They ran out of the base just as the last of the explosives were disabled. Outside, Isabella and the reinforcements had taken down the remaining guards. The sun was rising over the valley, painting the sky orange and pink.
Alessandro collapsed on the ground, his leg and shoulder throbbing. Clara knelt beside him, her eyes filled with tears. "You did it," she said. "You saved us all."
Enzo sat beside them, his face pale. "I'm sorry," he said again. "For everything."
Alessandro placed a hand on his shoulder. "It's over, Enzo," he said. "We're family again. That's all that matters."
Isabella walked over, a smile on her face. "The other bosses are waiting," she said. "They want to thank you—especially Clara. They say they'll follow her lead, not Salvatore's."
Clara stood up, her chin high. "Then we'll build something new," she said. "Something better. No more betrayal, no more violence—just respect."
Alessandro looked up at her, his heart full. She was the light in his darkness, the reason he'd fought so hard. And now, together with Enzo and Isabella, they had a chance to make things right.
Rico drove up a few minutes later, his face filled with relief. "Everyone okay?" he asked.
"Everyone's okay," Alessandro said, smiling. "For the first time in a long time."
They got in the car and drove back to the safe house, the sun rising higher in the sky. The hunt for Clara was over—but their story was just beginning.
