Chapter 86 - Crushing Like Rotting Wood, Luo Yu Who Protects His Own

Luo Yu's Martial Soul radiated a terrifying fluctuation, far surpassing the War Brothers' War Hammers.

"Which clan's genius is this? Wearing a mask—could it be because he's too young?" someone in the crowd murmured in confusion. The oppressive aura released by Luo Yu's Martial Soul was simply too strong.

Xue Wu's ice-type Martial Soul seemed affected by a scorching flame, but she paid it no mind. Her beautiful eyes sparkled as she looked at Luo Yu—this guy seemed to have gotten even stronger.

The War Brothers' heads buzzed, wishing they could swallow back all the arrogant words they had just spoken. This Martial Soul's aura—how could it belong to a single ring soul master? What a joke!

Then, beneath the golden Haori phantom, a single white Soul Ring appeared.

The entire arena froze for a moment before erupting in noise.

"No way! Such a powerful Martial Soul, and he only has one ring?"

"A Soul Ring that strong and it's white? Is this guy brain-dead?"

Even the elder who had been calmly analyzing the situation before was dumbfounded. What kind of situation was this? The first Soul Ring was the foundation of a soul master's future. If it was white, their cultivation path was practically doomed.

A nearby youth mocked, "Old man, didn't you say this brat wasn't ordinary? Well, that white ring sure isn't ordinary—it's special all right."

The old man opened his mouth, but his momentum vanished. He had no rebuttal.

The War Brothers, who had been scared stiff moments ago, suddenly relaxed. Their five-win streak seemed no longer in danger. Seeing that white ring, they looked as though they'd seen a ghost—then burst out laughing.

Zhan Tiexin smirked. "Kid, you really scared me for a second there. I thought you were pretending to be weak to trick us. Turns out you're just a trash chick relying on a woman to get by."

Beneath the mask, Luo Yu's deep black eyes swept over the two of them indifferently, as if he were staring at two stray dogs.

"Xue Wu, warm up with those two."

Hearing the displeasure in Luo Yu's voice, Xue Wu instantly grew alert, darting forward like lightning.

"Kid, you sure know how to act cool. Ordering women around, huh?" Zhan Tiexin laughed wildly, swinging his huge, dark-glowing hammer. "Bro, that pretty chick's mine. You take the weak one!"

With that, Zhan Tiexin charged forward to clash with Xue Wu, and the arena burst into a mix of blue and black light.

Having trained under Luo Yu for a while, Xue Wu naturally wouldn't clash head-on with a strength-type soul master. She dodged his blows with agility, using her Martial Soul to constantly disrupt and restrain him.

Meanwhile, Zhan Tiedan—his brother—rotated his wrists, hefting his massive iron hammer as he approached Luo Yu step by step, sneering. "Kid, after I finish with you, Grandpa's gonna go enjoy that pretty girl too."

Luo Yu's lips moved slightly.

Zhan Tiedan blinked, then mimicked the lip movement—before realizing the insult. His face twisted with rage. "You little bastard! Did you just call me an idiot?!"

The audience erupted in laughter.

"Is this guy brain-dead? He literally mouthed an insult to himself!"

"He's got weak strength but dares to provoke others—this one-ring idiot's done for," muttered the record keeper.

Luo Yu only shook his head.

Being ignored made Zhan Tiedan furious. His first Soul Ring flared, and his black iron hammer instantly tripled in size, swinging down toward Luo Yu with terrifying force.

Everyone thought Luo Yu was doomed—or at least about to be seriously injured.

Then he moved.

With a "whoosh," a golden blur flashed. Luo Yu's left hand caught the burly man's massive, hammer-wielding arm mid-swing.

The brute's eyes widened in shock. He hadn't expected Luo Yu to attack so suddenly.

Muscles bulged, veins popped—the man was using his full strength—but his arm felt like it was caught in an iron vice. He couldn't move an inch.

He roared, swinging his other fist the size of a sandbag straight at Luo Yu's face.

Crack!

Luo Yu met it with a bent-arm counterpunch. The bones snapped audibly. The brute's fist twisted grotesquely, his mouth opening for a scream—but Luo Yu yanked his left hand back sharply.

The man's own arm was pulled across, his misshapen fist slamming squarely into his own face.

Crunch!

Teeth shattered. His arms fell limp. Blood poured down his stunned expression, frozen in disbelief.

Luo Yu's cold eyes flickered. He swept out a kick, and the man dropped to his knees.

"You—you—how could you?!" Zhan Tiedan's previous arrogance vanished, replaced by sheer terror. His missing teeth made his voice whistle.

"Shut up." Luo Yu's eyes flashed with impatience as he kicked the man flat, stepping on his chest.

The fight had lasted only seconds.

In the arena, Xue Wu was still locked in battle. Confident in his brother, Zhan Tiexin was fully focused on fighting her.

The audience, however, was dead silent.

Countless jaws hung open. The once-arrogant, foul-mouthed Zhan Tiedan now lay motionless under the boot of a supposedly "one-ring" soul master.

Gulp.

Someone swallowed loudly. All eyes were fixed on the masked young man with the cute tiger mask, their spines tingling.

No one was stupid—a one-ring soul master who crushed a Soul Elder like that? That wasn't normal.

Some people's hands trembled in excitement. This ticket was worth every coin!

The old man from before glanced at the stunned youth beside him, chuckled, and shook his head.

Even the record keeper was speechless. Suddenly, he felt like a clown. Who was I to mock him? A guy who walks around with seven gorgeous, talented girls—that's not just money. That's power.

Inside the ring, Zhan Wuxin, though startled, had years of combat experience. His soul power was higher than Xue Wu's, and she was being forced back step by step.

Then his second Soul Skill burst forth, a flying hammer knocking Xue Wu back. He grinned smugly.

"Sweetheart, leave your contact info, yeah? That one-ring trash you hang with—he's nothing. Next time, I'll take you to the Great Soul Arena for some fun!"

Xue Wu's expression turned cold, completely unlike the warmth she showed Luo Yu. Her eyes filled with disdain. "You? You think you're worthy?"

"I'm not worthy?" Zhan Tiexin swung his giant hammer again, but Xue Wu slipped aside, and the two faced off once more.

"My brother's probably already beaten that one-ring loser half to death!" Zhan Tiexin laughed, turning to look—

—and froze.

Across the ring, a man wreathed in golden flames stood cold and still. Behind his mask, those deep black eyes watched him icily. Beneath Luo Yu's feet lay his unconscious brother, blood silently spreading across the ground.

Zhan Tiexin's whole body trembled violently. He turned toward the referee, mouth opening wide: "I—"

But Luo Yu was already moving.

Golden flames exploded with a thunderous roar. Like a meteor, he crossed ten meters in an instant, twisting midair to drive a single crushing punch into Zhan Tiexin's gut.

The word "surrender" never made it out. The burly man was sent flying skyward.

"Get back."

Luo Yu's calm voice warned Xue Wu as the ground cracked beneath his feet. He leapt up, caught the airborne man by the belt with one hand, and slammed him down like a living weapon.

Boom!

The floor shattered, dust rising in a cloud.

Zhan Tiexin twitched on the ground, coughing blood. His eyes were full of sheer terror as he stared up at Luo Yu—like gazing at a demon. His mouth opened, but no sound came out.

Luo Yu crouched down, his eyes behind the mask glinting coldly. "Next time, watch your mouth."

"Mm—mm!" Zhan Tiexin's face twisted with regret as he tried to crawl away.

Luo Yu slowly stood, looking down indifferently. "I'm the kind of man who protects my own. Say whatever you want about me—but insult my people, and you're done."

Xue Wu stood behind him, stunned. She hadn't understood why he was so furious before, even frightened when she saw blood.

But when she heard that last line, every girl—whether onstage like Xue Wu or watching from the Tianshui Team below—felt their hearts quake.

"Is this really the same lazy, easygoing man?"

"So this… this is his true self?"

Soft, dreamlike murmurs filled the air. That overwhelming sense of safety pierced every girl's heart.
