~Darius's POV~
"Wait. Nicholas was there?" Kalliope looks like all the color's been drained from her face.
"Yeah." I rub a hand over my jaw. "Evander saw him talking to the driver. They probably planned to kidnap the kids, but he changed his mind when Abby showed up."
Andreas immediately pulls out his phone. No hesitation.
"I'll send people to the casino. I'll be right back," he mutters, already leaving the room. I nod and shift my attention back to Kalliope. Her eyes are glossy with fear.
"Zolani hasn't said a word since the whole incident," she whispers. "What if she saw him too? What if he tried to do something?"
"I doubt it," I tell her. "Evander is pretty clear that he didn't say anything. The kid was terrified."
"Evander saw Nicholas?"
Damon's voice cuts in from behind me, and irritation spikes through me. Of course he shows up now. The whole reason I'm here with Kalliope was so she could handle telling everyone else.
