Chapter 65 - My Own Company

First thing first, Baston transferred Levan's body inside the old book. As for the assistant, he left it alone. After transforming one puppet to be like Levan, he then controlled it so the man just looked like

being stabbed somewhere on the body. Baston also didn't forget to smear blood

upon his clothes and the puppet. With this, the preparation of the drama finished and he only needed to come out.

"HELP!!! HELP!!! EVERYONE, SIR LEVAN IS BEING ATTACKED BY THE ASSASSIN!!!"

Baston suddenly shouted frantically after rushing out from the room. The nearby workers hurriedly came over to find that the assistant was already death while Levan panted over the wound. There was a knife lodged on his abdomen, bleeding out as the result. Few people who saw this quickly told

the others that their benefactor needed help badly. Everyone rushed ahead to look for Levan before the controlled puppet spoke.

"It's alright, everyone… You don't have to worry about me…"

"No, sir! How can we do this? Let's go to the clinic first. Your safety is the priority here."

"Yes, yes…" another person nodded, "With so many people here, everyone will help you, Sir. You don't need to worry about us…"

"No, I'm afraid once we get outside, the assassin will take a chance to kill me. Once I die, how could the company work? Now that my assistant has already died protecting me, I can't trouble you over this."

"But, sir. Your wounds…"

"It's alright. I already call a healer to come here. In no time, this wound is nothing for him."

"I see…"

The workers were glad that nothing worse came upon Levan. Although it was a pity that the assistant had died, they could only wish the heaven accepted his soul. Too bad if Baston knew what they were thinking, he

gladly cursed the assistant to enter the hell as soon as possible. Few people including Baston helped Levan to sit on his chair. The fat boy kept silent after shouting for help. He wasn't in panic anymore and quietly looking what the workers around felt about Levan. As far as he could see, the workers really

took care of their benefactor. Baston could only shake his head that everyone had been fooled by this man after all this time.

Before the workers dispersed, Levan ordered them not to spread this news. He was afraid the assassin would target their family. As the boss, he told everyone the most precious asset in the company was his workers, not the so-called wealth or equipment. When everyone heard this, they shed tears because the boss was really too kind for them. Not only he prioritized them, he also took care of their safety. By then, one by one went along and acted like the usual. Baston who saw this clicked his tongue because it was too easy to trick these people.

Locking the door, he activated the soundproof magic before taking the main seat. Levan who was hurt before suddenly stood up and remained silent. Baston thought he was pretty good of making a drama. Initially, he wanted to do it by himself regarding the matter of Levan. But once he thought deeply again, he felt it would be just a matter of time until he made a mess of

the company. He wasn't a professional of being the manager. Someone must take

this position and it couldn't be him. Somehow, he remembered Alicia owed him

for an opportunity to fight him back then. Still, he didn't want to use it because it would be too easy for her.

This matter, Baston decided to inform someone who could handle it. He found Karte first before telling him to look for a student named Panto. For Karte himself, it was very easy to do since the merchant boy usually ordered food for Baston. He remembered well what Panto looked like and where he usually strolled around so in no time, he found the boy and told the matter

about Baston. Even though Panto was confused, he still believed Baston wanted

to tell something important personally. Karte led the boy into Levan's company before he went back. As soon as he knocked the door, there was an answer from inside.

"Come in…"

As soon as Panto entered the room, he found Baston was sitting on the main seat while Levan as the owner of the company kept standing beside the fat boy. There was also a smell of blood, although he couldn't find the source. Baston had already cleared the body by asking a few workers to quietly bury the assistant. Of course, the puppet disguised as Levan ordered that they must

not tell anyone that this body belong to his former assistant. He was afraid the assassin would follow them and they would be killed. The same reason from before took effect greatly so no one suspected him as the boss. Panto had many questions in his head, but he simply took a seat and facing Baston directly. Right at the moment, Baston just looked like a big boss behind the scene.

"I killed Levan and the assistant an hour before…" Baston started the first sentence which shocking Panto greatly.

"What? What do you mean? Why you kill them? Isn't Mr. Levan here with you?" Panto was totally confused.

"This man is not Levan. He just disguises himself as him."

"WHAT?"

Before Panto got confused further, Baston then told the story from the beginning. From when Levan hired the thugs to do his criminal act until the purpose to build this company while getting the rights as the

exclusive supplier for Prius Academy. When Baston finished everything, Panto was still in shock because he didn't realize that such a man was a devil deep inside his heart. No wonder Levan could buy many things and from outside, it seemed that he never ran out of money. Still, he wondered why the fat boy told him about all these things.

"The reason… The reason you tell me this… Is it because it has connection with the cult?"

Baston was in silent and Panto who saw the reaction simply thought his hunch was true. What Panto didn't know was Baston was wondering the boy still couldn't forget his first impression regarding the cult. It was true

that he wanted to link it with the cult so he would be spared over explaining it in detail. Anyway, since Panto already took the initiative to talk about the cult, he would just need to play along with it.

"Are you afraid?"

"Not anymore…" Panto answered, looking at Baston.

"Why?"

"Because I believe you still protect me…"

"I'm really flattered…" Baston thought.

He never thought Panto still had trust in him regarding the cult. Even though it was already long ago and he also almost forgot about it, the merchant boy kept believing that his peaceful days were provided by Baston.

He felt uncomfortable for lying but there was no other way because it was related with his survival. Besides, Panto might have much benefits to take this time.

There was no need to waste any more time so Baston went to the point. Since Levan had already died, someone had to take care of the company. According to the magic contract, once the man passed away, Baston

would inherit the place. It was already belonged to him in fact, but because people would suspect everything if Levan suddenly died, then he had no choice but to disguise the puppet into Levan. Of course, Baston wouldn't tell Panto about the existence of the old book and the puppets. What he explained only limited on Levan's crime and what kind of the next solution.

As the son from merchant class, Panto had been learning about business for several years. Even before he was admitted to Prius Academy, he had already learned the basic of doing the business. Because Levan's matter was very complicated, Panto then asked for a couple of days to think it

thoroughly. Baston agreed with Panto and before the boy dismissed himself, he

wondered how could Baston could avoid the punishment from the magic contract? He wanted to ask, but quickly let it go since it was too personal. One thing he knew was only the strong one could bypass such contract easily. With this fact, Panto believed Baston was actually stronger than he thought. Just imagining such a young expert protected his life made him very excited.

Apparently, if Baston heard what Panto was thinking about him, he could only smile wryly. He actually wasn't strong like what the boy imagined. During the time in the academy, he used his deception skill to trick

many people into believing what he formulated before. The result was quite good

so Baston still continued with it. As for the matter of the magic contract, it was easy to explain once everyone knew the trick.

When the signing happened, Baston used the puppet while Levan did it by himself. The existence of the puppet was very special because not only it was hardly detected with magic, it could also bring an item when

summoned back and restored to the new one if it got broken. The contract was valid and the puppet was bounded by the agreement. When Baston controlled the

puppet to restrain Levan, the contract didn't work because it couldn't detect the emotion from the puppet. Since the contract stipulated the puppet was harmless, Baston could then move to the next action.

The fat boy already knew beforehand he could do this. That was why he dared to confront Levan directly. Until the death, Levan was very confused why the magic contract never acted. It was just like he signed the fake one, making the punishment didn't work against Baston. In the end, the man never got his answer before he ceased to breathe forever. After everything

happened, Baston could feel the bounded contract finally disappeared from his puppet. Since Levan had already died, it was meaningless to bind the puppet anymore. Still, there was one thing he needed to do to make Levan slowly disappeared from the public.

Until Baston could make the fake Levan legally died, he couldn't let his guard down and must still continue with the drama. With the help from Panto, he could solve this matter completely. Eventually, Panto himself didn't disappoint because at the very morning the day after tomorrow, he found Baston and quickly explained what he had been thinking for days.

With the death of the owner, Baston would automatically take the company. Despite the fact, they couldn't publicize it since the matter regarding Levan was too big to solve in one day. Because of this, Panto could

only act in roundabout way. The fake Levan would then give the procurement of goods to Rembrant. This step would change the company into distribution type since it didn't find the goods itself, but picked one company to represent on Levan's behalf to prepare everything. As soon as the goods came to the company, the fake Levan would order everyone to check the quality. If it was good, it would be then sent to the academy. If not, the goods would be returned for replacement.

The plan was quite good. Most money would then go to Panto while some of it would be used to pay the salary. As for the profit, Baston didn't care too much as long as the workers here got their salaries first. In terms of management, Panto also advised to sent a few people from his side, acting like supervisor and had the authority to manage the finance and operational of the company. With this, Baston could heave a sigh of relief.

Before Panto went back, the fat boy gave a list to him.

"What is this?" Panto asked, looking at many names on the paper.

"The thugs and criminals who associates themselves with Levan. Kill them all secretly so they won't bother here anymore."

"Yes, I will gladly do it."

Panto swore he would do the best to eliminate all the names on the paper from the world. Not only he could gain the better impression on Baston's eyes, he also could take care the troublesome matter related with the company in the future. With this, he excused himself from the room.
