When everything on the battlefield was reset, Mera, who was in the rear of the battlefield, first froze, then her face filled with pleasant surprise.
She finally understood what Dane meant, but how was this done?
Nereus also wanted to know this question, but like Atlanna, he held a sense of reverence for those with divine power.
"Nereus, now, can we find a quiet place to have a good talk?"
Dane flipped his hand, retracting the dream stone.
Nereus quickly nodded, guiding them... Metropolis, night.
Batman, wearing the Eternity-N battle suit, quietly infiltrated a laboratory. This was a high-tech laboratory invested in by the famous LexCorp.
After a period of investigation, he narrowed down the clues to the genetic weapon that the Admiral had produced.
He believed that since the item had been used by certain individuals as a weapon against humanity, it must have undergone special modifications.
After Dane recovered the genetic weapon in Atlantis, he quickly transferred it to the Hall of Justice, entrusting Cortana to analyze its components.
The test results were not unexpected; it contained a raw material composed of an element currently not found on Earth, an element not on the periodic table.
Therefore, it could basically be confirmed that this was an alien invasion event, and the enemy had chosen a more clandestine method of invasion.
Batman had been following this matter closely, and when he received the lab results from Cortana, he quickly traced the origin of the weapon.
Tonight was his opportunity to infiltrate this laboratory for an on-site investigation.
To prevent the enemy from being a type he, in his human form, couldn't handle, he had specifically donned this battle suit to enhance his combat power.
Putting everything else aside, this 'flying' ability was truly useful.
Batman only needed to spread the bat-like cape on his back to transform into a true 'Batman,' descending from the faint moonlight onto the roof of the target laboratory.
He carefully opened a vent and, following the ceiling, positioned himself on a load-bearing beam, quietly listening to the movements below.
"Don't forget, barbecue at my place Saturday night, everyone has to come!"
"Sounds good."
"I'll definitely be there."
"See you then!"
The first researcher to speak nodded with satisfaction upon hearing the replies from his three colleagues, then left the laboratory.
Then the atmosphere suddenly became quiet.
Batman frowned slightly; his intuition told him that the three people below were problematic.
A moment later, seemingly convinced that the person had indeed left, the three began to converse.
But Batman discovered that they were speaking a language he had never heard before.
It was known that Bruce had once traveled the World to learn various things, and he had heard almost all human languages on this World, having summarized some patterns of human vocal organ pronunciation.
So he was certain that these people were not speaking a language from the Human world.
It seems my direction is correct. He thought to himself.
Immediately after, the three below began to move.
They retrieved a strange object from somewhere; it looked like a biological weapon, yet it also seemed not to be.
The three took the object and went up to the rooftop, with Batman carefully trailing them.
On the rooftop, they carefully placed the object in the center of a microwave emitter, and the object suddenly flowed into the emitter like a liquid.
Batman's battle suit suddenly warned him that an unknown signal was being transmitted into outer space, sending unknown information.
He immediately understood that those people were communicating with something extraterrestrial.
Batman decided to stop hiding; he stepped out of the shadows and threw a Batarang.
The Batarang embedded itself in the emitter and instantly exploded!
The force of the explosion blew the three researchers away, but Batman noticed that they quickly got back up as if nothing had happened.
Batman narrowed his eyes; he had just used ordinary chemical explosives, and it seemed they weren't very effective.
The three stood up, saw Batman, and exchanged glances.
It's Batman of the Justice League, what do we do?
We can't let our plans be exposed; the situation with Atlantis hasn't been dealt with yet.
Then let's take him out!
The three instantly reached a consensus, then together they lunged at Batman.
Batman was unfazed, stepping forward to engage the three in combat.
As soon as they clashed, Batman discovered that the three possessed immense strength, a force almost impossible for humans to exert.
So he silently adjusted the output power of his battle suit, and with the suit's enhancement, his strength and speed increased significantly.
Coupled with his meticulously honed combat techniques, the three, who had initially been overwhelming Batman with their numbers, quickly found themselves at a disadvantage.
Seeing that they couldn't defeat him, the three researchers immediately changed tactics.
Under Batman's astonished gaze, the three's bodies began to deform, transforming into three monsters with four arms and long claws.
One of them charged again, its claws raking across Batman's gauntlet, sparking.
Very sharp. Batman silently assessed.
But to think this trick could penetrate this battle suit was perhaps a bit overconfident.
Batman swung his arms, and the battle suit streamlined and shifted, then arcs of electricity lit up on his gauntlets.
He grabbed the closest monster, and electricity quickly spread from their point of contact to the monster's body, shocking it into twitching and screaming.
The other two quickly moved forward to assist, and Batman grabbed the claws of the one in his hand, pulled it down, and simultaneously kicked its feet.
It immediately lost its balance and fell to the ground, and Batman pushed it back, his alloy boot directly stomping on the back of its head.
The monster twitched twice and then stopped moving.
That spot apparently still had vital points and weaknesses similar to humans.
Batman then turned to deal with the remaining two monsters; after figuring out their general characteristics, these two did not last longer than the first, quickly meeting the same fate.
Batman looked around; there were three of them, and he couldn't easily move them alone; his wristband could only support the user carrying and teleporting one person.
There was no other way; he could only call his batplane to come.
But while waiting, he noticed that the bodies of the three monsters suddenly began to twist unnaturally.
He had a bad feeling.
"...Detecting high-energy reaction...!"
The bat-suit issued a warning, and he immediately wanted to pull out a freeze bomb, but it was already too late.
With a "boom," the bodies of the three monsters were instantly incinerated into ash by the sudden high temperature.
Only Batman remained, standing in place, frowning in thought.
Seconds later, a sonic boom echoed from the sky, and Batman looked up to see that Superman had arrived.
"Bruce? What are you doing here?"
He had just been on the phone with Lois, when he suddenly heard an explosion somewhere.
When he rushed here, he found only Batman and a bonfire.
"Are you..." Clark hesitated before saying, "...making a bonfire?"
Batman's face under the mask was as black as charcoal. Am I, Bruce Wayne, the kind of person who stays up all night just to have a bonfire party on the outskirts of Metropolis?
Clark also realized his words were a bit ridiculous, and he scratched his head sheepishly.
"So what happened just now?"
Batman explained, "I tracked some... alien life forms here. I had them subdued, but then they suddenly self-destructed and self-immolated, burning all the evidence to nothing."
Upon hearing this, Clark's expression immediately became serious.
"Are they those aliens Dane mentioned?"
Batman said, "As of now, that possibility cannot be ruled out."
Clark frowned, "I didn't even know when they entered this city."
"That's normal." Batman said thoughtfully.
"When I was fighting them just now, the suit's sensors showed they were still human."
"But even after they changed form, the suit still showed the same."
Now even Clark fell into deep thought.
If the battle suit's monitoring system was not malfunctioning, then these alien life forms either possessed a method to evade detectors, or... they were capable of occupying human bodies.
After the magic incident, the Justice League had gained a deeper understanding of the concept of "possession," leading to a rather bold speculation.
But no matter which of the above guesses was the answer, it indicated that this alien life force was very difficult to deal with.
The battle suit Bruce wore was already considered the pinnacle of human technological achievement.
If even it couldn't detect the true nature of these alien life forms, then how would human organizations elsewhere cope with such an enemy?
Batman had an even deeper concern: how many human organizations had already been infiltrated?
