My senses are so overridden with boiling rage that I don't notice when Willa gets to me and tug lightly on the sleeve of my suit.
Her face is soft, laced with concern as she speaks.
"Is anything the matter?"
I stare down at her, the phone still on my ear. But I hear the disconnecting sound from the other end, so I bring it down.
"Nothing," I reply curtly.
My tone is steady and even. I try my best to maintain my expression so as to appear calm even though I'm a boiling storm within.
Gregory had not only managed to provoke me, he's succeeded in ruining the day for me.
Willa's face turns even softer, a bit of sadness lingering.
"Are you upset with me?" She asks in a quiet tone. "Did I do something wrong?"
Her saddened voice pricks lightly at my heart.
I shake my head lightly.
"No. I'm not upset with you," I tell her.
