Matthew Atkinson
London, United Kingdom
Matthew stayed at home for one night.
The next morning, he chose to return to the university.
It wasn't that he didn't want to stay home more, but that he didn't want to skip his daily sunbathing.
Staying at home for one night was enough.
Once his father's company was on track, he would have him buy a sunbathing machine for their home, and then he could come home and stay as long as he wanted.
After returning to Oxford, Matthew first went to his apartment, bathing under some sunlight, collected his earnings for the day, and then went to campus.
At the campus, the first person he visited was Professor Holland.
After all, he asked Professor Holland for leave, so he had to let him know when he came back.
"You're back?"
Professor Holland was pleased to see Matthew and said, "You're back just in time. Remember to be on time for class tomorrow."
Matthew replied, "Okay, Professor."
"By the way, your hometown is London City, right? There was a spacetime rift in London City yesterday. Did it affect you?"
"No, I hid in the shelter for a while, and then the crisis was over."
Upon hearing this, Professor Holland sighed, "London City was lucky this time. They had a young powerhouse there who stopped the monsters. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unpredictable. Spacetime rifts are rare and unpredictable. Normally, reinforcements intervene in time, but this time it was very close to the city."
Matthew's heart stirred, and he immediately inquired, "Professor, I've also watched the video about that young powerhouse. Where do you think his strength ranks in the country's powerhouses?"
"Ranking?" Professor Holland shook his head and said, "I don't know, but he still has a long way to go before he becomes a true powerhouse. Judging from that young powerhouse's performance on the battlefield, according to the country's strength classification, he can probably reach the sixth-tier standard."
"Above the sixth tier, there are still the seventh tier and the king tier."
"Those at the fifth or sixth tier can only be considered mid-level supernatural beings, while only those at the seventh tier can be called strong, and top-level king-tier experts are the trump cards of every country."
Matthew nodded, understanding what Professor Holland was saying.
He was just asking casually.
Professor Holland suddenly added, "Actually, when the government set the standards for the supernatural tiers, there was an unknown tier above the king tier. Rumor has it that its name is god-tier. However, to reach the god tier, one must at least have the overwhelming ability to destroy a planet with a single blow, so no one has been able to reach it so far."
Matthew was taken aback. "If no one can reach it, why did they set up such a level?"
"I don't know either." Professor Holland shook his head and said, "Judging from the higher-ups' intentions, they really hope that a god-tier expert will emerge. There's even a document that clearly stipulates that once a god-level expert appears, all national resources can be mobilized at will, and everyone must cooperate."
Upon hearing this, Matthew's heart skipped a beat.
He guessed that the higher-ups had issued such an encouraging document to cultivate a god-level powerhouse to fight against the existence devouring the sun.

Matthew Atkinson & Natelie Russell
Oxford, United Kingdom
"Goodbye, Professor Holland."
Matthew went to the cafeteria for lunch and then arranged a meeting with Natalie.
At this moment, Natalie had just finished lunch and was resting.
After Matthew invited her, the two met at a coffee shop.
"I was eating in the cafeteria just now. I didn't see you," Matthew asked. "Where did you eat lunch?"
Natalie said, "To prevent me from being poisoned, the university gave me special treatment a long time ago, so I can only eat lunch alone in my dorm."
Matthew was surprised but then realized that this was indeed necessary.
Although with Natalie's current mental strength, most poisons couldn't escape her sight and smell when they reached her, there were still many toxins in this world that are colorless, odorless, and difficult to distinguish even under a microscope.
With so many bounties now placed on Natalie, including some for supernatural items, it was definitely wise to be cautious.
Then Natalie asked, "When did you go back this time... did my dad say something to you?"
Upon hearing this, Matthew immediately smiled.
He didn't hide anything and told the whole story of how Grand Magister Russell had instigated him to break up "Matthew" and Natalie.
"...Uncle Russell still thinks highly of me. Oh, and he also sent me a document with all your likes and dislikes. Do you like cats? Do you like spicy food? Do you like watching cartoons?"
Natalie's pretty face flushed slightly.
She thought for a moment and decided to explain the situation. "Matthew, don't mind him, my dad just overthinks things. He always feels like I will never grow up."
"I don't mind."
Matthew smiled and said, "I completely understand Uncle Russell's thoughts. He cares about you a lot. If it were me, I wouldn't let a good-for-nothing take my daughter away."
Hearing Matthew say that, Natalie breathed a slight sigh of relief.
Then Matthew continued, "Natalie, Uncle Russell doesn't know that Clark Kent is me yet. You should find an opportunity to explain the situation to him later. Only you can handle this matter. If I intervene, it might cause unnecessary misunderstandings."
Natalie nodded, knowing it was better for her to explain the situation.
If Matthew were to speak, given her father's personality, he might think Matthew was there to laugh at him.
It wouldn't be good if things got sour between the two of them.
"When would be a good time to tell him?" Natalie asked.
Matthew waved his hand. "I don't know Uncle Russell very well. You should decide."
Natalie frowned, and after a moment's thought, she decided to continue keeping it a secret for the time being.
If she told her father about the embarrassing incident that happened yesterday, it would probably embarrass him greatly.
It would be better to tell her father at a more suitable time.
...
The two sat in the coffee shop for a while before going their separate ways.
Natalie was going to continue training.
Matthew then returned to his apartment.
Just as Matthew arrived at his apartment door and was about to open it, his neighbor opened the door behind him.
Matthew turned around, saw Ava Owen, and immediately greeted her with a smile. "Miss Owen, what a coincidence."
"It is not a coincidence. I've been waiting for you."
"Oh? I didn't know Miss Owen was waiting for me. Is there something you need?"
Ava Owen asked, "Matthew, did you go back to your hometown yesterday?"
"Yes." Matthew nodded immediately. "I've been away for a few months, so I went home to see my parents."
"Could you please let me know in advance next time you're going on a long trip?"
"Hmm? Miss Owen, are you planning to protect me personally on my trips?" he asked.
"Dream on. If you're not going to be here for long, I can finally take a break and go out for a stroll. Staying inside the apartment every day is too boring."
Hearing this, Matthew felt a little embarrassed and immediately said, "Okay, next time when I go on a long trip, I'll definitely let you know in advance."
Ava Owen nodded in satisfaction.
Matthew asked again, "Miss Owen, how long do you plan to protect me here?"
"I don't know," Ava Owen said. "I have to follow the instructions from my supervisors. And there is no specified deadline at the moment."
Matthew knew he didn't need protection.
With his current strength, unless a seventh-tier expert came, no one could kill him.
But he couldn't say that.
Saying it out loud would only cause trouble for himself.
"Thank you for your hard work, Miss Owen. How about this? I've decided to spend the next three days on campus to prepare for the next Supernatural Layer and make plans with my teammate. And I'm letting you know now."
Matthew said.
At least in this way, he would have made up for some of the trouble he had put Miss Owen through in vain.
"Really?"
"Really. Enjoy your three-day holiday, Miss Owen."
"...Thank you, Matthew. I owe you one."
"You're welcome," Matthew said and entered his apartment.
This wasn't a problem for Matthew, and he didn't think anyone would notice his brief departure from campus for a sunbath.
...
The next day.
Matthew got up early and went to campus.
Today, Professor Holland was going to talk about the content of the fourth layer of the Supernatural Realm.
