Hello, it's me, the author 'PenInk.' It's a lame name, I know... but this isn't about me! Maybe I'll make a special, egocentric chapter at a later date!
This is a special chapter to talk about some... errrr... 'lore'? 'worldbuilding'? Don't worry, this isn't some info dump, and it's completely optional! It's just for the curious! Enjoy!
I don't want to reveal too much unnaturally, so future archives and main story chapters will expand on info written in this one.
Also note, some information here is subject to change! If it isn't stated in the direct story, then you might wanna take it with a grain of salt, since these are my own thoughts which are ever-changing!
I don't edit these at all, so pardon any errors... thanks.

Geography — In the known world, there are three continents:
The central continent, Caelthar, The Heartland. The southern continent, Qadithar, The Golden Reach. The eastern continent, Byongrae, The Dawn Continent.
Caelthar is the main setting. The entire continent is ruled by one royal family, and governing body is divided among nobles.
The capital, Zion, is where the royal family resides.
Magic Tower — Just outside the capital, there is a large magic tower.
This is where the greatest wizards study, very similar to a modern-day university except students attend from age eleven to eighteen.
Of course, many wizards don't go all the way to the tower to study. In fact, the majority study under experienced teachers as apprentices. The tower isn't a requirement at all.
**********
Currency & Trade — In Caelthar, there are four distinct coins that serve as currency.
Chit - least value, Copper
Stub - worth 10 chits, Silver
Turn - worth 30 stubs, Gold
Ledger- worth 50 turns, Gold, printed with noble sigil

Characters
Demon Child, Linnie — The first apprentice of the wizard, Alwyn. He's lived many lives, though this is his first time experiencing the world as a human.
His skewed world view can be attributed to his upbringing. Often, he'll act more like a feral beast than a boy. Though, that could be said about a lot of growing boys...
Linnie joined Alwyn out of desperation. With nothing left for him in his hometown, he decided to follow the wizard he at first considered a 'fruitcake.' Why? The power that was used to destroy his town was just too cool!
Currently, he's suffering from a severe case of insomnia. It's not any physical ailment, in fact, the boy's pretty sure it's a curse forced on him by a deity, the supposed 'Saint Pischt,' who he made a deal with.
If friends described him in three words, he would be: small, scrawny, cute
He has messy, pale purple hair, fair skin, and bright red eyes. He's below average in height (thanks to malnutrition) and measures around 152cm or 5'0ft tall.
Linnie's 14 years old, though he may as well look twelve or younger.
The Everflame Wizard, Alywn — Great and prodigious young wizard. If he stayed in the tower and honed his abilities, he might've become known as the greatest wizard of all time. For some reason, though, he abandoned his climb to fame for a different purpose, leaving all in the wizarding world at a loss.
Why would a young talent such as he throw it all away?
Alwyn is on a journey around the continent, doing his wizard duties and collecting apprentices for an... unknown reason.
Perhaps he just wants to teach? Though it is unusual for a wizard as young as he to take up the occupation, rather than continue honing their own craft. Especially
If 'friends' described him in three words, he would be: arrogant, foolish, the-greatest-wizard-to-live!
He seems kind of weak right now, though?
Alwyn has messy raven hair, fair skin, and bright green eyes. He's above average in height, measuring around 195cm or 6'4ft tall. He's a handsome young man!
Alwyn's a fresh 20 years old.
The Scorned Wizard, Aliza — Talented and intelligent wizard, if she stayed in the tower and honed her abilities, she might've become very famous. For some reason, though, her core was shattered and she was banished from the tower!
What could she have possibly done to warrant such a punishment?
She seems to have a past with Alwyn, though it's not clear how exactly they know each other... Alwyn was definitely surprised to see her, though. He think she's changed a lot. Whether that's his own misinterpretation of her in the past or if she truly did change...?
Aliza's spent nearly all of her days since her banishment trying to recover her core, a feat that's never been accomplished before. Her experiments had grave consequences.
If friends described her in three words, she would be: dark, fun, hot...?
Aliza has mid-length, dark gray hair, pale skin, and milky gray eyes. Her ears have multiple piercings each, and she's far above average in height, measuring around 188cm or 6'2ft tall. She's a beautiful young woman...
Aliza's 21 years old. Fresh, too...?
The Cat, Lady — A cat that led Linnie down into a strange place. She used to be able to speak. She's also quite intelligent, though I guess that's obvious, since she could speak. Ahem.
Lady can't speak anymore! Perhaps its connected to the deal Linnie made, and his own sleeping problem?
If... friends? If friends described it in three words, it would be: cute, eerie, kitty
Lady has short, black hair and bright orange eyes. She's about average size for an adult cat, though her ears and feet are quite large.
Is it still growing?
The Siaryn, Liora — A young girl that was due to be sold off as a slave to the duke of Corvailles.
She's quite mysterious, being a real, living(?), breathing, Siaryn!
According to her, she spent her time in her previous master's estate as a sort of dress-up doll, having only the sole duty of sitting there and looking pretty.
It's not uncommon for Caelth slave masters to find beauty in the 'exotic' southern features of their slaves.
She's quite bubbly, cheerful perhaps for being finally freed. Not only is she free, she's told she has immense potential to become... a wizard!?
To her memory, she was born and raised in Caelthar, so she has no real connection to the southern continent. Despite that, she won't even be treated as a Caelth citizen. Well, she's a wizard, now, whether they like it or not...
If friends described her in three words, she'd be: annoying, loud, pretty
Liora has long, ankle-length white hair. Her skin is golden brown, characteristic of Qadithari southerners. Her eyes are golden yellow, resembling a pot of honey, and she's around 166cm or 5'5ft tall.
She's 15 years old, a year older than Linnie.

Fun Facts
- Qadithar and Caelthar both follow religions that are largely the same. Cultural practices and naming senses are different, but the deities are all the same.
- While Caelthar is the name for both the continent and kingdom, Qadithar is divided into twelve 'clans', though with one empire that holds power over the entire continent.
- There are 12 deities, not counting the godhead, that Caelthar and Qadithar both worship as saints and emirs respectively. The godhead is the all-mighty creator who the 12 serve, named simply 'gaud' (clever, right?)
- Saint Pischt is the 12th saint, and her equivilant in Qadithar's faith is Emir Bishan.
- 'Wizard' is a gender neutral term. Men and women are both labled wizards if they practice wizardy, or, most usually, magic.
