking, but after being used as a shield repeatedly, it was now barely breathing and had once again fallen unconscious.
"Keep running,"an icy voice suddenly sounded beside her.
Su Yaoyun's heart jolted. She looked up abruptly to see the flawless silver-haired少女 already standing before her, violet eyes filled with cold indifference.
"I have no grudge against you," Su Yaoyun said. "Why pursue me so relentlessly?"
"No grudge?"The silver-haired少女 stepped closer."You took something that belongs to me. That price must be paid."
"You mean this thing?"Su Yaoyun lifted the Three-Eyed Golden Lion."If you want it, I'll give it back."
"Heh."
The少女 sneered. A beam of ice-element light condensed at her fingertip. She had no intention of continuing the conversation.
The icy beam shot forward. Su Yaoyun forced her nearly exhausted spiritual power into a radiant shield in front of her.
"Your companion was interesting," the少女 said coldly."But you are far inferior."
She increased her output. The shield shattered instantly, and the beam shot straight toward Su Yaoyun's throat.
At the critical moment, Su Yaoyun activated her soul power. Six soul rings—purple, purple, black, black, black, black—rose behind her. She didn't try to block the attack, instead throwing herself aside with all her strength.
The condensed ice beam grazed her shoulder and slammed into a massive rock behind her.
The dark stone was pierced clean through. Ice energy gathered instantly around the hole, erupting violently and shattering the rock to pieces.
Huff…
Su Yaoyun's chest rose and fell sharply as she stared in shock at the shattered boulder. Her six soul rings were the result of recent cultivation—much of it thanks to Luo Yu.
Yet even with such a configuration, she felt no sense of safety.
The woman before her was terrifying. Beautiful as a fairy, but ruthless and decisive in combat.
"It's over."
The silver-haired少女 raised her hand. Several crescent-shaped blades formed from spatial energy appeared before her, slicing forward simultaneously toward Su Yaoyun.
Su Yaoyun pressed her red lips together and detonated the power of her ten-thousand-year soul skills—but they couldn't slow the incoming blades at all.
A trace of despair flashed in her pink eyes.
Slash!
A streak of light suddenly appeared in the sky.
Dark-golden power surged downward like a waterfall from the heavens, crashing between Su Yaoyun and the moon blades.
The flowing night-gold energy carried overwhelming dominance, washing over the blades and erasing every attack into nothingness.
The silver-haired少女's eyes widened slightly—rare surprise flashing within them. She scanned the surroundings, finally fixing her gaze in one direction.
Su Yaoyun froze for a moment, then felt a familiar aura. Her beautiful eyes trembled as she looked the same way.
Step… step…
From the darkness emerged a tall, imposing figure. The dark-gold night power around him behaved like loyal subjects, bowing in submission.
"Who are you?" the silver-haired girl demanded coldly.
Tonight felt abnormal to her. The beings she encountered were nothing like ordinary Douluo natives. The earlier two women had strange spiritual powers—this black-robed man was completely unreadable.
Even as a Dragon God avatar who controlled elements, she found the darkness around him entirely beyond her control. It wasn't elemental at all.
Luo Yu arrived instantly. Seeing Su Yaoyun unharmed, he relaxed.
He briefly acknowledged the girl breathtaking beauty—but didn't care.
He walked straight to Su Yaoyun.
"Weren't you hunting soul beasts?" he asked."How did you end up like this?"
Su Yaoyun parted her lips, surprise lighting her eyes.
"How did you know I was here?"
A calm echo came from beneath the black robe.
"My disciple sensed you were in danger. I rushed over."
"Your disciple?"Su Yaoyun froze, cheeks faintly flushing."That kind of connection…"
"Then how did you find this place so precisely?" she asked.
Luo Yu pointed upward."With the way you were fighting, the light was visible hundreds of li away."
Her expression shifted as she recalled Nightmare being driven off earlier.
"We need to leave—now. Even Nightmare ran from her. We can't win."
Luo Yu paused."That thing showed up too?"
Before more could be said, his gaze sharpened. He spun and punched backward.
Dark-gold power condensed into a roaring dragon, smashing directly into a cutting spatial blade.
Boom!
"Trying to sneak attack?" Luo Yu said coldly, adjusting his hood.
"No one saves her tonight," Gu Yuena said disdainfully."Not even you."
Luo Yu ignored her and turned to Su Yaoyun.
"Who is she? How did you provoke someone like this?"
"I captured a Three-Eyed Golden Lion in the Star Dou Forest," Su Yaoyun said quickly."She appeared out of nowhere and chased me nonstop."
"The Star Dou Forest…"
Luo Yu's mouth twitched slightly as he studied her silver hair.
Of all the luck… you caught a soul beast and dragged out the Silver Dragon King.
"Alright. I know who she is."
Both women stiffened.
"You know me?""You know her?"
Luo Yu faced Gu Yuena calmly.
"Whoever you are—anyone who touches my people pays the price."
"Bold," Gu Yuena sneered."Do you have that strength?"
"Try me."
"Run—!" Su Yaoyun cried.
"Shut up."His tone was absolute."My people were hurt. I don't run."
"My people…"Su Yaoyun froze, face flushing even in this deadly moment.
Gu Yuena laughed softly, killing intent erupting.
"You're the first human to dare speak to me like that."
Dark-gold clouds surged behind Luo Yu, condensing and spiraling.
Nine colossal dark-gold dragons manifested, soaring and roaring behind him, dominating the sky.
