Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Clark Kent, Not Yet Superman

Dane first removed the magic that the Wizard had originally attached to the cuneiform script.

It was because of this summoning magic that even Sivana, who was originally an ordinary person, could reach the Rock of Eternity by writing the incantation with chalk.

This was what Dane's Wisdom of Solomon told him.

Then, he directly sealed all the magic entrances from the Real World to the Rock of Eternity, making himself the only one who could freely enter and exit the place.

Of course, he still remembered that besides himself, there was one other person who could enter this place through magic, and that was Black Adam.

Since he knew about this loophole, he decisively plugged it, using his authority to directly blacklist Black Adam.

He thought for a moment and added another patch, allowing himself to enter this place even when he was in human form.

Then, the second thing he had to do was to put an insurance on the word "Shazam."

Just shouting it to undo the transformation, what kind of foolish idea was that?

What if I accidentally blurted it out? What if I pronounced a homophone?

Even if I were extra careful, I could still be caught by Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth.

The Shazam family in the animated movie "Flashpoint Paradox" died tragically, and Dane couldn't afford to be unprepared.

From today onwards, the spell "Shazam" would only be effective if Dane, out of his free will, truly wished to transform.

Moreover, there was no longer a need to shout; a silent read would suffice.

Billy Batson, have you learned? The Wisdom of Solomon should be used this way!

From now on, the Rock of Eternity would be his home, and he wouldn't need to buy a house in the U.S.; he would live here from now on.

After transforming into Shazam, he didn't need to eat, drink Water, go to the toilet, or even sleep.

His divine body ensured he was always full of energy; with such power, did he still need to continue going to school?

Dane thought carefully and decided that while he might not need to attend school, he should continue learning.

If the Shazam Force were ever gone, he wouldn't be unable to move an inch in human society.

The Shazam Force, in the end, was not his own power; the gods could lend him their divine power, and naturally, they could also take it back.

Dane remembered this plot in the comics; he couldn't be sure which World he was in now, but he was accustomed to thinking of the worst-case scenario.

Moreover, even in the movie World, Shazam 2 clearly stated that the wizard's Scepter was a divine artifact capable of seizing divine power.

This required vigilance; the Scepter couldn't be destroyed, otherwise, it would trigger the events of Shazam 2, leading to the escape of the sealed goddesses.

Nor could it fall into the hands of others, otherwise, it would pose a threat to him.

But it could be used as a trump card.

Dane felt very strange; the wizard had this Scepter in his hand, so logically, Black Adam should have just taken his divine power directly, instead of going to the trouble of sealing him.

He would think about this later; there was still a long time before Black Adam broke his seal, enough time for him to prepare.

Now he wanted to see what was going on with Superman.

Coming to DC and not seeing Superman felt like visiting a scenic spot but not checking in at a popular attraction; it just didn't feel right.

No sooner said than done, Dane's mind stirred, and the surrounding scenery instantly changed; he was back in the San Francisco subway station.

At this time, the subway had stopped operating, and there was no one around.

Dane put on his White hood and, with a "thud," shot up from the ground, flying into the sky.

Unlike Billy Batson, he was very sure he could fly.

So, flying became a very simple thing, and he quickly adapted to his power.

While flying, he inadvertently activated Mercury's Speed, and the surrounding scenery stretched into lines in his eyes.

His speed was so fast, yet the air resistance he felt was not strong; this was the marvelous use of divine power.

To a certain extent, it violated the science known to ordinary people.

Dane kept flying upwards until he flew out of the atmosphere, seeing a bit of sunlight from the outline of the Earth's edge.

His divine body didn't need to breathe, allowing him to act normally without any hindrance.

Dane closed his eyes and, using the Wisdom of Solomon, found a tracking spell among King Solomon's many magic spells.

He called out Superman's name.

"Clark Kent, adopted son of Jonathan Kent."

"Kal-El, biological son of Jor-El, the last son of Kryptonian..."

With such clear information provided, the magicaccurately guided him in Clark's direction.

"Found you."

Dane whispered, flying towards the ocean... An offshore oil rig was currently engulfed in raging Fire.

The heavily bearded Clark jumped from a fishing boat into the sea, swimming towards the platform at an alarming speed.

He used his super hearing to search for survivors and finally found the last few in a sealed cabin.

Everyone present was stunned to see this man, whose body was ablaze with Fire.

Clark took them to the helipad, and as he sent everyone onto the helicopter, he noticed the oil rig platform beginning to collapse; to ensure the remaining people could leave safely, he decided to stay.

To the shocked eyes of the rescue team members, they saw the shirtless man hold up the thousands of tons of the platform with his bare hands, buying them time to leave.

"Jesus..."

The future Superman's potential was not yet fully unleashed at this time; he couldn't hold on for more than a few minutes, as the supports beneath the platform deformed, and thousands of tons of steel pressed down on his waist like a mountain.

"Ah--!"

Clark struggled to hold it up, but the helipad beneath his feet couldn't bear the weight.

Just then, an unusual sound came from the sky—the sonic boom produced after breaking the sound barrier.

Clark heard it; he looked up, and his super vision allowed him to clearly see that "thing."

It was a red figure, wearing a White cape; he was actually flying!

Dane saw the situation on site and used both hands to help Clark support the steel structure.

"You look like you need help?"

He smiled at Clark.

Hercules's Strength granted him the same strength as Superman, pushing the thousands of tons of steel structure directly upwards.

"My goodness, another one!"

At this moment, the rescue team members and survivors on the helicopter felt that they had truly seen something extraordinary today.

Clark seemed a bit emotional, and Dane understood; he remembered that Superman's purpose in traveling at this time was to find people like himself.

"You..."

"This isn't the place to talk; let's leave first."

"Good!"

But he looked at Dane, who was in mid-air, then at himself, feeling a bit awkward.

Oh, right, at this time, Superman hadn't learned to fly yet.

He would only learn after finding the Kryptonianancient spaceship and receiving a bowl of spiritual chicken soup from his father, Jor-El.

Dane smiled and extended his hand to Clark; he took it somewhat shyly, and then they shot into the sky at supersonic speed.

Before leaving, Dane looked back at the ocean; he felt that someone was watching them from deep within that ocean.

Clark looked at the surrounding scenery, full of surprise; he had never been so high up, and to reach such an altitude with his bare body.

Upon reaching the stratosphere, Clark began to have some difficulty breathing; he couldn't help but ask:

"Where are we going?"

"To my house."

"Huh?"

Clark looked up, a bit puzzled; did your house live in space?

But soon, Clark felt like he had broken through some barrier, the scene changed, and he suddenly arrived in a place surrounded by rocks.

"Where is this?"

"Welcome to the Rock of Eternity."

Clark looked at the place in amazement; at the end of seven distinct stone statues, there was a high platform, and on the platform, seven huge stone chairs were arranged in an arch.

"Just find a place to sit; I've only just taken over here, so there are many places I don't know either."

"Don't run around; it's easy to fall into other Worlds."

Dane knew that there were many doors here connecting to other different World, so he reminded him.

He disappeared as if teleporting, and just as Clarkwas bewildered, he suddenly reappeared, only with a set of clothes and two cups of coffee in his hands.

"Change into these."

Dane handed him the clothes; his original clothes had been burned away in the big Fire.

Clark took the clothes and changed very quickly, almost in the blink of an eye.

Dane handed him the coffee in his hand; he had bought it casually when he went to get the clothes, don't ask, just super speed.

"Are you... are you like me too?"

Clark took a sip and then asked hesitantly.

"That depends on how you define it; compared to ordinary people, you and I are the same, both belonging to superhumans, but this is only a broad statement."

"In a narrow sense, there are still differences between you and me, Clark; you're not an Earthling, are you?"

Dane chose to be direct.

Clark was startled, but he didn't have any negative reaction; the person in front of him didn't seem like a bad guy.

This was thanks to Dane's excellent appearance; he looked sunny and positive, much better than Billy Batson's goofy look after transforming.

Clark nodded, tacitly agreeing.

Dane sat up straight at this moment.

"Let me introduce myself; my real name is Dane, my surname is inconvenient to disclose, and in front of outsiders, you can call me Shazam."

"My identity, from a human definition perspective, is considered a 'demigod.'"
